Tafsir
Those who do injustice to themselves; The meaning of this verse is that those who do not use the intellect that Allah (swt) has given to human beings, those who associate partners with Allah (swt) even though their intellect knows Allah (swt), and those who disbelieve in Allah (swt) and are subjected to punishment in the Hereafter, are the people who have pity and injustice to themselves.
When the angels take the lives of such people, they say, "We were not doing any evil. These people, who are used to telling lies, think that they will deceive the angels and Allah by telling lies even in death. In this way, the disbelievers, who are accustomed to getting their words done in this world, surrender their lives to the angel in charge, thinking that they will be saved in the Hereafter by what they say.
And the angels will say to those who disbelieve: "Nay, Allah is well aware of what you do. There is nothing hidden or concealed in Allah's sight, open or concealed, that Allah is not aware of. Allah is to Him the light of the day and the darkness of the night. Whatever people's intentions are and what they put into action and what they have in their hearts are one and the same for Him. He knows everything best. If a person does not put into action what is in his heart, he will not be sinned against. However, if he has a good deed in his heart but is unable to do it, Allah will still give him a reward.
What is said in the video
Surah An-Nahl, verse 28. While they are wronging themselves, those whose souls the angels take, saying "We were doing no evil", submit. The angels say to them: No, Allah certainly knows very well what you did. Of course, every soul will defend itself. How will it defend itself? Would it want harm to come to itself? It will say: we were right in this religion. But what do the angels say? Allah knows best what you did. Those who wrong themselves — the meaning from this verse: those who do not use the mind Allah Almighty gave to man, those who, though their minds know Allah, associate partners with Allah, and those who, denying Allah, are exposed to punishment in the Hereafter — they are people who have done harm and wrong to themselves.
When the angels come to take the souls of such people, they say: "We were doing no evil." These people, used to lying, even while dying think they will deceive the angels and Allah by lying. Thus the unbelievers, used to having their words obeyed while in the world, in the Hereafter too, thinking they will be saved by what they say, hand their souls over to the angel on duty. Yes.
The angels, however, say to these unbelievers: No, Allah, what you did, certainly knows very well. With Allah there is nothing hidden and concealed, or manifest and open, that Allah is not aware of. Whatever the light of day is, the darkness of night is the same to Him. As for people's intentions, putting them into action and what passes through the heart are, to Him, the same. He knows everything best. But if a person does not put into action what passes through his heart, he incurs no sin. But if something good passes through his heart and his strength or his hand is not enough to do it, Allah still gives this person a reward.
Here it shows so beautifully how great a possessor of mercy Allah Almighty is, how great a possessor of grace. Something evil passes through my heart, but I don't do it. Why? I master my nafs. I say: this is a sin. I would have committed a sin against my Lord. He gives you neither reward nor sin. But if something good passes — oh, if only I too had laid a brick for that mosque. Oh, if only I had it in hand right now to give that poor person some money too. He still gives a reward. Yes.
