Translation

They descend upon all those who are fond of commiting sins and slandering.

Tafsir

When people live away from Allah and turn their backs on Allah. Then they become depressed and restless. In order to relieve this restlessness, people talk, backbite, indulge in bad habits such as drinking, gambling and fornication. The devils live in peace with such people. With the temptations he gives them, he leads them into sin and makes them follow his footsteps, completely distancing them from Allah.

We have come to Surah Ash-Shu'ara, verse 222. "They descend upon everyone given to sin, to slander." Now, since he cannot get his teeth into the believer, what will he do? Those who take the devil as their guide will fall for their temptation. What will he do to him? "Hey," he says, "if you say this to so-and-so, you will swindle him, you will take his money," he says. He shows the person the ways to fall into sin and swindle someone. He sets it up. Or he says this: "His wife is beautiful. Her," he says, "you can seduce; she is already drawn to you," he says. He has his eye on her, you see, on her. In this way, upon every sinner who makes every kind of trickery his banner and goes after it.

"They descend upon everyone given to sin and slander." I was in Arabia. You know, after a traffic accident I went to prison there. With the traffic accident, we said, let us help. It ended up on us. You know about those things.

Someone came there. A young lad. Now, they ask whoever comes there. One of them says, "I am a kapş haramı," he says. That is, "I am a sheep thief," he says. And they cut off his hand. So one tells this, another tells that. One said, "The one he calls emir set his eye on my wife. With me around he cannot (?), that is, he cannot take my wife. He had me thrown in prison," he said. "Just to have a relationship with her," he said. There you have it. There you have it.

Look at the city's (?). In a place like Mecca. The grandchildren of idolaters. The grandchildren of the Abu Jahls. Yes. What things have we witnessed? How did our Lord raise us? Yes.
