Al-Kahf 15: This nation of ours has adopted other deities besides Allah. If only they could bring clear proofs regarding those deities. (Impossible!) Thus, is there anyone else who is a greater oppressor than the one who fabricates lies about Allah?”

Translation

This nation of ours has adopted other deities besides Allah. If only they could bring clear proofs regarding those deities. (Impossible!) Thus, is there anyone else who is a greater oppressor than the one who fabricates lies about Allah?”

Tafsir

Ashab-ı Kehf said to his people, "This is our people, they have taken gods other than Allah," and they felt sorry for them and tried to wake them up. But once a person turns his back on Allah. If a person is destined to disbelieve in Allah and the Hereafter, how can you correct him?

In order to awaken these people, they appealed to the minds of their people, saying that if only they could bring clear proof that these invented gods were gods. They gave warnings to their people. But where is it? It is not possible for them to have clear proof that they are gods. The objects which people associate with Allah are also created by Allah. Moreover, it is indeed a pitiable and sad event that although Allah has created human beings the most honorable and placed beings at their disposal, man, out of his stubbornness and arrogance, submits himself to the beings at his disposal and takes inanimate beings into his hands and seeks help from them.

So when Allah says, "Who is more unjust than he who fabricates a lie against Allah?", this verse clearly states that these people are unjust to their own souls and that a painful and painful torment will be upon them in the Hereafter. This is because Allah (swt) says, "disobey Allah first and then your parents" when mentioning the great sins. When people associate partners with Allah and Allah says of them, "Who is more unjust than he who lies about Allah?" it is clear that the greatest punishment in the Hereafter will fall on those who associate partners with Allah.

Allah (swt) has given the intellect to man as the greatest blessing. A person who uses his intellect, not with his nafs but with his intellect, will find the Truth. The one who finds the truth is saved.

Surah Al-Kahf, verse 15. These people of ours have taken gods besides Allah. If only they would bring a clear proof about these gods. How could they? So who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allah, it says. More unjust. The Companions of the Cave, saying of their people, these people of ours have taken gods besides Allah, grieved on their behalf and tried to awaken their people. But once a person turns his back on Allah... If it is in a person's destiny not to believe in Allah and the hereafter, how could anyone bring him to the right path? To awaken these people, appealing to the minds of their people, they said: if only they could bring a clear proof about the invented gods that they are gods.

They gave warnings to their people. But where would that be? How could they have a clear proof in their hands that they are gods? The things to which people ascribe partnership with Allah are also beings created by Allah as well. Moreover, how sad it is that, although Allah created humans as the most honorable and placed the beings under people's command, man, out of stubbornness and arrogance, submits to the command of the beings given under his command, and with his hands lifeless objects (?) and seeks help from them; this is truly a pitiful and saddening event. So, in view of this, who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allah Almighty?

That these people are wrongdoers against their own selves, and that in the hereafter a painful and agonizing punishment will be upon them, this verse clearly declares. Because when Allah Almighty tells of the major sins, He says: first rebelling against Allah, then against mother and father. Man ascribes partners to Allah, and when Allah Almighty says of these people, who is more unjust than one who tells lies about Allah, it becomes clear that in the hereafter the greatest punishment will be upon those who ascribe partners to Allah. Allah Almighty gave man reason as the greatest blessing. A person who uses his reason, if he goes with his reason and not his nafs, finds the truth, and whoever finds the truth attains salvation.
