Were they (steadily) asking Us for miracles for the punishment to come swiftly?

Tafsir

Those people who keep asking Allah for miracles to make them believe in Allah know that they will not believe in Allah when Allah (swt) has written their destiny for them. In this case, are they asking for Allah's punishment by asking for miracles, as poor and helpless people who are unaware that if they do not believe, Allah's public lawsuit will catch up with them?

People who disbelieve in Allah and the Hereafter, as if their disbelief is not enough as a punishment for themselves, these people also trust in their wealth. And they swindle the wealth they trust in as a plague on their own necks. Because they compound their sins by associating partners with Allah. In this case, these people turn their backs on Allah and the Hereafter because they trust in their wealth.

What is said in the video

We have come to verse 204 of Surah Ash-Shu'ara.

"Were they, by constantly demanding miracles, asking Us to hasten the punishment?" Now, if you tell people the truth, the truth. Whichever person you tell the truth to, or whichever prophet tells people the truth, right away: may Allah rain stones on us, may Allah do this to that; they always ask for calamity for themselves. None of them asks for mercy. Pay attention. None of them asks for mercy. So what does it say here too? "Were they asking Us to hasten the punishment?" it says.

When the time comes, everyone will see the punishment. Those who constantly ask Allah for miracles in order to believe in Allah — that these people will not believe in Allah, Allah Almighty, when writing their destinies for them, knows. They will not believe. Because He has called them lying disbelievers. Even if you brought the two worlds together, they would not believe. Because destiny is like that, the mind is like that, frozen there. They believe in such a world that — people full of hatred, hostility. Against whom? Against Allah Almighty. Why? Seeing Him too in the guise of a human, out of pride and arrogance (?) Him and considering themselves superior. And so they await the Lord of their imaginations.

How they make Him horned, what they make, they make Him frightening, so to speak. As if they will prostrate before that. Yet Allah Almighty has given man very great value. What does He say? "And We created man in the most beautiful form," He says. Because He gives one (?) of those forms of His to man. In this case He holds man as addressee of His Self. Well, man asks for whatever is in his nature anyway. From Allah Almighty. What does He say? "Were they asking Us to hasten the punishment?" If, when you ask Allah for punishment, or ask for a miracle, He fulfills that miracle and you still deny it, you will be destroyed.

Those who constantly ask Allah for miracles in order to believe in Allah — that these people will not believe in Allah, Allah Almighty, when writing their destinies for them, knows. In this case, these people, unaware that if they do not believe after demanding miracles Allah's public case will seize them, as poor and helpless people, are asking for Allah's punishment. Now, what does this resemble? For example, in the time of the Prophet, destructions were lifted. The reason destruction was lifted, and his being "wa ma arsalnaka illa rahmatan lil-'alamin," and what happened then? If He says mercy to the worlds, why would (?) destruction?

Well, there is no punishment in mercy. "My mercy has surpassed My wrath," He says. It has exceeded it, says Allah Almighty. In this case, since the mercy to the worlds has come, there is no destruction, there are calamities. What a beautiful law Allah has laid down. How merciful He is. Yes.

People who deny Allah and the hereafter, as if their denial were not enough of a punishment for them, these people also rely on their wealth. They also wrap this wealth they rely on around their own necks as a burden. Because by associating partners with Allah they multiply their sins. In this case, because these people rely on their wealth, they turn their backs on Allah and the hereafter. They rely on their wealth, on their offspring, on their children, on their lineage; sir, if there is paradise, he says, in the hereafter it is my right, he says. I have wealth, I have children. I have (?), I have this, he counts.

They boast of their children and their wealth. Yes.

Yet wealth and children, (?) from the atom to the globe, whatever exists is Allah Almighty's creation, and in this case people do not own a single atom of this universe.

He does not even own what he eats and drinks. Because Allah has entrusted to man this body that eats and drinks. That trust — however that person, within his destiny, within his lifetime, within it, is to prove himself, Allah Almighty feeds that body and gives it drink. He feeds it and gives it drink. Without realizing it, when the person eats and drinks, he says, I ate, I drank. True, (?) he does it. But the giver is Allah, and he does not recognize that Allah. I took, I did, he says. I ate, he says. He does not say, He fed me. He does not say, He gave. He cannot say it. In this case the person, according to the actual deeds he himself has done, according to his deeds, receives reward and sin. Yes.
