Al-Hajj 5: Oh mankind! If you are in doubt about being resurrected, know that We have created you from dust, then from sperm, then from clot, then from a piece of flesh, (first) without form, then with form, to show to you (Our might). And those whom We wish, We let wait in the womb until a determined time. Then, We make you come out as an infant. Then (We raise you) so that you will reach your age of strength. Some of you die, and some others among you will be taken to the age of life with least strength, so that, looses all the knowledge acquired before. You will see the earth (in a state of) being very dry and dead. But when We send down rain upon it, then it moves, expands, and produces beautiful plants of all kinds (and pairs).

Tafsir

With this verse, Allah (swt) explains with examples that there is no other God but His Divine Essence and that all souls will be resurrected after tasting death.

When Allah (swt) says to mankind: "If you are in doubt about resurrection, We created you from a piece of earth, clay," He means that He created the body of our father Adam from the earth, referring to our ancestor Adam, whom He created as the first human being. Then giving life to this piece of earth and turning it into a piece of flesh, then creating our ancestor Eve so that the soul of our ancestor Adam would find peace, then sending our ancestor Adam to the realm of property, which we call the unseen, in proportion to the covenants that people have made, and sending our ancestor Adam to the realm of property, which we call the unseen, so that people would keep themselves as witnesses to Allah (swt) against themselves and those around them.

Then Allah, Who created human beings and His creatures in pairs, created their reproduction from a male and a female. In this respect, the sperm of human cells in the loins of men, which can be magnified a thousand times under a microscope, has been referred to as a nutfah, and it has been mentioned that although these nutfahs bear the forms of human beings, their limbs and parts are indistinct. In fact, since all the limbs were originally implanted in this seed, in a certain period of time after fertilization of this seed in the womb, the fetus changes its shape and takes the form of a human being, and then the limbs appear in their proper places, and then those who do not have a share in the world die in the womb or are taken away. Those who will come into the world will be born as babies after a certain period of time, and then Allah will provide them with their sustenance as He has ordained during their lifetime, and they will grow to adulthood, and some of them will migrate to the Hereafter at the end of their lifetime, and some of them after they have reached the strong age of their lifetime, By giving the example of a person who reaches the strongest state in proportion to the covenant they have made mentally and physically, and then grows old, gradually forgets what he knows and reaches the weakness of his childhood, he declares to people that Allah's Verses are true, that He created all these worlds with knowledge, and that Allah is Almighty.

Continuing to declare the power of Allah (swt) to mankind, He says in His verse, "And you see the earth as dry and dead; but when We send down rain on it, it stirs and swells and yields heartwarming plants of every kind (or pair)", indicating that Allah (swt) created everything from water. Allah, the Almighty, declares that He is the owner of all these worlds and that people should know Him and serve Him. In this respect, in the Holy Qur'an, Allah (swt) gives parables and examples in His verses in a way that all people can understand. No human being will be able to blame Allah (swt) for these examples. Those who do not follow the command of Allah (swt) will be alone and desolate in the Hereafter. Accordingly, all souls will be held accountable for their actual actions.

What is said in the video

O mankind, which verse is this? Surah Al-Hajj, verse 5.

O mankind, if you are in doubt about being resurrected, know this: We created you from earth, then from a nutfah, then from an alaqah, from a fertilized egg, then from a living lump of flesh whose limbs are at first undefined, then defined, from an embryo whose limbs form over time, so that We may show you Our power, and We keep whom We will in the wombs for an appointed term. Then We bring you out as a baby, then We raise you so that you may reach your age of strength. Some of you die, and some of you are brought to the most unproductive age of life, so that after having been one who knows, he comes to know nothing. And you see the earth bone-dry and dead.

But when We send down rain upon it, it stirs, it swells and gives forth pleasing plants of every kind or in pairs, says Allah Almighty. Now a prayer of the Prophet (peace be upon him) here comes to my mind. O my Lord, I seek refuge in You from a life that brings senility, he says. From a life that brings senility. Based on what does he say this? He says it because he fears this verse. This verse. Which part of this verse does he fear? Look which part he fears. And some of you are brought to the most unproductive age of life. To the unproductive age. Today we see people at 85 or 90, at 80, with bent backs, unproductive, unable to do their own chores.

They have come to a state of needing this one and that one. Well, would a prophet of Allah want to fall into this state? We say the same. O my Lord, while our hands and feet still work, while our minds are sound, yes, we have grown old, but there were such old prophets, like Noah, like Solomon, like Zechariah (peace be upon him), like Jacob (peace be upon him) – just as many of Your old prophets, without losing themselves, while in their strong, powerful age, (?), so we too, however long we live, before we fall into our weak age, without needing anyone, wish for (?). That is why I seek refuge in my Lord from a life that brings senility.

Yes. We too are 80 years old, but by our own measure we feel ourselves somewhat (?).

In Surah Al-Hajj, verse 5, Allah Almighty explains with this verse that there is no god other than His Divine Essence and that all souls will be resurrected after tasting death, illustrating it with examples. Allah Almighty addressing people: if you are in doubt about resurrection, We created you from clay, a piece of earth – that is what He says. Our body. Before that, He created our soul from His Essence. He is not talking about that. (?) Allah Almighty created us, our souls. Here He tells us how He brought it to life in the world. He explains how He turned it into (?). Referring to our forefather Adam, He states that the body of our father Adam, whom He created as the first human, He created from earth.

Then His giving life to this piece of earth and turning it into a piece of flesh, then His creating our mother Eve so that the nafs of our father Adam might find rest, then people, in proportion to the covenants they gave, being sent to the realm of mulk, which is unseen; so that people, toward themselves, toward Allah Almighty, toward themselves and their surroundings, may (?), our father Adam, to the realm of mulk that we call the unseen, He sends. When we say unseen, it is not that those realms are unseen, but a realm in which Allah Almighty's Essence is not seen – an unseen realm. Now someone is asking me a question; apparently he doesn't know us.

Hodja, what is meant by unseen? I mean, is it so that these realms are not known? I mean, is it an unseen realm, are these places an unknown realm, he asks. He thinks himself clever, (?), and asks as if we were too incapable to know this. Today even children can know: does a place they see become lost? The realm is visible, a manifest realm.

Then Allah, who created people and His creatures in pairs, made their reproduction from a male and a female.

Then Allah, who created people and creatures in pairs, made their reproduction from a male and a female. In this respect, the human sperm cells in men's loins, seen when magnified a thousand times under a microscope, are referred to as a nutfah, and it is mentioned that although these nutfahs carry human form, their cells and organs are only vaguely discernible. Now here you will magnify it a thousand times under a microscope, you will see that cell a thousand times over. In that cell, in that human cell, all bodies, eyes, ears, hearts, lungs, kidneys, intestines, whatever is in a human, brain cells – all of it is inscribed.

You will magnify this a thousand times under a microscope. Then you will magnify it, and these barely discernible organs: if bone, it will be bone; if muscle, muscle; if flesh, it will be flesh; if kidney, kidney. The flesh of the kidney is different, the flesh of the heart is different, the flesh of the intestines is different, the flesh of every part will be different, and it will be equipped with a knowledge. All of them will benefit from somewhere, take their nourishment, and show us as a hajji like this, show us as a hodja. Yes, it will bring it forth. So is this an event that happens by chance on its own?

Without someone who creates it, can this happen? In fact, since all the organs are inscribed in this nutfah at its origin, with the fertilization of this nutfah in the mother's womb the embryo changes shape within a certain time and takes on human form, then its organs appear in their proper places; then those who have no share in the world die or are taken in the mother's womb; then those who are to come into the world are born after a certain time as babies; then Allah Almighty, within the lifetimes of these people, gives them their provision again as He has decreed and brings them to adult age; some migrate to the hereafter when their life ends, and some, after reaching the strong age of life, in proportion to the covenant they gave with mind and body, reach their strongest state and then grow old, slowly forgetting what they knew and reaching the weakness of childhood as in the beginning – by giving this example, that Allah's verses are true, that all these realms He created with knowledge, and that Allah has power over all things, must be made clear to people.

Continuing to declare the power of His Essence to people, His saying in the verse: you see the earth bone-dry and dead, but when We send down rain upon it, it stirs, swells and brings forth, of every kind or in pairs, delightful plants – this saying is His making known that Allah created everything from water. He created every living thing from water.

Allah Almighty, who has power over all things, makes known that He is the owner of all these realms, that people should know His Essence and worship Allah. In this respect, Allah Almighty, in a way all people will understand, the Holy Quran too with its verses brings (?) and gives examples. No human will be able to blame Allah Almighty in the face of these examples. Those who do not abide by Allah Almighty's command will, in the hereafter, be alone and without anyone. Accordingly, all souls will be called to account for the deeds they actually did. Yes.
