Translation
They said, “who did this to our deities? Verily, he is one of the oppressors.”
Tafsir
When the people of the city returned from the fair or the festival, they found that their idols had been broken, and only the great idol was still standing, and they said, "Who did this to our gods, surely he is one of the wrongdoers?
In this way, Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) taught these people a lesson and seized the opportunity to expose their ignorance. Because when they realize that it was Abraham who did it, they will call Abraham and he will say that if he broke these idols, it was the great idol that broke them, and since his people know that this idol is not capable of anything, they will realize that their worshippers are not capable of anything.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-Anbiya, verse 59. Who did this to our gods? Surely he is one of the wrongdoers, they said. When the townspeople returned from the fair and the festival grounds and saw that the idols they worshipped had been broken and only the big idol was in its place, they said: Who did this to our gods? Surely he is one of the wrongdoers. Thus Abraham (peace be upon him) taught these people a lesson; to expose their ignorance he seized the opportunity. Because when they realize that Abraham did this, they will summon Abraham, and he will say, if anyone broke these idols, the big idol broke them, and since his people know that this idol is capable of nothing, they will understand that what they worship is capable of nothing.
