Oh mankind, fear your Lord! Verily, the shakening of the hour (the Doomsday) is terrifying!
Tafsir
There is no other God but Allah. All creatures are the servants of Allah (swt). Allah (swt) addresses all mankind and says, "O mankind, fear your Lord".
The sovereignty of property is in the hands of Allah (swt). Allah (swt) created the universe with knowledge. He has also programmed what will happen until the Day of Judgment. In these programs, he informs us of the conditions that people will be in at the time of judgment and the horrors of the time of judgment.
Allah (swt) also mentions the Doomsday in the following verses. He declares that the Resurrection will be very awesome, the earth will be thrown out of its contents, the mountains will be thrown like cotton wool, the seas will swell and the stars in the heavens will flow like molten metal. These Verses will be explained in their turn.
Allah (swt) has given people the opportunity of a lifetime in this world. At the end of this life, people will die, all souls will taste death, and they will be held accountable before Allah (swt) on the Day of Reckoning. Allah (swt) informs us that these situations are inevitable, that the Day of Judgment will surely come and what the terror will be like at the time of that Judgment.
In the Qur'anic verse, Allah (swt) addresses mankind and says: "O mankind, fear your Lord". One of the many reasons why we should fear Allah (swt) is that Allah (swt)'s promise is true, and Allah (swt) will fulfill exactly what He has revealed to mankind in His Verses. Those who seem to be irresponsible and free in this world, who think that they will not be held accountable by anyone and that they will get away with whatever they do, will see that this is not the case. These people will be horrified when they realize at the moment of judgment that those who act outside of what Allah says will finally be held to account by their Creator.

This surah has 78 verses, Surah Al-Hajj, 78 verses. Since this surah mentions that the obligation of Hajj was begun earlier by Abraham and continued by Muhammad (peace be upon him), the surah is called Surah Al-Hajj.
Surah Al-Hajj, verse one. O people, fear your Lord. Of course we will fear Him. He is the Creator. We will fear Him in every respect. Doesn't a person sometimes hold back before his mother and father? Isn't he afraid? (?) the Creator, the one who gives all provision. Because, He says, the earthquake of the Hour is a tremendous thing. Yes.
There is no god other than Allah. All created beings are servants of Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty, addressing all people: O people, fear your Lord, He says. This fear, this fear: when we come before our Lord, besides whom there is no other god, and who, in His judgment, is the holder of judgment, according to the verse that says on that day judgment belongs to Allah alone, besides whom there is no other judge, who is Eleysallahu bi ahkemi'l- hâkimîn: when our Lord surely calls us to account, we will have no intercession, no helper other than Him, nor will a person find anyone to save him. Therefore, in all the states of our whole life and our living, we must fear our Lord and love our Lord very much, so that in the hereafter we may take refuge in His mercy.
Otherwise we are in trouble. Yes.
The (?) sovereignty is in the hand of Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty created the universe with knowledge. He has also programmed what will happen until the Day of Judgment. Within these programs He informs us what states people will come to at the time of the Hour and of the terror of the Hour. Allah Almighty speaks of the Day of Judgment in the coming verses too. He declares that the Day of Judgment is tremendous, that the earth throws out what is inside it, that the mountains are scattered like carded cotton, that the seas swell and the stars in the heavens flow like molten metal. We said these verses will be explained when their turn comes.
Now, when He says, fear the Hour, it is a tremendous moment, we too say, O people, O people, to our Lord, besides whom there is no other god, who is the absolute ruler of the whole universe and who gives us food and drink, let us show good obedience, let us carry out His good words, so that at that moment of the Hour Allah Almighty shows us mercy. How will His mercy be? Upon those who obey Allah a wind called the sam wind, that is, sam, death, a wind called the wind of death, will blow. The Muslims will fall asleep. When they pass to the hereafter in that sleep, they will not see the Day of Judgment.
They will not see the Hour break out. The Hour will break out upon the others. That is why Allah Almighty says, O people, the sign of the Hour is a tremendous event. Yes, tremendous.
He says the earthquake of the Hour is a tremendous thing.
Allah Almighty has given people the chance of a lifetime in this world. At the end of their life people will die. Every soul will taste death. On this day of reckoning they will be called to account before Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty informs us that these things are inevitable, that the Hour will certainly come, and how the terror at that moment of the Hour will be. In His verse Allah Almighty addresses people: O people! Fear your Lord, He says. One of the many reasons why we should fear Allah Almighty is that Allah Almighty's promise is true, what Allah Almighty has made known to people through His verses He will fully bring to pass.
Those who in this world seem unaccountable and free, who think they will not be called to account by anyone and will get away with what they did, will see that it is not so. That those who act outside what Allah said will finally be called to account by their Creator: when they understand this at that moment of the Hour, these people will be seized by terror, they will be seized by fear. But by then the time with no return has come to its end.
