They plotted a trap, and We (also) plotted a trap, while they were unaware.
Tafsir
When these wicked people were plotting to kill Hazrat Salih (peace be upon him) and his family, Allah (swt) caught them before they had a chance to do so and thwarted their plans.
These evil people did not find time to carry out their plans. Allah (swt) destroyed this people along with those who followed them.
No power can change what is written with Allah, and nothing can be done in secret from Allah. Allah knows not only what people do but also what is in their hearts. But if what is in their hearts is evil, they will not receive any sin until they act upon it. If it is goodness that is in their hearts, because of Allah's mercy, they will still receive a reward, even if they are unable to put their good deeds into action.
What is said in the video
We have come to Surah An-Naml, verse 50. They set such a trap. And We overturned their plans without them realizing it, says Allah Almighty. Yes, now, Allah Almighty says in the verse: If We do not will, you cannot will. This: directly, with Us there is a book that in the Preserved Tablet is preserved; neither any addition nor any omission is made to it afterwards, He says. Moreover, in the address "Elestü bi-Rabbiküm", the covenant you gave Us We wrote down as destiny. There is no one in the universe other than Me who can change this, He says. A word has also come from Us. (?) In this case, only We can change destinies.
Our (?) too has been removed, He says. Why? Because We wrote everyone's destiny for him and gave it to him. And it will not change again, He says. In this case, Allah Almighty, since these traps of theirs are outside people's destinies: they prepare a trap, and We too prepare a trap, but We are the best of those who set traps, He says. The reason for "We are the best" here is that traps not within their destinies He undoes. The traps within their destinies He brings to light, making the person prove it to himself. This is the meaning of the verse. They set such a trap. And We overturned their plans without them realizing it.
So, while such evil people were preparing their plans to kill Prophet Salih (peace be upon him) together with his family and do away with him, Allah Almighty, without giving their plans a chance, seized them and overturned their plans. These evil people found no time to carry out their plans. Allah Almighty destroyed this people together with those who followed these people.
The events written with Allah, no power can change, and no deed can be done hidden from Allah. Besides what people do, Allah also knows what passes through their hearts. But what passes through hearts, if it is evil, as long as it is not put into action, they do not incur a sin. If what passes through hearts is good, out of Allah's mercy these people, even if they do not put these good deeds into action, still receive a reward. Yes.
