Translation

(Some of them) said, “we heard about a young man who kept mocking them. He is called Abraham.”

Tafsir

When they inquired by whom their idols had been broken, (some of them) said, "We heard of a young man who talked about them. They said he was called Ibrahim). It is also understood from this verse that Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was given prophethood at a young age. Prophethood normally comes to a person at the age of forty. However, the fact that Allah (swt) says in the fifty-first verse of this Surah, "We had already given Abraham his maturity", and the fact that in this verse, his people say, "We heard a young man talking about the gods", shows that Prophethood was given to Hazrat Abraham, even if he was a child. In this respect, even as a child, Hazrat Ibrahim did not worship the idols worshipped by his people.

Upon this denunciation, they seized Hazrat Ibrahim 'alaihis-salâm' and interrogated him.
