Tafsir
Allah (swt) addressed the Prophet (s.a.w.) and said, "Praise be to Allah, peace be upon His distinguished (righteous, close to Allah) servants. Praise be to Allah that He created us as the most honorable of human beings and made us the caliphs of the earth and placed all the creation of the earth at the disposal of human beings. Praise be to Allah that He has bestowed upon us all kinds of blessings and provided us with a good sustenance. Praise be to Allah that He has brought us out of darkness into light by His Divine command. He has shown us the paths of guidance. Praise be to Allah, Who, by following His command on these paths of guidance, has given His loved ones the Gardens of Paradise, a beautiful abode of bliss in the Hereafter. Peace be upon His distinguished (righteous, close to Allah) servants. Allah's distinguished servants are His Prophets and His believers, who do not even come close to the limits set by Allah, let alone push them. According to the twenty-seven, twenty-eight, twenty-nine, thirtieth verses of Surat al-Fajr, where it says, "O satisfied soul, enter among My servants, enter My Paradise, with your Lord pleased with you and you pleased with your Lord", the distinguished servants are the Prophets, and a satisfied soul is one of the distinguished servants. He is placing these believers close to the rank of the Prophets and declaring that they will be given high positions among His righteous servants.
So is Allah better or their partners whom they associate with Allah? Allah is the One who creates out of nothing and provides for the needs of His creatures. Allah is the Creator of the heavens and the earth. Therefore, everything belongs to Allah. If one makes a comparison, is it the Creator who provides for people's needs or Allah's creatures? Of course Allah has made the distribution of sustenance in the universe. He gives the sustenance of one by the hand of another. He has linked all events to causes. Within these causes, people's behavior earns them rewards and sins. In that case, if a person forsakes Allah and seeks help from His creatures, is he not among the people who pity their souls?
Is Allah better in this case, or the creatures of Allah who are incapable of anything? Of course, the answer of every mind to this question will be that they say Allah. So why do you turn your backs on Allah and go beyond His commands?
What is said in the video
We have come to verse 59 of Surah An-Naml. Verse 59 of Surah An-Naml is also a wrongly rendered verse. Let us read the wrong version.
"Say, my Messenger: praise be to Allah, and peace be upon His servants whom He has chosen. Is Allah better, or the partners they associate with Him?" Now it says: to the servants Allah has chosen. This part has been rendered somewhat wrongly. And there is also an explanation below. "It is stated that by Allah's chosen servants may be meant the prophets, or the Prophet's companions, or all past and future believers who have attained divine approval," it says.
Whereas what do we say? "Say, my Messenger: praise be to Allah, and peace be upon His chosen — that is, in parentheses, close to Allah, righteous — servants. Is Allah better, or the partners they associate with Him?" Yes, now, the servants who are close to Allah and righteous, that is, the servants Allah Almighty created first — what does Allah Almighty say in His verse? Kulil hamdu lillâhi ve selâmun alâ ibâdihillezîne estafâ, âllâhu hayrun emmâ yuşrikûn. Yes. Kulil hamdu lillâhi ve selâm. Peace be upon Allah's good servants, His beautiful servants. To His (?) good servants. İbâdihillezînestafâ. Those who worship beautifully.
Well. Those servants who are close to Allah. Hayrun emmâ yuşrikûn — those they associate with Him, are they better, or are the partners they associate with Allah better? Surely Allah, who created the worlds — can the Creator ever be compared with what He created? Is this possible? Which person of reason could compare this with Him? Only people who want to throw falsehood over the truth, who spew hatred at Allah, who deny Allah, would do such things. They too know that there is Allah, one Allah. But because of their obstinacy toward Allah, the hatred in their nature and their rebellion against Allah, because they defy Allah, they engage in every kind of (?). And today on earth we are living through this.
We are living it through actual deeds. For example, some countries that are our friends — Allah Almighty says do not take them as friends, we say; anyway not as friends but as allies, with the people with whom we keep peace on the earth we live on, although we stand in the same rank together, they tell us: we are with you, and behind our backs, to destroy both the state and the nation, with terrorists they are cooperating today. Today the state of the world proves this. In this situation, although people see Allah Almighty, to Allah, (?) because of their greed, (?) people. In this situation, how beautifully Allah Almighty addresses such people.
Say, my Messenger: praise be to Allah — of course, praise be. Why praise be? We have become servants of our Lord who created us with a fine mind. Yes, we came to know and recognize that there is no other god but Him. In this situation, praise be to Allah. Peace be upon His servants who are close to Allah and righteous. Yes, now in this situation, to Allah Almighty we offer greetings. What do we say? My Allah, peace be upon those beautiful servants of Yours. Why peace be upon them? Because our Lord, our Lord, by having us greet those close to His Being, makes us long to be like them. You too can enter among such people.
You too try to know your Lord and not to be at fault in obeying Him. Not to be at fault. Because we are not faultless. Because our Lord created us with faults. That is, He created us deficient in mind. Because we were created deficient in mind, we make mistakes. That is, we commit faults. In this situation, when we understand the mistakes we have made — O Lord, we are helpless. I thought these were right. Or I lived through a time of ignorance. I followed my nafs. Or I fell for Satan. — and say "O Lord, forgive me", then we fit the purpose for which our Lord created us. Why? He had created us deficient.
So that he knows his helplessness. So that he takes refuge in Me. So that he asks Me for pardon and forgiveness. Because He gave us a part of His spirit. That spirit is an exact likeness of His Being. In this situation, since Allah Almighty would not create a being equal and alike to His Being, He created our mind deficient. Yes. In this situation, man was created as the noblest of creatures. That is, He says: I created man in the most beautiful form. Then He says: if you seek might and honor, might and honor are with Allah. Yes. Surah An-Naml, verse 59 says: my Messenger, "Say: praise be to Allah, peace be upon His servants who are close to Allah and righteous. Is Allah better, or the partners they associate with Him?" Allah Almighty, addressing the Prophet (peace be upon him): say, praise be to Allah, peace be upon His chosen servants, close to Allah and righteous. In this situation we as human beings — Allah Almighty says He created us the most honorable and, making us vicegerent of the earth, placed all the creatures of the earth at people's command.
Yes.
In this situation, because Allah Almighty gave people great value, just as He created people as the noblest of creatures, that is, the most honorable being, He also made them vicegerent of the earth. In this situation, we, the vicegerent of the earth — what does vicegerent mean? One who looks after things in another's stead. That is, Allah Almighty, in this world in which He has created us, all the events and beings He has placed at our command, and our using them within our will in place of our Lord, our giving orders, our living that way, well, He makes possible. That is, the property today is in itself mine.
With freedom of will. If I am the vicegerent of the earth, the property is mine. Yes. But Allah Almighty says: I gave it to you, but. Use it with justice. Do not (?), because waste is forbidden, He says. Yes, now praise be to Allah, who has bestowed on us every kind of blessing and provided us with good sustenance. Praise be to Allah, who by His divine command brought us out of darkness into light. He showed us the paths of guidance. Praise be to Allah: to those He loves who keep Allah's command on these paths of guidance, in the hereafter He gives paradises that are like a beautiful bliss — praise be to Allah. Peace be upon those of His servants close to Allah.
The servants whom Allah Almighty calls close are the prophets and the believing servants who have attained tranquility; these servants, the limits Allah has set — let alone pushing them, they do not even come near these limits. In Surah Al-Fajr, verses 27-28-29-30.
Peace be upon His servants who are close to Allah and righteous. The servants whom Allah Almighty calls good are the prophets and the believing servants who have attained tranquility; these servants, let alone pushing the limits Allah has set, do not even approach those limits. In Surah Al-Fajr, 27-28-29-30, verses: "O soul at rest, your Lord pleased with you and you pleased with your Lord, enter among My servants, enter My paradise." According to this verse, His chosen servants are the prophets, and likewise it means a soul at rest entering among His chosen servants. He declares that He holds these believers close to the rank of the prophets and that, among His righteous servants, these people will be given high ranks.
So then, is Allah better, or the partners they associate with Allah? Allah is the One who creates from nothing and meets every need of His creatures. Allah is the Creator of the heavens and the earth. In this situation, everything belongs to Allah. If a person makes a comparison: is it the Creator who meets people's needs or Allah's creatures? Surely Allah has made the distribution of provision in the universe. He gives one person's provision through another's hand. He has tied all events to processes. Within these processes, people's conduct earns them reward and sin. In this situation, if a person leaves Allah and hopes for help from Allah's creatures, will he not be among those who wrong their own souls?
So in this situation, is Allah better, or Allah's creatures who are capable of nothing? Surely every mind's answer to this question will be: Allah. Then why do you step outside Allah's commands and turn your backs on Allah? Indeed, why? When everything is so clear, everything so open and apparent, the manifestations laid out before our eyes, would a person still, out of our obstinacy and hatred, leave himself exposed to punishment? To these people possessing reason, "you have a mind" — would one say that? Would one say "you are wise"? Yes.
