He hides from his people for the evil of the glad tidings. Should he keep her by his side in humiliation or bury her into the ground? See how falsely they judge!
Tafsir
People who received the good news of daughters would feel insulted by these children and would try to hide from their people. They would be unable to appear in public. Should he keep this child with him or bury her alive? Look at the decisions these people made. Pride and arrogance are also the traps that Satan sets in front of people. Those who do not fear Allah, with a sense of irresponsibility that leads people to destruction.
When the wives of these people give birth, they hide themselves. After the birth, if the child was a boy, they would come out and boast. If it was a girl, they would remain in hiding for a few days. In the meantime they would think, and if the existence of a girl child was too much for them, they would bury it alive in a pit and cover it up. Thus he rebels against Allah and buys the torment of Hell for his arrogance and pride in this world.
What is said in the video
Surah An-Nahl, verse 59: Because of the evil of the tidings given to him, he hides from his people. Shall he keep it with him in humiliation, or bury it in the ground? Look how evil is the judgment they make, it says. Look how evil is the judgment they make.
People to whom the news of a daughter came would, considering themselves insulted by these children, try to hide from their people. They would come to a state where one cannot show one's face. In that case, should he keep this child with him, or bury it alive in the ground? Look at the foolishness of man. Weren't daughters supposed to be Allah's? Well, if they are Allah's, if Allah's trust, as Allah's child, has been given to you, has come to you, instead of being proud, this time you hide. So you don't even want to accept a trust from Allah, and on Allah you have turned your back as well; you say, the daughters a being like you would entrust to me, I have no need of them.
How well we understand here that people, in the circle of ignorance, with what they invented by their own reasoning, are in darkness, in a swamp, unable to see the way ahead of them — this we understand so well here. Look at the decisions of these people, at pride and arrogance, and at the same time at the traps Satan sets before man, at those who, with a sense of irresponsibility that drags people to destruction, do not fear Allah. While their wives give birth, these people hide themselves. After the birth, if the child is a boy, they come out and boast. But if it is a girl, they keep hiding for a few days.
Meanwhile he thinks it over, and if the existence of the daughter weighs on him, he would bury her alive in a pit and cover it over. Thus they rebel against Allah, and because of their worldly arrogance and pride they buy the punishment of Hell.
