Tafsir
When Hazrat Ayyub 'alaihis-salâm was in great distress and in need, his family said to him, "Pray to Allahu ta'âlâ, Allah will accept your prayer" and under the pressure of the people around Hazrat Ayyub 'alaihis-salâm, Hazrat Ayyub 'alaihis-salâm prayed to Allahu ta'âlâ. O Lord, You are aware of my situation. You are the most merciful of the merciful. Allah (swt) then accepted his prayer.
Allah (swt) has left the case and patience of Ayyub as a remembrance for the worlds, to prove that those who serve Allah (swt) and rely on Allah (swt) are under the mercy of Allah (swt).
Not only did he relieve him of all his troubles, but he also gave him a double amount in return for them, that is, for his old property and his children.
Ayyub 'alaihis-salâm' was one of the sons of Iysin, the son of Isaac 'alaihis-salâm'. According to the Gregorian calendar, it is estimated that he lived eight centuries before Hadrat Jesus (pbuh). The mother of Hadrat Ayyub 'alaihis-salâm was one of the children of Hadrat Lot 'alaihis-salâm. He had many riches and children in the city of Damascus. The wife of Hadrat Ayyub 'alaihis-salâm' was Rahime, the daughter of Ephraim, the son of Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm'.
Prophethood was given to Prophet Abraham and after him his son Bishr was also given Prophethood.
Allah (swt) subjected Hazrat Ayyub to calamities as a result of a test. His house collapsed and about ten of his children were trapped under the house and died. In the meantime, his property was taken away from him and he was ill for thirteen years or eighteen years.
The disease of Hadrat Ayyub 'alaihis-salâm' was not contagious and did not drive people away from him. Prophets are exempt from such contagious diseases. Some irreligious people who do not believe in Allah and the Prophet have said about Hadrat Ayyub that if he had been a Prophet, he would not have been exposed to such diseases. Hadrat Ayyub was in a very miserable condition. When his wife forced him to pray to Allah (swt), the blessed Hazrat Ayyub 'alaihis-salâm' prostrated himself and said, "O Lord, you know my condition, I am covered with a wound, you are the most merciful of the merciful. Allah (swt) then said: "O Ayyub, raise your head from the prostration. He says your prayer is accepted. He taps his right foot on the ground and an eye comes out from there, with this water Hadrat Ayyub was washed. He tapped his other foot on the ground, and from there came out an eye, and he drank it, and it washed away the external wounds and internal diseases, and his youth, beauty and health were restored. After that, his children were born, and Allah bestowed twice as many children on Hadrat Ayyub 'alaihis-salâm' as he had lost.
Hazrat Ayyub was a very humble and kind person who fed the poor and cared for orphans. It is said that as many as seven people from his people believed in him. It is estimated that he lived for one hundred and forty years. According to one narration, he is said to have lived for ninety-three years.
What is said in the video
Verse 84 of Surah Al-Anbiya: Thereupon, as a mercy from Us and a reminder for those who serve, We accepted his prayer, it says.
We removed from him whatever affliction and distress he had. And We gave him his family, and along with them as many again. Job (peace be upon him) falls into great hardship and comes to a state of (?); when his family says to him: pray to Allah Almighty, Allah will accept your prayer, and with those around Job (peace be upon him) also pressing him, Job (peace be upon him) prays to Allah Almighty. O Lord, You are aware of my state. You are the Most Merciful of the merciful, he says. Thereupon Allah Almighty accepts his prayer. Allah Almighty, Job's (peace be upon him) state — as proof that those who serve Allah, trusting and relying on Allah Almighty, are under Allah's mercy — this state and patience of Job (peace be upon him), as a sign and a reminder to the worlds, He has left behind.
Just as He removed all his troubles, He also, along with them, that is, in return for his former wealth and children, gave him as much again. Job (peace be upon him) is from Esau, son of Isaac (peace be upon him) — one of his descendants. By the Gregorian calendar, 8 centuries before Jesus (peace be upon him) he is estimated to have lived. Job's (peace be upon him) mother is said to have been of the descendants of Lot (peace be upon him). In the region of Damascus he had much wealth and many children. Job's (peace be upon him) wife was, it is said, the daughter of Ephraim, son of Joseph (peace be upon him): Rahime.
Just as Abraham was granted prophethood, after him his son Bishr also attained prophethood. As a test, Allah Almighty leaves Job (peace be upon him) exposed to calamities; his house collapses, about ten of his children die buried under the house, meanwhile his wealth, too, was taken from him; he lay sick for thirteen or eighteen years. Job's (peace be upon him) illness was not contagious and did not drive people away from him. Prophets are in any case exempt from such contagious diseases. Some irreligious people, who do not believe in Allah and the prophet, said of Job: if he were a prophet, he would not suffer such illnesses.
Job (peace be upon him) was in a very wretched state. When his wife, too, pressed him to pray to Allah Almighty, the blessed Job (peace be upon him) simply falls into prostration. O my Lord, You know my state; a sore has covered me. You are the Most Merciful of the merciful, he said. Thereupon Allah Almighty (?) — he raises his head from prostration.
Yes, your prayer has been accepted, He says. Strike the ground with your right foot; a spring will come out there.
Miracles begin to appear. Believe me, as if I were living it today, I mean as if I were living that moment, I am moved before the majesty of Allah. he strikes the ground with his right foot a spring comes out from there; with this water Job (peace be upon him) washes; he strikes the ground with his other foot too, and from there too a spring comes out, he drinks from that one; outwardly his sores, well, his illnesses (?), his youth, beauty and health return; and after that, children were born to him. Twice as many as the children he had lost, Allah granted Job (peace be upon him) in children. Job was very humble and benevolent; he fed the poor, protected orphans and looked after them.
It is said that about seven people from his people believed in him. He is estimated to have lived about 140 years. According to one narration, he is said to have lived 93 years. but that he lived 140 years is more correct because what does he say in his illness? I lived 80 years in plenty I lived 80 years in plenty, you see, I have not yet fallen into straits so much that I should pray to Allah Almighty, he says; in this case you see according to one narration he is said to have lived 93 years, it says. So: 13 years of illness, 80 years of life, 93 years 93 years, this 93 years, at age 93 that he recovered from illness, that he fell ill at age 80 the other about 140 years he is estimated to have lived.
So here, on top of 93 years, 47 more years, that is, after recovering from illness he lives 47 more years. This is the most correct. The reason this is correct, why it is so: Allah Almighty gives him twice his wealth, gives him twice his children. Within this time (?) Allah Almighty again bestows on him abundantly. Yes.
