Translation

Those young men sought refuge in a cave and said; “Oh Our Dear Lord! Give us mercy from Your side and prepare for us an escape from this matter.”

Tafsir

The people of Ashab-ı Kehf started to worship idols. At the same time, the king who ruled the state was also an idolater, so he invited these young people to worship idols too. But these brave young men, who knew no other god but Allah, stood up to their king and said, "If we worship anyone other than Allah, then we would be speaking nonsense. For we believe in one God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth. So the king had them thrown into a dungeon. Finding a way out of the dungeon, these young men escaped from the king's cruelty and took refuge in a cave. The king followed their trail and trapped them in the cave. But Allah, Who gave these brave young men a sleep, protected them against their enemies in the cave. Before Allah (swt) put them to sleep, Ashab-ı Kehf prayed to Allah (swt), "O Allah, prepare for us a way of salvation from the situation we are in and give us a mercy from your side. In response to their prayers, Allah (swt) gives them sleep and protects them from their enemies without showing them.

This is one of the miracles of Allah (swt) to mankind. As we have explained in the previous verse, Allah (swt) never fails to show people many signs and wonders to prove His existence. This incident is one of these examples.

What is said in the video

We have come to verse 10 of Surah Al-Kahf.

"Those brave young men took refuge in the cave and said, 'Our Lord, grant us mercy from Yourself and prepare for us a way out of this situation of ours.'" Indeed, this is the most correct; Allah Almighty says they were in the cave, and that when they came out of the cave, in the city they went to for food, the person found this as a treasure and took it to the king, took the (?), and that from there again these were people of earlier times, centuries earlier, whom people had heard of through hearsay, and that they followed them and found them in the cave, and that no one could enter that cave; Allah Almighty tells it so beautifully.

He tells it. So the Companions of the Cave were truly brave people. Against the king of that time they stood up and tried to explain everything to the king in the best way. And never worshipping the idols the king worshipped, they left their homes.

"Those brave young men took refuge in the cave and said, 'Our Lord, grant us mercy from Yourself and prepare for us a way out of this situation of ours.'" This is verse 10 of Surah Al-Kahf. The people of the Companions of the Cave had begun to worship idols. And since the king who ruled the state was also an idolater, they invited these young men too to worship idols. But the (?) brave young men, who knew no god but Allah, stood against the kingdom and said, "If we worship anyone other than Allah, then we will have said something absurd." Yes.

"For we believe in one single god, the Creator of the heavens and the earth," they said. Thereupon the king had them thrown into the dungeon. Finding a way out of the dungeon, these young men escaped the king's oppression and took refuge in a cave. The king, having their tracks followed, cornered them in the cave. But Allah, who gave these brave young men a sleep, in the cave, against their enemies, protected them. Before Allah Almighty put these young men to sleep, the Companions of the Cave entreated Allah Almighty and prayed: "O Allah, prepare for us a way out of the situation we are in and grant us mercy from Yourself." Prepare a way out.

What is that way out? Our Lord puts them to sleep. He raises them hundreds of years later. Three hundred and some years, three hundred years. Some say three hundred, some three hundred and three, some three hundred and seven. Allah knows best. So this is one of Allah Almighty's miracles full of lessons for people. As we explained earlier in a verse, to prove His existence to people, Allah Almighty never refrains from showing many miracles full of lessons. This event too is one of these lessons. Yes. They live 300, 300 years and yet they return, they come; there they are asleep. Right now they still have not died.

They still have not died. Well, what does it say? A proverb: "I won't rise at 1500, I won't reach 1600." That is, the coming of the Day of Judgment too, (?) at 1500. Well, in one narration, again, the Mahdi (peace be upon him), that is, the Prophet himself in person, the Mahdi. Well, and the coming of Jesus into the world. Perhaps the Companions of the Cave will come then too, Allah knows best. Then 40 more years; after these have reigned, after the Mahdi has reigned, after 40 years the world will (?) come to its end.
