“I will send a present to them, and I will see what (outcome) the messengers will return with.”

Tafsir

Thereupon, the ruler, the queen, addressed the beys and elders around her and said, "I will now send a gift to Suleiman. Let's see how Suleiman will react to these gifts and envoys. We will act according to his attitude. Thereupon, he sent messengers to Hadrat Süleyman 'alaihis-salâm' with precious gifts.

According to the narrations, Belkis, the Queen of Seba, sent many slaves, concubines, jewels and very precious fabrics to Prophet Solomon. She sent these gifts with the intention that if Solomon was a Prophet, he would not accept them. If he is not a Prophet, he will accept the gifts because they will please him.

Although we have written here about the types of gifts, they are nothing more than narrations. The gifts have not been revealed to us in a word that we can understand. Therefore, what these gifts are is in the knowledge of Allah.

What is said in the video

Now I will send them a gift. The Queen will now send a gift. Now I will send them a gift and see with what result the envoys return. She doesn't suddenly say: become Muslims, you see.

So that things don't go strangely, you know. Let us first send a gift and see what they will say. Thereupon the Queen, the ruler, addressing the lords and nobles around her: I will now send Solomon a gift. Let us see what attitude Solomon will take toward these gifts and envoys. We will act according to the attitude he takes, she says; thereupon, with valuable gifts, she sends envoys to Solomon (peace be upon him). According to the narrations, the Queen of Sheba, Bilqis, sent Solomon (peace be upon him) many slaves, slave girls, jewels, very precious fabrics. The Queen's aim in sending these gifts was this: if Solomon is a prophet, he will not accept these gifts.

If he is not a prophet, since these gifts will please him, he will accept them. Although we have written down the kinds of gifts here, it is no more than narrations. The gifts were not made known to us in words we could understand. Therefore we said that what these gifts were lies in Allah's knowledge.
