Translation

(Are they better) or the One Who; created the heavens, the earth and who has sent down water from the sky? With that water, We have brought forth pleasing gardens from which you would not be capable of growing (even) one tree. Is there a deity other than Allah? Verily, they are a nation that has (continued) going astray.

Tafsir

Allah (swt) proves His existence and that there is no other God besides Himself by appealing to people's minds with this verse and the following verses.

That is to say, Allah is the Creator of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the One who sent down water from the sky, that is, rain, and gave life to all living beings with this rain. Allah created the universe with knowledge. He bestowed life on His creatures to provide for their sustenance and to sustain them until a certain time.

And in order to prove this, He says to the people: "He sent down on you water from the sky, that is, rain, and you were not able to plant even one tree with this water, but Allah planted beautiful gardens for you.

This means that you plant a tree and you do not know whether it will grow or not. Even if you give water to this tree, if this tree has no life on earth, you cannot bring it to life. As the providence of life and everything is in Allah's knowledge, the real meaning here is that you are not able to create the seed of a tree out of nothing? But Allah is granting you vineyards and gardens.

Is there then another God besides Allah, so that people ignore the blessings of Allah and disbelieve in Him and associate partners with Him? The fact that they turn their backs on Allah (swt), even though Allah (swt) has made His existence so clear to these people, is because of their arrogance and pride, in their own selfish desires, in their own misguided desires, and in their arrogance and pride, they do not submit to Allah (swt).

Allah (swt) says to such people that they are a people who continue in error, a community of wrongdoers who have the same idea and the same thought and who disbelieve in Allah (swt) knowingly.

Allah (swt) continues His Verses by giving various examples to people in various ways, in such a way that every mind can comprehend that there is no other God but Allah (swt). Allah (swt) intends to prove and inform people about His Essence so that on the Day of Judgment, people will not say, "O Allah, we could not understand what you said or if you had informed us about Your Essence, we would have worshipped you. Because Allah is free from all deficiencies.

What is said in the video

Are they better, or the One who created the heavens and the earth and from the sky sends water down to you? With that water We grew beautiful gardens, though you are unable to grow even one of their trees. Is there another god besides Allah? "Truly, they are a group that persists in misguidance," says Allah Almighty. Yes, a group that persists. Where? In misguidance. Yes. Allah Almighty proves His existence, and that there is no other god besides His Being, with this verse and the verses He lists below, by addressing people's minds. That is, Allah Almighty is the One who created the heavens, the earth and what lies between them, and who, by sending down water from the sky, that is, by sending rain, with these rains gives life to all living things.

Allah created the universe with His knowledge; to secure the provision of His creatures and their living until a certain time, He granted them lives. And to prove this, addressing people: sending water down to you from the sky, that is, sending rain — with this water you could not even grow one tree of it, He says. Yes, let us open this up a little: "while you are not able with this water to grow even a tree" — the moment I say that, that water — Allah Almighty says He created all living things from water, doesn't He — it now looks as if Allah Almighty had spoken incompletely here. That is, without its seed, does a tree grow with this water — in that sense? Whereas when it says You created all living things from water, water has such properties that — note this — with the falling rain, on a dry stone moss grows over time.

So there is something in it too; there are living things in it. So when Allah Almighty, as a chemist, puts everything with its formulas into that water, it grows your apple, and your pear it grows, your cherry it grows, your mango it grows, it grows and grows, your orange it grows, the tangerine it grows, whatever comes to your mind, all of it, because it is in the formula that chemist put into that water. Yes, Allah says He caused beautiful gardens to grow for you; what is meant by this is: you plant a tree; whether it will take root is unknown to you; even if you water this tree, if this tree has no life on earth, you cannot bring it to life — that is the meaning, just as everything of life, the decree of everything, is in Allah's knowledge.

Here, however, the real meaning is: are you capable of bringing a tree's seed into existence from nothing? Whereas Allah grants you vineyards and gardens. That is its meaning. So then, in this situation, is there another god besides Allah? People, ignoring the many blessings Allah has given, deny Allah and associate partners with Him. Although Allah has made His existence known to these people this much, their turning their backs on Allah Almighty is because, in misguidance, within their own selfish desires, associating partners against Allah, out of arrogance and pride they cannot bow to Allah.

So when Allah Almighty says of such people, "these are a band persisting in misguidance", it means this is the community, this is a community that is of the same idea and the same thought, that knowingly denies Allah — a community of wrongdoers, He declares. A community of wrongdoers who knowingly deny. At the address "Elestü bi-rabbiküm", they said yes. But those who do not know the meaning of this yes. They brought (?); they gave their word to Allah Almighty in the world. From their word to Allah Almighty they turn back (?). In the writings of people who cannot grasp the meanings of such verses, they have, in many places of the Holy Quran too, ascribed attributes to Allah Almighty, and these attributions we explain to you by reading the correct versions of the wrongly rendered verses.

Yes.

Allah Almighty, telling people in various ways that there is no other god besides Allah, in a way every mind can grasp, giving various examples, continues His verses. Allah Almighty's purpose in constantly letting people know the proof of His Being is that on the Day of Judgment people should not say: my Allah, we could not understand what You said, or had You made Your Being known to us, we would have worshipped You. Because Allah is free from every kind of deficiency. For this last sentence I said, Surah Ta-Ha, verse 134 — what does its rendering say? Let us read it here, from this. Well, Surah Ta-Ha, verse 134: "Had We, before this, before the Quran, with a punishment destroyed them, they would surely have said: O Lord, if only You had sent us a messenger, so that before falling into this humiliation and disgrace we would have followed Your verses." Yes.

In this situation, Allah Almighty, being free of deficient attributes, by virtue of Allah's attribute of Godhood, all the questions people would ask Allah Almighty He makes manifest in the world, so that on the Day of Judgment people will have not a single question to ask Allah Almighty left. Yes.
