Al-Kahf 17: (If you were there) you would see the sun. When it was rising, it inclined towards the right of their cave, and when it set, it passed by without touching them. (Without being disturbed by the sun) they were (sleeping) in a corner of the cave. This is from the miracles of Allah. Those who desire guidance from Allah have found guidance. And those who do not desire guidance, you cannot find a friend who will direct them towards the truth.

Translation

(If you were there) you would see the sun.

Tafsir

Allah's address to the Prophet (s.a.w.) is an address to all human beings. Because the Prophet is (vema erselnake illa rahmatan lil alemin). He came as a mercy to all the worlds. In this case, Allah's address to the Prophet (s.a.w.) is indirectly addressed to mankind.

Moreover, the Qur'an was revealed for the guidance of all people. Allah (swt) addressed the indirect people (Rasulum! If you had been there, you would have seen the sun; when it rises, it would move to the right of their cave and when it sets, it would pass to the left without hitting them). In this way Allah, in His omniscience, created miracles by turning the sun around the cave without causing any inconvenience to the brave youth. Allah knew in His foreknowledge that these events would happen, so before the world was created, knowing that these brave men would take refuge here, Allah created the world in such a way that when the earth rotates, the sun will illuminate the cave of Kehf from sunrise to sunset, but it will not disturb the people inside.

If we give an example of this event; A student of Hazrat Ibrahim Hakkı loved his teacher very much. When his teacher passed away, he said that if I did not make this sun shine on the grave of my teacher from sunrise to sunset, I would break the sun. So he had such a tower built that with a mirror he put there, the sun would hit the head of his teacher's grave from sunrise to sunset. Then when this tower moved, they could not fix the zawiya of this mirror and put it in its place.

If a person can make the sun beat on his teacher's head from sunrise to sunset, it would not be difficult for Allah, who created the universe with His knowledge, to make the sun revolve around the cave of Kehf from sunrise to sunset.

(This is one of the Signs of Allah). The meaning of this verse is the miracles of Allah's omniscience. This is how Allah proves His omnipotence to people through His knowledge.

(Whoever seeks guidance from Allah, he has reached the Truth. And whoever does not ask for guidance, you will not find for him a friend who will guide him to the Truth). People who believe and have faith in Allah (swt) ask Allah for guidance. They enter the straight path of Allah. They enlighten their way with the Verses of Allah. They cling to the Verses as evidence. Such people will attain the mercy of Allah. They are the ones who reach Allah and become the kind of servants Allah wants them to be. These are the people who have won the Hereafter and achieved true victory while living on earth.

And whoever turns away from the guidance of Allah, that is, does not believe in the Books that Allah has sent, does not believe in Allah and the Hereafter, is arrogant and proud of his own ego, looking for shortcomings in the Verses of Allah, disbelieves in Allah, dislikes His Verses, falls for the temptation that Satan has given him, follows tagut, and does not compromise his ego, you will not find them a friend who will guide them to the truth. This is because these people have not accepted the right path and have rejected and despised those who are on the right path. In this respect, since the people around them are people who are traveling on crooked and swampy paths like him, and since they do not accept a friend who can lead them to the right path, they can never find a friend to reach the Truth, nor can they find the right path.

When people live in the world, they do not see that the path they are on is a path of quicksand, they see the world as a place of entertainment and play. They follow the desires and wishes of the events that caress their nafs. When they pass on to the Hereafter in this state, their destination will be Hell. What an evil place of return.

What is said in the video

Surah Al-Kahf, verse 17. This too is a verse that is interpreted wrongly. First let us read the wrong one. Verse 17. My Messenger, if you had been there, you would have seen the sun. When it rose, it inclined to the right of their caves, and when it set it passed by them on the left without touching them. Thus, without being disturbed by the sunlight, they slept in a corner of the cave. This is among the signs of Allah. Whomever Allah guides, he has reached the truth. And whomever He deprives of guidance, you will find no friend to direct him rightly. Allah neither leads anyone to guidance nor keeps anyone from guidance. What does it say?

And whom Allah, whom to guidance, whomever He guides, it says. Allah does not guide anyone. That person wants to attain guidance by his own will. Yes.

And whoever He deprives of guidance, and whomever He deprives of guidance, there is no one to lead him to the right path, it says. No one to direct him. Allah, Allah Almighty does not keep anyone, well, anyone from guidance back. To a person who wants to attain guidance and to know Allah, can Allah Almighty say: You shall not know Me, I do not love you? Yes. My Messenger, if you had been there, you would have seen the sun; when it rose, it inclined to the right of their caves, and when it set it passed by them on the left without touching them. Thus, without being disturbed by the sunlight, in a corner of the cave they slept. This is among the signs of Allah.

Whoever asks Allah for guidance, he has reached the truth. And whoever does not ask for guidance, you will find no friend to direct him to what is right, it says. This is the correct one.

Allah Almighty addressing the Prophet (peace be upon him) is His address to all people. Because the Prophet (peace be upon him) came as a mercy to all the worlds. In this case, Allah Almighty's address to the Prophet (peace be upon him) is indirectly to people. Moreover, the Quran was revealed for the guidance of all people. Allah Almighty, addressing people indirectly: My Messenger, if you had been there, you would have seen the sun; when it rose, it inclined to the right of their caves, and when it set it passed by them on the left without touching them. In this way Allah, with His knowledge and power, without causing the valiant youths any disturbance, made the sun circle around the cave and created miracles. Because Allah knew in His eternal knowledge that these events would happen, Allah, who knew before the world was created that these valiant ones would take refuge here, created the world in such a way that, when the world turns, the sun around the Cave of Kahf, from rising to setting, would light up the cave, but would not cause the persons inside any disturbance; He created this cave in such a way.

To give an example of this event: a student of Hazrat Ibrahim Hakki loved his teacher very much. Here, not a student of Hazrat Ibrahim Hakki, but Hazrat Ibrahim Hakki himself. Yes. Sir, allow us to correct this part. Then let us continue with our thing. Let us continue with our lesson.

Let us put it this way. Hazrat Ibrahim Hakki, Hazrat,

Hazrat's teacher, we will say here.

When Hazrat Ibrahim Hakki's teacher passed on to the hereafter: If I do not make this sun, from its rising to its setting, shine on the head of my teacher's grave, I will shatter the sun, he said. Thereupon he had such a tower built that, with a mirror he placed there, the sun, from its rising to its setting, would shine on his teacher's head end until it set. Later, when this tower was shifted from its place, they could not get the angle of this mirror right and put it back in place.

So this person, so if a person can make the sun, from its rising to its setting, shine on his teacher's head end, then for Allah, who created the universe with His knowledge, turning the sun from its rising to its setting around the Cave of Kahf is not difficult for Allah. This is among the signs of Allah. The meaning in this verse is the miracles of Allah's knowledge and power. Allah thus proves to people with His knowledge that He is capable of everything. Whoever asks Allah for guidance, he has reached the truth. And whoever does not ask for guidance, you will not find a friend to direct him to what is right either.

People who believe in Allah Almighty and have faith ask Allah for guidance. They enter Allah's straight path. They light their way with Allah's verses. They hold fast to the verses as proof. Such people attain Allah's mercy. These are the ones who reach Allah and become servants as Allah wishes. These are the ones who, while living on earth, win the hereafter and attain true victory.

And whoever turns away from Allah's guidance, if they turn their backs, that is, do not believe in the books Allah sent, do not have faith in Allah and the hereafter, if with his own nafs, in arrogance and pride, searching for flaws in Allah's verses, without considering his creation from a lowly fluid, he denies Allah, disdains His verses, is deceived by the temptation Satan has given him, follows the taghut, and from his nafs (?), then you will not find a friend to lead these to what is right either. Because these people have not accepted the right path and have shunned the people on the right path; they are people who have looked down on them.

For this reason, since the people around them too are, like him, people walking on crooked and swampy paths, and since these do not accept a friend who would lead them to the right path, they can never find a friend to reach the truth, nor find the right path. While living in the world, people do not see that the path they walk is a path of swamp; they see the world as a place of amusement and play. They follow events, desires and wishes that flatter their nafs. When these pass on to the hereafter in this state, the place where they will end up is hell. What an evil place of return that is.
