(Some people) will say; “They stayed in their cave three hundred years, and nine years in addition.”
Tafsir
Ashab-ı Kehf slept in their caves for three hundred and nine years. Allah (swt) then woke them up. Is this time in sleep according to the Gregorian calendar or the lunar calendar? Even if you know these three hundred and nine years, how many months, how many days, how many hours, how many minutes and seconds have passed in sleep after that, Allah knows best.

Surah Al-Kahf, verse 25. In their cave, 300 years and in addition 9 years, they remained. The Companions of the Cave slept in their cave for 309 years. Thereupon Allah Almighty woke them up. Is the time that passed in this sleep by the Gregorian calendar? Or is it by the lunar calendar? Even if you know these 309 years, how many months, how many days, how many hours, or how many minutes and seconds beyond that they spent asleep – Allah knows best what is most correct about this.
