Al-Anbya 91: And the one (Mary) who has protected her chastity. We breathed into her from Our Spirit, We made her and her son a lesson for the worlds.

Translation

And the one (Mary) who has protected her chastity. We breathed into her from Our Spirit, We made her and her son a lesson for the worlds.

Tafsir

At the same time that Allah (swt) speaks of miraculous and superhuman events, He also speaks of His servants who are obedient to Allah (swt), who adhere to His commands and prohibitions, and who have a deep respect for Allah (swt), so that all mankind may know Him as Lord.

Hadrat Maryam retires to a monastery and Allah (swt) gives her the good news that she will have a son by giving her a spirit from His soul. Hadrat Maryam said, "I am a chaste person, how can I have a child without a man's hand touching me? He says that this was predestined and breathes the spirit of Hazrat Jesus (pbuh) into Hazrat Maryam. Hadrat Maryam became pregnant with Hadrat Jesus (peace be upon him).

Hazrat Jesus, on the other hand, had the language of speech as soon as he was born. Hazrat Jesus (peace be upon him) spoke and said that his mother was chaste, that this was a miracle and a wish of Allah, and that he himself would be a Prophet. Of course, such a miracle is a lesson for the whole world. It is a proof and a sign of Allah's wahdat al-wahdat and power.

Surah Al-Anbiya, verse 91. Her honour, her chastity she guarded – Mary, too: We breathed into her of Our spirit. We made her and her son a lesson for all the worlds, He says. We made them a lesson.

While Allah Almighty speaks of miraculous and superhuman events, at the same time, by describing His servants who obey Allah, cling to His commands and prohibitions and towards Allah Almighty are in deep reverence, He makes known that all people should know Him as their Lord. Mary withdraws to one side in the monastery, and Allah Almighty, giving her a spirit from His spirit, gives Mary the good news that she will have a son. When Mary says: I am a chaste person, a man's hand (?) me, how can I have a child – for Allah there is nothing (?). This had been decreed beforehand, and the spirit of Jesus (peace be upon him) to Mary (?). Mary becomes pregnant with Jesus (peace be upon him).

And Jesus has the ability to speak as soon as he is born. By speaking, Jesus (peace be upon him) declared that his mother was chaste, that this was a miracle and the will of Allah, and that he himself would be a prophet. This state, such a miracle, is of course a lesson for all the worlds. It is a proof of Allah's oneness and power, a proof and a sign. Yes.
