Tafsir
Allah is the All-knowing. He is the Creator and the All-Mindful. Allah is the Creator out of nothing. He is complete and perfect, free from incomplete attributes. Allah's speech is based on letters. Allah knows what a single letter means and what it signifies. In this respect, Hazrat Ali radiyallahu anh said that if I wrote camels' loads of writing on the letter elif alone, I would still not be able to finish its meaning.
In this case, since Allah's speech on letters, which is His own language, and the secret of creating the worlds is unique to His Essence, if these streams were ink, and as many times as these streams were added again, the waters of the streams would be exhausted before Allah's speech is finished.
All these realms have an end and a quantity. It is limited within a certain framework. Allah is infinite. Therefore, what is limited and limited in a certain amount will surely come to an end. But Allah is infinite, eternal and continuous. The worlds are in need of Allah. Allah does not need anything. Therefore, if the creations were to be written with the word of Allah, these seas and the worlds would be lost in the Essence of Allah (swt). In this case, the water of the seas will run out, but the word of Allah will not run out.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-Kahf, verse 109. "Say: if, for the words of my Lord, the sea were ink, and even if We brought as much again, before the words of my Lord ran out, the seas would be exhausted," He says. He says. That is naturally so. Their Creator is Allah. Those seas, under His command, are perhaps as much as a bottle of ink. Yes. Allah Almighty is All-Knowing. He is the Creator and possessor of universal intellect. Allah is the One who brings into being from nothing. Now when we speak like this, some people say: he has ascribed attributes to Allah. He made Him a possessor of intellect. Well, without intellect, would Allah speak?
Without intellect, could this knowledge come about? Without intellect, could creation take place? Could creation, bringing into being from nothing, take place? Without intellect, this knowledge, the creation of this whole universe, one within the other, in an order: by what does it come about? It comes about by intellect. Now a saying of Imam al-Ghazali comes to my mind. He says, he says it about Abu Malik. He says that Malik, at the House of Allah, that the Black Stone is not the hand of Allah Almighty, he says. Allah Almighty has no hand, he says. That is not His hand either, he says. And Allah has no hand, he says.
Who says this? Imam Malik says it.
About this, Imam al-Ghazali says the following. He says: Imam Malik too knows that Allah has a hand, but so that ta'wil is not done; when ta'wil is done it opens breaches, toward Sufism, in Sufism, to (?), it leads to deviation. He said it this way to block that, he says. Yes. Allah Almighty manifests Himself to us exactly in human form. Exactly, completely in human form He manifests Himself. And in the address "Elestü bi Rabbiküm" He, with His essence, from His essence, makes a covenant with us. So, if I cannot show you a verse for this word I told you, do not believe it.
If you cannot show a verse, do not believe it. You know, Allah Almighty sends the accursed one to the Prophet. "Sir, if you are going to sit, you will answer," He says. Thereupon he says, "O Aba Murra." He says, (?), if you did not answer, he says. If I did not answer truthfully, Allah, he says, will burn me and scatter my ashes into the air. That is why I will answer you truthfully, he says. To everything asked, to everything the Prophet asks, he answers with verses. The Prophet says exactly this. If you had not shown the verses, I would never have believed you, he says. And if I do not show you a verse, do not believe me.
Not one verse, I will mention two. I will not mention the others.
When the Prophet ascended on the Mi'raj, on his way down at Sidrat al-Muntaha he saw once more. He stood upright in His true form, he says. So this true form is the form in which, in the address Elestü bi Rabbiküm, with His essence we made a covenant. The form. The second. The second verse. Do they have a tongue that speaks, an eye that sees, a hand that holds, a foot that walks? He says. Well, what does this mean?
Since He created man as the most honorable. Animals too have such a tongue, eyes, feet, but they do not speak like us. Moreover, if Allah Almighty created man as the noblest of creatures, that is, created him as the most honorable of all created beings, why does He create him? He creates him for a part of His spirit and (?). If Allah Almighty made him an addressee of His essence, will He make other forms addressees of His essence? Whom will He make so? He will make the noblest of creatures the addressee of His essence.
Are we, as humans, made addressees of a cat or a dog? Except those who are. You know, I will not say the name of one of them. As he says in his song, "şek şek şek şek arkadaşı meşşek". Well, may Allah protect us.
Repentance, astaghfirullah.
Now let us return to our lesson. So, if the sea were ink for the words of my Lord and even if We brought as much again, the seas would run dry before the words of my Lord ran out. Allah Almighty is All-Knowing; He is the Creator and possessor of universal intellect. Allah brings into being from nothing; He is free from deficient attributes, perfect and complete. Allah's speech is in letters; what the meaning of a single letter intends and what it means, Allah knows best. That is why Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, said: if on the letter alif alone I wrote camel-loads of text, I still could not exhaust its meaning.
In that case, since Allah's speech in letters, which is His own language, and the secret by which He created the worlds are exclusive to His essence, if these seas were ink and as much as these seas were added once more, before Allah Almighty's speech ended, the water of the seas would run out. He even says, if the trees were pens. Yes, all these worlds have an end and an amount. They are limited within a certain frame. Allah, however, is infinite. Therefore what has a certain amount and is limited will surely come to an end. But Allah is infinite, everlasting and enduring; He is al-Hayy, that is, the Living. The worlds are in need of Allah.
Allah has need of nothing. Therefore, if the created things were to be put in writing with Allah's word, even with these seas and as much again added, the worlds would vanish in the essence of Allah Almighty. In that case, the water of the streams runs out; Allah's word does not run out.
