And on that day, (Allah will say to the deniers); “Call the things you claimed to be My partners.” They will be called, but will not answer. We will place a dangerous abyss between them.
Tafsir
Allah (swt) will say to those who associate partners with Allah on the Day of Judgment, "Call those whom you associate with Me. When those who associate partners with Allah will call their partners, not a sound will be heard from any of them. Those who put their hope in other than Allah will be disappointed on that Day and will look for help from others in confusion and fear.
Allah has placed a dangerous gulf between those who associate partners with Him and the objects they associate partners with. The meaning of this dangerous gulf is that those who associate partners with Allah out of arrogance and stubbornness are unjust to their souls, and the objects they associate partners with are unaware of what they associate partners with. In this respect, the guilty ones are those who deify them.
Those who worship the servants created by Allah as gods are the people of Hell, the people whom Allah says are on the edge of a deep abyss. The others, that is, the objects worshipped by those who are cruel to their souls, are inanimate, made of stone or earth, and are made up gods made by their own hands. Since the world is hellish, these inanimate objects are also hellish. There they will disappear.
When people who are cruel to their nafs, the people of hell, worship living beings, such as Jesus Christ or Uzeyr, calling them the sons of Allah and worshipping the angels as their daughters, Jesus Christ and Uzeyr, as well as the angels, are clear of what these people say. These are Prophets. The others are also angels. Of course, there will be a deep pit between these people of hell and the Prophets and angels of Allah. That is to say, those who are cruel to their own souls, those who have fallen from the mercy of Allah, are the people of Hell, and there will surely be gulfs between them and those whom they worship as gods, and those who live under the mercy of Allah, with the best rewards that Allah deems worthy, and as the masters of the abode of eternal bliss.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-Kahf, verse 52. And think of that day when Allah says to the disbelievers: Call those you claimed to be My partners. Which day? At the Great Court, when Allah Almighty calls those disbelievers to account: Where are My partners? You associated partners with Me, didn't you? Call them, let Me see, He says. What does it say? And think of that day when Allah says to the disbelievers: Call those you claimed to be My partners. They called them, but they did not answer them. We placed a perilous chasm between them. Perilous. That is, those objects they worshipped vanished and were gone. They were beings Allah created.
They will say: Our Lord — they will be given speech, those beings they worshipped — Our Lord, we had no knowledge that these worshipped us, You know everything best, they will say, and they vanish; the chasms between them He speaks of — these, who can never again attain salvation, that chasm He speaks of, from which no benefit can be had from anywhere — having associated partners with Allah, at the moment those vanish, into Hell, which He calls that chasm, they will be thrown. Yes. Allah Almighty, on the Day of Resurrection, on that Day of Reckoning, will say to those who associate partners with Allah: Call those you associated with Me, let's see, He will say.
When those who associate partners with Allah call the partners they associated, not a sound will come from any of them. Those who placed their hope in others besides Allah will on that day, ruined, look around for help in bewilderment and fear.
Allah Almighty has placed between those who associate partners with Him and the objects they associate a perilous chasm. The meaning of this perilous chasm: out of arrogance and stubbornness, those who associate partners with Allah Almighty are wrongdoers against their own nafs, whereas the objects they associate are unaware of their being associated. So the guilty are those who deify them. So, the people of whom He says that those who worship as god the servants Allah created are at the edge of a deep chasm, are the people of Hell. As for the others, that is, the objects worshipped by those who wrong their own nafs, since they are lifeless, of stone or earth, they are invented gods that people made with their own hands.
Since the world is destined for Hell anyway, these lifeless objects too are destined for Hell. There they will vanish. As for the living beings worshipped by the people of Hell who wrong their own nafs, for example, when they call Jesus or Ezra the son of Allah and say the angels are His daughters, and worship these, Jesus and Ezra, and likewise the angels, are free of what these people say. These are prophets, and the others are angels. Surely between these people of Hell and Allah's prophets and angels there will be a deep pit. Yes, that is, those who wrong their own nafs, people left far from Allah Almighty's mercy, being people of Hell — between them and the others, these distinguished people they worshipped as gods, who under Allah's mercy, with the finest rewards Allah Almighty deemed fitting, live as masters of the abode of eternal bliss, there will surely be deep chasms.
