They said, “verily, you are certainly among those who are bewitched.”

Tafsir

Although Shu'ayb (peace be upon him) invited the people of Ayka to the Truth, the people of Ayka said to Shu'ayb (peace be upon him): "You are a person who has been bewitched.

People who do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter, when Allah, the Creator of the worlds and of themselves, is mentioned, they are full of arrogance and pride, as well as egotism and grandiosity, and keep on saying the same things. You are at best someone who has been thoroughly bewitched. Or this is just a fable of the ancients. There is no resurrection after death. By saying such things as who has gone to the Hereafter and who has come, one not only reveals one's lack of faith in Allah (swt), but also one's lack of intelligence and stupidity.

If one thinks about it, all these created things are created with knowledge and are in harmony with each other. Since the created things complement each other, these worlds are in a state of order and harmony. I wonder according to which logic and theorem these beings were endowed with reason and life and came into existence on their own. Here Allah appeals to the human mind and proves His existence with His Verses. But man, out of hatred and rebellion against Allah, gets depressed when Allah is mentioned and wants to get away from it. Or, if they are in their own communities, they seek to silence those who say Allah with violence and punishment, taking strength from each other.

This people followed in the footsteps of their ancestors and disbelieved in the Messenger of Allah, Shu'ayb. They said, "You're just a bewitched person.

What is said in the video

Verse 185 of Surah Ash-Shu'ara: They said: You are nothing but someone thoroughly bewitched. Always the words the ancients used to say. The others who were destroyed also said the same thing. Although Shu'ayb (peace be upon him) invited the people of Aykah to the Truth, the people of Aykah said this to Shu'ayb (peace be upon him). They said: You too are nothing but someone thoroughly bewitched. People who do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter, when Allah, who created the worlds and themselves, was mentioned, out of arrogance and pride and at the same time egotism and self-importance always said the same words.

Now here there is, against this statement, a verse. What are we saying? People who do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter, when Allah, who created the worlds and themselves, is mentioned, out of arrogance and pride and at the same time egotism and self-importance keep saying the same words over and over. Why do they keep at it? Why do they say it? Because in the realm of Lahut, when Allah Almighty created our souls and said, I am your Lord, those who saw Allah, our Lord, as looking like themselves, the non-Muslims who saw Him as looking like themselves, those deniers, in pride and arrogance denied Allah.

Hodja, what you say contradicts the verse. It says they said yes, doesn't it. Where did you get denial from? Isn't that so? They said yes. Within that denial of theirs, Allah Almighty knows that they will deny. With the (?) intellect He gave them, those deniers know that by a Lord they were created. They know they were created by a Lord. That intellect is in them. I was created. A Lord created me, he says. Because (?). I was created, he says. Someone created me. And Allah Almighty says: that God is Me. There is no god other than Me, He says. Let that Lord you found in your imagination, that you imagined, create you, He says.

This is where Allah Almighty says yes. If with that intellect of yours you know you were created, you say yes, that I was created. But I do not accept your denial, He says. Because I created you, He says. And you too know: I was created. Well then, show Me a god other than Me, He says, who would create you. Let Me see him, He says. There isn't one. Since there isn't, he says yes. In this situation, Allah Almighty — when the corrupters on earth denied the Prophet (peace be upon him), our Lord says to the Prophet in a verse: My Beloved, do not mind their calling you a liar; in their time they betrayed Me too, He says.

How beautifully He puts it. Yes.

Or: this is nothing but the fables of the ancients. There is no resurrection after death. Who has gone to the Hereafter and come back — with such words man reveals his lack of faith in Allah Almighty, and likewise reveals his lack of reason and his foolishness. If man would only think: all these created things, created with knowledge, are in harmony with one another. Look at it this way, with man, don't go far: his eating, his drinking, the breaking down of the food he takes into his body into chemical substances, into fats. His liver, it says, his liver. Only if a laboratory the size of the world were set up could it do that job.

Man (?) a radio device. In Spain, it says, there are such bats that from the screams those bats give out people collapse, heart patients (?), pregnant women miscarry, it says. Yes. The eye takes in and gives out at once, like a (?) machine. Instantly, even faster than that. Well, the brain is a memory, the heart a machine. This coming together of man in this way, you know, this machine coming together — is it a coincidence? All right, let's say it's a coincidence from then until now. Well, in the sky there is a lunar system — the earth, the moon, right? There is the solar system. Did these stay there by themselves?

Did the months, days, years come about by themselves? So there is a Creator of this beyond human power. Then did that Creator leave these worlds unattended? Did He create them in vain? Leave them in vain? He willed that His essence be known. So, for His essence to be known, with a soul from His most honorable essence He created man. He made him His addressee. Well, despite being created this honorably, despite His giving man His soul, which is bound to nothing in the worlds, if that man does not reason and reflect and find how he was created and who created him, that man, as Allah Almighty decrees in a verse, is (?) like four- legged animals, it says.

So, in order not to fall into the state of those four-legged animals, do you never use your reason, He says? Do you never reflect, He says? Yes.

Yes. If man would only think: all these created things are created with knowledge and are in harmony with one another. Since created things complement each other, these worlds proceed in order and harmony. Now, Allah Almighty created seventeen thousand worlds. Some say eighteen thousand, right. What are these seventeen thousand worlds? The ant is a world, the wolf a world, the fish a world, let's say, man a world, the bear a world, you know. Like that, seventeen thousand worlds. Why did He create them? Well, they clean the world, they filter the world.

The lion strangles an animal, eats its meat, the bones, (?) on the bones, vultures gulp them down, eagles swallow the bones, they leave nothing lying around, they clean up.

He created 17 thousand worlds in such a way as to (?) and clean the world. Come on, you clean the world, then. In one place they wiped out the cheetahs. They couldn't get through for the monkeys' filth. They realized that the cheetahs, by cleaning up these monkeys, that is, by eating them, do a filtering, a cleaning job. Today in Africa, where rain is abundant, the grass grows up (?). There, antelopes, you know, ox-headed animals, buffalo, in (?). Millions. What do they do? They clean those places. Well, what would happen if these kept multiplying? While crossing over, crocodiles eat them. Lions eat them. They clean them up.

So He has programmed this world until the Day of Judgment. There isn't a single living being, He says. There isn't a single living being to come until the Day of Judgment whose purpose we would not know. Is this world just running on like this, unattended? Now something has come to my mind. The priests say to Imam Azam: you say that Allah exists, they say. Can you prove this to us, say the priests.

I can, he says.

Tomorrow at 12 we'll be waiting for you in the church, they say. The priests. The priests gather in the church at 12. Imam Azam isn't there. It's 11, it's 11:30, it's 12, he isn't there. It's half past, he isn't there. Just as they're about to leave, Imam Azam arrives.

Their first question is this: O Imam, is there lying in Islam, they say? Like what, he says? Well, you were going to come at 12 (?), they say. You're right, he says. But, he says, when I tell you why I was late, you'll agree with me, he says. Why were you late, they say. I, he says, was coming from the shore, he says. A group on the shore, you know, was talking among themselves. They were saying, he says, a ship in the ocean, without a captain, without a rudder, without a rudder, amid raging waves is heading for its destination. Some say it's possible, he says. Some say it's not; they got into an argument, he says.

And because I (?) them, I was late, forgive me, he says.

All right, they say. We forgive you. Prove Allah to us, they say — His existence, that is. In this world, he says, just like that ship heading for its destination without a captain, without a rudder, did it come into existence by itself without Allah, that is, without a Creator, he says? By God, they say, you're right. Without an owner this order would not head for its destination like this, they say. Now Allah proves His essence so beautifully. These worlds are programmed. Everything proceeds in order and harmony. If you now stand up here and deny Allah and seek a god according to your imagination, of course you are ungrateful to your Creator, and because you deny Him, (?) eternal punishment.

Yes, I wonder, according to what logic and theorem were these beings, intellects and lives not endowed with life but came into being by themselves? Exactly — show me a theorem. The head of the theorem is Allah, because He is the Creator. Because He has the power to create, the theorem is there. But this lies in His secret. Well. But man, out of himself and his rebellion against Allah, when Allah is mentioned, into distress
