Translation

And mention Mary in the Book. (Recall) when she departed from her family to a place in the east.

Tafsir

In this Surah, Allah (swt) mentions His Prophets whose births were miraculous. God is omnipotent and God is omniscient and proves His existence with His knowledge and power through superhuman miracles beyond human comprehension.

After telling us how Hadrat John was born to an old father and a barren mother and that this was not difficult for Allah (swt), Allah (swt) tells us in a second miraculous way how Hadrat Maryam became pregnant with Hadrat Jesus without a man's hand touching her. In this respect, the Prophet (PBUH) says to our Prophet (PBUH), "Remember Maryam in the Book.

There are many hidden secrets in this verse. It is better not to make them known, as people will be confused if they are revealed. The only thing is that when it is said in this verse, (Behold, he was separated from his family and withdrew to a place on the eastern side), it means that the Prophet (PBUH) saw and knew about these situations before he entered the world. In this respect, Allah (swt) reminds the Prophet (s.a.w.) by saying to him (mention Maryam in the Book) that he had retreated to a place on the eastern side.

The retreat of the Holy Virgin Mary to a place on the eastern side is the retreat to the altar of the Temple, which is on the eastern side. In this respect, Christians have adopted the east as their qibla.

Surah Maryam, verse 16 My Messenger, mention Mary in the Book too, when she withdrew from her family to a place on the east side. In this surah Allah Almighty tells of His prophets whose births were miraculous. That Allah has power over all things.

Here we say 'in this surah Allah Almighty tells of His prophets whose births were miraculous', but prophets who are miraculous, miraculously, (?). Those whose births were miraculous, it tells of them.

Of the one, of Mary, of Mary. Yes, what did we say? In this surah Allah Almighty tells of Mary, among those whose births were miraculous. That Allah has power over all things, and that Allah, being All-Knowing, proves His existence through His knowledge and power with superhuman miracles that the human mind cannot grasp. Yes.

After making known how John was born of an old father and a barren mother and that this was not hard for Allah, as a second miracle Allah Almighty makes known how Mary, without a man touching her, became pregnant with Jesus. For this reason, to the Prophet (peace be upon him): 'mention Mary in the Book too', it is found — He says. There are many hidden secrets in this verse. Because people would be confused if these were opened up, it is better that they not be known. Only this much: in the verse, its saying 'when she withdrew from her family to a place on the east side' means that the Prophet (peace be upon him), before honouring the world with his coming, saw and knew these events.

For this reason Allah Almighty, saying to the Prophet (peace be upon him) 'mention Mary in the Book too', giving the Prophet (peace be upon him) a reminder, says: 'when she withdrew to a place on the east side'.

Mary's withdrawing to a place on the east side is her withdrawing, on the east side of the temple, to her prayer niche located there. For this reason the Christians took the east as their qibla.
