Translation

We accepted them to Our mercy. They were indeed among the salih (righteous) ones.

Tafsir

The Prophets who brought the commandments and prohibitions of Allah to the people on earth are of course good people. They are people who always want the good of people. They are the ones who invite people to the Truth from darkness and astray paths to the light. They are the ones who tell people about Allah's commands and help them to get rid of oppression and marshes. At the same time, with their patience in the way of Allah and their submission to Allah, Allah (swt) shows these people as examples for the people who will follow them as long as the world lasts.

Ismail 'alaihis-salâm' was the eldest son of Hadrat Ibrahim 'alaihis-salâm'. Hadrat Ibrahim 'alaihis-salâm left Hadrat Ismail with his mother Hagar in the place where the Baytullah is now located. While our mother Hagar was looking for water, water came out from the place where Hazrat Ismail's heels hit when he stomped as a baby. This water is now the water of Zamzam. Hazrat Ismail consented, surrendered and obeyed his father's sacrifice. In return, Allah forgave him by offering him a ram in exchange for his life.

Idris 'alaihis-salâm' became a Prophet after his father Shit, and thirty verses were revealed to him. Idris 'alaihis-salâm' was the first to write with a pen and the first to sew clothes.

Before Idris 'alaihis-salâm', the Children of Adam used to wear clothes made of animal skins. Allah (swt) gave Idris 'alaihis-salâm' an opening of discovery and he started to sew clothes. He also tasted death when he entered Paradise, as we have narrated in the previous verses, and then Allah resurrected Idris 'alaihis-salâm' to come back to the world. Idris 'alaihis-salâm' then said, "If it is death, I have tasted death; if it is paradise, I have come to paradise; I will not go to this world again" and he stayed there.

Zulkuf 'alaihis-salâm' was either Elijah or Joshua bin Nun or Zakariyya 'alaihis-salâm'. Zulf 'alaihis-salâm' used to worship Allah with great zeal and awe. He made it his duty to pray one hundred rak'ahs every night. He was given this name because he continued to do so until his death. Some people have said that he was not a Prophet but a righteous man. However, since Allah mentions him with other Prophets in the Holy Qur'an, it is obvious that he was a Prophet. His grave is said to be near the city of Bitlis or in Damascus.

What is said in the video

Verse 86 of Surah Al-Anbiya: We admitted them into Our mercy; they were truly among the good people. It does not say I chose them; they were truly among the good people.

The prophets who explain Allah's commands and prohibitions to people on earth are of course good people. These people always want the good of people. They are those who call people from darkness and misguided paths to light, to the truth. Surely these are people who explain Allah's commands to people and help save them from oppression and swamps. At the same time, through each one's patience on Allah's path and submission to Allah, as long as the world stands, Allah Almighty presents these people as examples to those who come after. Ishmael (peace be upon him) is the elder son of Abraham (peace be upon him).

Abraham (peace be upon him) left Ishmael, together with his mother, our mother Hagar, at the place where the House of Allah now stands. While our mother Hagar was looking for water, where the baby Ishmael, kicking, struck his heels, water came out. This water is today's Zamzam water. Ishmael consented to be sacrificed by his father, submitted, and obeyed. In return, Allah spared him by giving a ram as a gift in exchange for his life. Idris (peace be upon him) attained prophethood after his father Seth, and 30 pages of verses were sent down to him. The first to write with a pen and the first to sew clothing was Idris (peace be upon him).

Before Idris (peace be upon him), the children of Adam wore clothes of animal skin. Allah Almighty gave Idris (peace be upon him) a clarity of unveiling (kashf), and he began to sew clothes. Also, as we told his story in the earlier verses, when he entered Paradise, tasting death there, so as to finally return to the world, Allah revives Idris (peace be upon him) again. Thereupon Idris (peace be upon him): if it is death, I have tasted death; if it is Paradise, I have entered Paradise; I will not go to the world again — when he said this, he stayed there. Dhul-Kifl (peace be upon him) is either Elijah, or Joshua son of Nun, or Zechariah (peace be upon him).

Dhul-Kifl (peace be upon him) — what do we say? Either Elijah, or Joshua son of Nun, or Zechariah (peace be upon him). Dhul-Kifl (peace be upon him) worshipped Allah with great (?) and reverence. He made it his duty to pray 100 rak'ahs every night. Because he kept up this duty until his death, he was given this name. There are also some who say he was not a prophet but a righteous person. But since Allah mentions him in the Quran together with the other prophets, it is known that he was a prophet. His grave is said to be near the city of Bitlis or in Damascus.
