And Noah, when he supplicated to Us in the past, and We accepted it. And thus, We had saved him and those (believers) close to him from a great catastrophe.
Tafsir
Hazrat Noah 'alaihis-salâm' was a Prophet who lived among his people for many years. When he told his people about Allah, they would not listen to him, and because of his long life, their fathers told their children, "This man will not die. We are advised by our fathers and our fathers are advised by their fathers. They would say don't be fooled by what this man says and don't listen to him.
For this reason, Allah made Hazrat Noah (peace be upon him) build a ship. He took a couple from each of the creatures who followed him and loaded them on board. He drowned the transgressing people and saved the believers from destruction.
What is said in the video
In verse 76 of Surah Al-Anbiya: And before that, Noah too had prayed, and We had answered his prayer. So We had saved him and his believing relatives from the great distress. Now it is the turn of Noah (peace be upon him) (?); from top to bottom it is now telling us what the prophets did.
Noah (peace be upon him) too is a prophet who lived among his people for many years. When he told his people about Allah, his people would not listen to Noah (peace be upon him), and because his life was so long, fathers would say to their children: this man does not die; it is the advice we have from our fathers, and our fathers from their fathers: do not be deceived by what this man says, and do not listen to him. In this respect, Allah Almighty had Noah (peace be upon him) build a ship, had him take those who followed him and a pair of each creature, and load them onto his ship. He drowned his people who had exceeded all bounds, and saved the believers from destruction.
