Translation

Praise is due to Allah who has created the heavens and the earth and who brought darkness and brightness to existence. (After these miracles and proofs,) those infidels (still) hold (their idols) equal to their Lord.

Tafsir

Praise and thanks are due to Allah. For He is the Creator of this universe, the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them. Since there is no God but Him, He is the One who guarantees the sustenance of the creatures and provides for them. Since the creatures are in need of the Essence of Allah, the praise and adoration is for the Essence of Allah (swt).

Allah (swt) says that there is no God but Allah (swt), and that gratitude is only for Allah (swt), and that it is for Allah (swt) who created the darkness and the light, inviting people to contemplate, and declaring that the universe was created with a knowledge and that He is the owner of that knowledge.

By darkness and light, he means that He created the sun and made it a lamp of light, He created the earth and made it rotate around its axis forty thousand kilometers, which is the diameter of the earth, in twenty-four hours, and He created the night and the day, and He emphasizes that no one other than Allah can do this, and that these cannot occur by chance, completely, in a science. Furthermore, Allah (swt), who sends people to a realm of the unseen, reveals His existence to people with verses, but He also proves His existence to people with many miracles. Even after such proofs, the disbelievers still associate partners with Allah, worship idols or deify their own souls and associate partners with Allah.

Yet neither they nor what they make with their hands is able to create anything. By associating themselves with Allah, or by turning their backs on Allah by deifying their ego, they bear witness against themselves and Allah that they are an incomprehensible people.

What is said in the video

Surah Al-An'am, verse 1. Praise be to Allah, who created the heavens and the earth and brought into being darkness and light; it belongs to Him alone. Yes, He is the Creator. After so many signs and proofs, those who disbelieve still hold idols equal to their Lord, it says. Our Lord always addresses reason, reason.

There is no being more honourable for a person than reason. Nor any treasure.

Yes. Note: those who do not use their reason. Or Allah Almighty, we are not blaming them of course, the proofs. If we take a look, truly, do you not see? (?) Did these come about by themselves? Do you not see that there is a power that created them? Do you not see that everything is equipped with knowledge? With such beautiful verses, with examples, He tells us to use our reason, that there is no god but Allah, and that the sole Owner of all this universe, of the created beings from the particle to the globe, is Allah Almighty; He makes this known to us. Yes.

Praise and glory belong to Allah alone. Because He is the One who created this universe, the heavens and the earth and what is between them. Since there is no god but Him, He is the One who guarantees the provision of the created and gives them their provision. El-Rizki Teâlâ Allah. So, the One who watches over what He created, who keeps them alive until an appointed time, who secures their provision until that time, Allah Almighty, with such a beautiful blessing of reason, tries to have us prove His existence, the existence of His essence. And in this case He commands us to praise and glorify, and to thank, Allah Almighty, who laid out all these blessings at people's command, gave them and provided for them.

Allah Almighty also says in His verse (?): would We ever diminish (?)?

So Allah Almighty tells us to always use our reason, and that there is no god but Allah, and that His essence is the absolute Ruler and Owner of these worlds, through the likenesses He gave us in His verses, through that power to create. What does He say? Praise be to the One who created the heavens and the earth. That is, the One besides whom there is no god and who makes all He created remember His essence: according to the verse, the heavens and the earth and what is between them know the remembrance of their Lord. There being no god but Him, and His making all He created remember His essence symbolising that there is no god but Him: what does Allah Almighty tell us?

He commands us to use our reason. Our reason. And as I said a moment ago, the greatest blessing for a person is using his reason. The greatest blessing. As we said in the comparison, we are not saying it to belittle them. Our Lord shows them to us as an example. Seeing those without reason, the insane, unaware of themselves, we understand better the blessing of reason upon a person. In this case, those who have reason but do not use it, those who associate partners with Allah, those who hold the servants Allah created equal to Allah, and out of stubbornness and arrogance, although they know they themselves are created, commit shirk against Allah Almighty.

Yes. These are wretched people who do not use their reason. The earths and the heavens, the earth and the heavens, and what is between them, the created beings, even if they united, could not harm Allah. Because Allah Almighty created what He created under His rule. Nothing is outside the rule of Allah Almighty. In this case, those who out of arrogance and pride, out of stubbornness, commit shirk against Allah, into what a great torment they lose their own selves. Angels: angels and humans cannot be compared. The reason: one of them is genderless and at the same time a robot; whatever the robot is programmed to do, it will do.

The other programs himself by his own will and by his own ability, desire and wish goes about his affairs. No comparison can be made between these two. For this reason humans and angels cannot be compared. However, since people are responsible to Allah Almighty, in this case, because a person does not use his reason, he disgraces himself. If he uses his reason, he makes himself a vizier. That is, he becomes a sultan. A person, within his own being, between Allah and himself, will measure himself with his own conscience. Otherwise a human being cannot be compared with any created being. That is, humans cannot be compared with any being created apart from humans.

Even the jinn: although He left them free in their own will, they cannot be compared with them either. The reason is that the human has a spirit He gave him that exists in nothing else in the universe. He has a part from His essence. For this reason a human cannot be compared with any being. That is, he cannot be compared with a being created apart from humans. That is why a person, only by his conduct and deeds, either makes his self a sultan or disgraces it.

People who do not use their reason drag themselves, instead of to the abode of eternal bliss, to the abode of eternal torment. And those who use their reason drag themselves to the abode of eternal bliss. Well, if you say the disbelievers use their reason too: had they used their reason, they would not associate partners with Allah. They would not say Allah is three.

Those who go outside Allah's verses, it says. Those of the People of the Book, of the People of the Book, who do not believe in the Holy Quran He sent last, those who go outside those verses, they are the disbelievers, it says. They are disbelievers.

And especially those who do not believe in Allah at all and worship idols are polytheists. Polytheists. That is why praise and glory be to Allah, who gave us an ability to use our reason, and with it, by knowing our Lord, by our being with our Lord, and by our worship of Him, we thank our Lord. Praise and glory be to Him. (?) praise and glory belong to Allah alone, it says. The One who brought us into being from nothing, who feeds us, gives us drink, watches over us, provides for us within a certain life, and finally, in His verse where He says every soul will taste death and your return is to Me, a lifetime: on the Day of Judgement we will give account before our Lord, with the honour of the human being called to account and the helplessness of the people who could not use that honour.

Yes.

Blessed are those who use their reason. Praise and glory belong to Allah alone. Because He is the One who created this universe, the heavens and the earth and what is between them. Since there is no god but Him, He is the One who guarantees the provision of the created and gives them their provision. Since the created are in need of Allah's essence, praise and glory too belong to the essence of Allah Almighty. The created are in need of the essence of Allah Almighty. Because Allah Almighty, with His attribute of the Ever-Living, gives the creators, the created, provision. Since the essence that gives provision to the created is also the Creator of them, He is the One who shows no need of what He created; with the attribute of the Ever-Living He is alive, showing no need of what He created, He is the One who has no need.

And He is the One who is free of what He created. Free. So in this case, what do we say? Allah Almighty does not fit into the earths and the heavens. He is free of them. That is, He is beyond time and space. But, He says, He fits into the heart of a believing servant of Mine, let Us manifest to him, He says. Manifestation. Yes. In this case the human being is truly a very honourable being. If only he could know his place; as we always repeat, Abdulqadir Gilani also says it. Had man known his place in the sight of Allah Almighty, La mülke illa yeğmeli. Today the dominion is mine alone, he would say, he says.

Allah Almighty, to prove that there is no god but Allah and that thanks belong to Allah alone, His saying it belongs to Allah who brought into being darkness and light, invites people to reflection and (?) that the universe was created with knowledge and that He is the owner of that knowledge. Yes, Allah Almighty, as I said a moment ago, maybe you didn't hear, I repeat it.

He placed the lunar system, that is, the lunar calendar, in the sky. The earth turning around its own axis, and at the same time the sun turning around its own axis; and apart from that, with the earth turning around its own axis, not the sun turning around its own axis but the earth turning around the sun's axis, days and seasons it produces. The earth both turns around its own axis and turns around the sun. In this case the seasons come about. Allah Almighty created the seasons such that in 12 months, what we call seasons, in 365 days and 6 hours the earth completes its course around the sun, and these 365 days and 6 hours correspond to 12 months in the Gregorian calendar.

In this case, yes, in this sky our Lord places the constellations. The constellations. By dividing months into days, days into hours and minutes, with the earth turning around the sun's axis and at the same time turning around its own axis, the side facing the sun becomes day, and the side not facing the sun becomes night. In this case, we said (?). And since there is no life, no soul and no reason in these created things, did they by themselves set up such an order and come into being? Is this possible? Would any reason accept this? Or did these events come about by chance? The One who created the heavens and the earth, the Owner of what is between them, Allah Almighty: I created these, I invented night and day, I created them.

And I established the order of this world (?). Will you still not use your reason? He says. Yes.

What does Allah Almighty say? To prove that there is no god but Allah and that thanks belong to Allah alone, His saying it belongs to Allah who brought into being darkness and light invites people to reflection and declares to us that the universe was created with knowledge and that He is the owner of that knowledge. What is meant by darkness and light: by creating the sun He made it a lamp spreading light; by creating the earth and turning it around its own axis, the earth's diameter of 40 thousand kilometres, in 24 hours, He created night and day, that no one but Allah could do this, and that these could not come about flawlessly, within knowledge, by chance: this is what it stresses.

Yes.

Moreover, Allah Almighty, who sent people to an unseen world, although He made His essence known to people through verses, also openly proves His existence to people with many miracles. The many miracles He means: the splitting of the moon, showing Moses many miracles; and when the Prophet had dry trees, and the minbar he stood on, made, that stump's moaning, its weeping; although the Prophet proved Allah's existence to people with many miracles, will people still not come to their senses, He says. The Prophet, in his (?) sermon, would climb onto a stump and the sermon was given. Then, when a minbar was made there, he leaves the stump aside. The stump starts weeping and moaning.

Sounds come from the stump. And thereupon it speaks (?) the Prophet. I, it says, have been left forlorn, left alone. With you, it says, how nicely you used to climb onto me and give the sermon. I mean, it gains a voice, it praises the Prophet with praise and glorification. When the Prophet sees this, Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), I think, says, O Messenger of Allah, give it to me, I will put it in a corner of my garden, let it (?), he says. I think it must be Umar, if we don't forget, since I don't forget.

Although many miracles, many proofs prove Allah Almighty's existence, people still do not come to their senses. A person need not go far at all. İbrahim Fakrullah, see how beautifully he says it. I was searching for the beloved, (?) within that soul. Yes. If a person turns to himself, he is equipped with knowledge; still people are not (?) the way the human being, equipped with this knowledge, was created. The whole universe is equipped with knowledge. Yes.

Yet neither they themselves nor what they made with their hands have the power to create anything, Allah Almighty says. Moreover, people: Allah Almighty, who sent people to a hidden world, although He made His essence known to people through verses too, also openly proves His existence to people with many miracles. Miracles appear today too. Allah Almighty's miracles: as new discoveries and sciences are found, Allah's existence comes to light. The fresh and the salt being together and mixing with each other is also among our Lord's miracles.

Even after so many proofs the disbelievers still associate partners with Allah, worship idols, or, by deifying their own nafs, commit shirk against Allah. Because in the first (?) they gave their covenant that way. Yes. What does Allah Almighty say? Unless We will, you cannot will. Those who gave their covenant that way, who had their own desire and (?) wishes written for them as destiny: it is impossible that, when they come to worldly life again, they would turn back. However, by placing a Muslim into the loins of a disbeliever and a disbeliever into the loins of a Muslim, Allah Almighty, who is free from deficient attributes, so that people would not say: You created me in a land of disbelief; had You created me in a land of Islam, I would have been a Muslim; so they would not say that: by placing that Muslim soul into the loins of a disbelieving soul, into the loins of a disbelieving person, He makes Islam appear there.

And by having a disbelieving soul placed into the loins of a Muslim, here too, within that Muslim, He makes disbelief appear. In this way He shows them to one another with examples. In the world of the hereafter. Allah's attribute of being Allah. No one will be able to (?) question Him. Yes. Yet neither they themselves nor what they made with their hands have the power to create anything. Created thus helpless, they associate partners with Allah, or, by deifying their nafs and turning their backs on Allah, they make themselves witnesses, before those around them and before Allah, that they are a people who do not understand.

We will not say who do not understand, but rather that they are a people who do not use their reason; how well they make those around them and themselves witnesses to it.
