And Lot, to him We gave provision (Prophethood, commandment, judgement) and knowledge. We saved him from a land that was committing awful deeds.
Tafsir
Allah (swt) also gave Prophethood to Hadrat Lut (as) and also knowledge and wisdom. Prophets are already wise compared to their people. Because people relieve their troubles by consulting them. They learn what they do not know and come out of darkness into light. That is why Allah gives knowledge and wisdom to His Prophets.
The people of Hadrat Lut 'alaihis-salâm' were a homosexual people. They were people who were fond of their fellow human beings and did not approach women. Allah does not want filth and immorality on earth. By destroying the transgressing tribes, He gives life to the generations that will follow, and people will not be subjected to immorality, sedition and mischief in the earth, fearing Allah's greatness and might.
In this respect, the people of Hadrat Lot (peace be upon him) were a people who had gone beyond the limits in filth and immorality and were subject to Allah's command to destroy them. Allah (swt) saved Hadrat Lut (as) from this people and destroyed this immoral people behind their backs.
When Allah's command came, the angels came to Hadrat Lut 'alaihis-salâm' and told him to take those who were subject to him and leave this town without looking back. So he went out with his family and those who followed him, only his wife was one of the unbelievers, and he perished looking behind him.
Such is the end of those who do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter and who disobey Allah's commands.
What is said in the video
We have come to verse 74 of Surah Al-Anbiya. As for Lot, to him too We gave judgment, the office of judge, prophethood, kingship and knowledge. We saved him from his land, which was doing ugly deeds. For they, the people of that land, were truly an evil folk doing wicked deeds, it says. Allah Almighty gave Lot (peace be upon him) too, along with prophethood, knowledge and wisdom. Indeed, prophets are more knowledgeable than their peoples. Because people consult them and so relieve their troubles. They learn what they do not know and come out of darkness into light. In this respect Allah gives His prophets knowledge and wisdom.
The people of Lot (peace be upon him) are a homosexual people. They were people who consorted with their own sex and did not approach women. Allah does not want filth and immorality on earth. Indeed, by destroying (?) peoples, He both gives (?) to the generations that come after, and people, fearing Allah's majesty and power, are not subjected on earth to immorality, strife and corruption. Yes.
In this respect, the people of Lot (peace be upon him) had exceeded all bounds in filth and immorality, and were a people subjected to Allah's command of destruction. Allah Almighty saved Lot (peace be upon him) from among this people and afterwards destroyed a people of immorality, afterwards this people, this immoral people He destroyed. When Allah's command came, the angels came to Lot (peace be upon him) and said: take those who follow you and leave this town you are in without looking behind you. And he took his family members and those who followed him and left; only his wife, because she was among the unbelievers, looked back behind and perished.
This is how those who do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter, those who defy Allah's commands, end up destroyed.
