Translation

(Are they better) or the One Who; has created you first, then repeated with creation and Who gives you provisions from the sky and from the land? Is there a deity other than Allah? Say, “If you are truthful, bring your certain proof.”

Tafsir

Allah (swt) continues to prove that there is no other God besides Himself. In the face of people's inclination towards the creatures of Allah other than Allah, seeking help from them, asking for help from those who are not capable of anything and worshipping them, He appeals to the minds of such people and says, "Are they better, or the One who created from the beginning, then repeated the creation, and sustains you both from the sky and the earth? The meaning of this verse is that Allah (swt) is the Creator, that is, He has the knowledge to create out of nothing. When He proves to people that He created His creations by proving to them that He created them, when He says, "Who creates from the beginning, that is to say, who creates out of nothing, then kills them, then resurrects them," He means that He first created the living creatures He created in the universe, for example, a wheat, a plant or any other creature, He first created it, then He created its offspring, then He killed it, and the real meaning other than this meaning is; Is Allah better than the one who created human beings out of nothing, then resurrected them, that is, brought them to this world and made them live, then killed them, then resurrected our bodies in the Hereafter and made them witnesses against our souls? This repetition of "the one who repeats creation" indicates that there is no other God but Allah and that He is the absolute judge of what He has created in the universe.

(Who sustains you both from the sky and the earth?) Apart from this creation, Allah, who provides sustenance for His creatures in order to keep them alive and make them remember Him, has created them as a delicious sustenance for human beings by appealing to our minds, saying that He gives people both a sustenance from the sky and a sustenance on the earth, meaning the game flying in the sky, and He has created them as a delicious sustenance for humans. He has provided them as sustenance for human beings. Domestic and game animals on land, fish and their species in the sea have all been created for people. Is it better for those who have created these things, or is it better for those who have created these things and then worship and ask for what people worship and ask for what Allah has created other than Allah? He says. Surely Allah who created these things is good.

Is there any god other than Allah! So, if people will use their minds and think with a little contemplation, is there any other God besides Allah, so that people leave Allah and turn away from Him, inclining towards Allah's creations? Did Allah, the Creator of this universe, create human beings to turn away from Him and deny Him? If a person does not feel his responsibility towards Allah (swt), then he is not of sound mind, but is following the nafsani and worldly life, (hatemallahu ala gulubihim wa ala semihim wa ala ebsarihim ğışaveh velehum azabun azim) In this verse, Allah (swt) says that their eyes are blind, their ears deaf and their hearts sealed. For them is a painful torment. In this way, is it not a pity for one's own soul?

It is out of pity for mankind that Allah (swt) sends Prophets, Books and scholars to remind people of the punishment that they will suffer in the Hereafter and to offer them the bliss of the eternal abode. Those who did not heed these Divine warnings of Allah (swt) and did not pay heed to the warnings of Allah (swt) ended up in the destruction of past peoples. People should take lessons from these events and turn to Allah (swt), but on the contrary, people are blind and deaf spectators to these events, as if they have not heard of such an event, as if they have not heard of such an event, and as if they have not heard of such an event, falling prey to the temptations of the nafs and the devil. They become slaves to the desires of the ego and the temptations of the devil and never stop obeying them.

(If you are truthful, bring your proofs). After proving in this way that there is no other God besides Him in every aspect of His Essence, Allah (swt) addressed the people: O people! If, apart from these proofs, you have your own proofs that there is another God besides Allah, then present them. Thus, Allah (swt) is challenging people that there is no other God but Himself.

What is said in the video

Surah An-Naml, verse 64 — we have come to it, yes. Are they better, or He who originates creation, then repeats it, and who provides for you both from the sky and from the earth? Is there a god besides Allah? Say: if you are truthful, bring your conclusive proof. Now, what those superstitious ones invented — Allah's creations they worship as gods, and that they accept as a god and ask of — is that better? Or He who originates creation, who created the whole universe from the very start, (?), who created with knowledge, coming to man: who gave him a part of His spirit and made him His addressee; then, to prove to yourselves what kind of person you are, by Our sending you into a hidden world where Our Being is not seen, the world of this life, each soul living in the world for a certain time and, within its lifetime, having proven itself, He makes it die, resurrects it again in the world of the hereafter, and, according to the verse "you have come to Us as We first created you", that at the Great Judgment we will be called to account, and He besides whom there is no other god, who at the Great Judgment is "Eleysallahu bi ahkemi'l-hâkimîn" — is Allah Almighty better?

O man, reflect on these, think about these: is there a (?) besides the One who created us? Besides the Owner of the worlds, does this world have another owner? If it were so anyway, He says, one would take what it created, the other would take what it created, and everything would be drowned in corruption, He says. In this situation, if we are deceived by the pompous life of this transient world and turn our backs on Allah, then the circle of disaster, the (?) of disaster swarm over us. Yes.

Allah Almighty continues to prove that there is no other god besides Him. Faced with people inclining toward creations as gods besides Allah — their hoping for help from them, asking of those capable of nothing and worshipping them — He addresses the reason of such people and says: are they better, or He who originates creation, then repeats creation, and provides for you both from the sky and from the earth? The meaning in this verse: Allah Almighty has creative knowledge, that is, the knowledge of bringing into being from nothing. Proving to people that His creations were created by Him, "He who originates creation", that is, brings into being from nothing, "then makes them die, then revives them again" — when He says this, He means that He first created the living beings in the universe, for example a grain of wheat, any plant or any creature — He who first creates, then propagates its offspring, then makes it die, as in that sense; apart from this meaning, the true meaning is: He who brings people into being from nothing, who revives them, that is, brings them into this world and keeps them alive, then makes these people die and revives our bodies again in the hereafter, who holds them as witnesses against our souls — is Allah better?

His saying "who repeats creation" in this way tells that there is no other god besides Allah, and that He is the absolute ruler of what He created in the universe.

Or He who provides for you both from the sky and from the earth? As for keeping alive His creations beyond this creation, and to have them remember Him, Allah, who secures their provision, addressing our reason — His saying "who gives people both a provision from the sky and on the earth a provision" refers to the game flying in the sky; He created these for people as delicious provision. He offered these to people as provision. On land domestic animals and game, in the sea fish and their kinds, were all created for people. Is He who creates these better? Is He who created these better? Or, after He created these, people worshipping Allah's creations besides Allah and asking of them — are their wishes better?

He says. Of course Allah, who created these, is better. Is there a god besides Allah? So, if people use their reason and, reflecting a little, think it over. Is there a god besides Allah, then? People abandon Allah, incline toward Allah's creations, and drift away from Allah. Well, did Allah, who created this universe, create people so that they would turn away from Him and deny Him? If a person cannot feel his responsibility toward Allah Almighty, that person is not of sound mind; he has chased after a carnal and worldly life, and becomes the counterpart of the verse "ve lehüm azâbün azîm", in which verse Allah Almighty says: their eyes are blind, their ears are deaf, and their hearts are sealed. For them there is a painful punishment.

In this way, would a person not have wronged his own self? Because Allah pities people — beyond the life of this world, in the hereafter, reminding people of the punishment they will suffer, wanting to offer them the eternal home's bliss — He sent prophets, books and scholars. Those who did not heed these divine warnings of Allah Almighty, and who could not take Allah Almighty's warnings into consideration — their end was the destruction of past peoples; that is how it ended. While people should take lessons from these events and return to Allah Almighty, on the contrary, as if they had never heard such an event nor listened to it, people are carried away by the temptation of the nafs and Satan and, blind and deaf, remain spectators to these events. Against the whims of their nafs and the temptation of Satan, becoming like slaves, they never give up obeying them. If you are truthful, bring your conclusive proof.

Allah Almighty: look, I bring My proof. There is no god but Me, He says. I created the worlds. And if you use your reason, everything is within a knowledge. First, don't look anywhere; turn to yourself, He says. Your eye captures and gives back instantly. Today a Polaroid camera gives it to you only within a few seconds. Your ears, I mean, a signal, like the frequency of a radio transceiver. In Spain there are said to be bats such that, he says, if people heard the cry that bat (?), pregnant women would miscarry, and a heart patient, he says, would die of the heart. (?) your heart, a machine, is working. Until when? It runs wound up to a certain point.

And your lungs are a laboratory machine. Only if a laboratory as big as the world (?) would it do its job. So which one will you mention? The brain on a human? Yes. He has created; the Creator proves it. Look, there is none but Me, He says. Since you came into the world — that is, not since your mother and father, but since humankind first came into the world — who is this? Since our forefather Adam. You have always been listening to Me, He says. Look, I am always here. I always address you. I always tell of your forefather Adam and of those who came after them. I also tell of those who will come, up to the end.

And when those times come, what I said comes true, He says. So I programmed the worlds. At the end of this program, this Doomsday will break. And however long you lie under the earth, I will resurrect you and call you to account, He says. Well then, is there a god besides Me, He says. Let him prove it too. Is there anyone like that? Pharaoh came out, said "I am god", and was gone. Nimrod came out, said "I am god", and was gone. Another came out, said "I am this", and was gone.

They are all Allah's creations. So be careful, to anyone other than Allah never (?); whatever you ask for, ask of Allah. He is our Mawla, He is our Owner, our Creator.

The Creator does not will injustice to His creations. But look at the people who, in Surah Al-A'raf, verse 179, say: "Indeed, We have created many of mankind and jinn for Hell" and so accuse Allah of injustice — poor people. Anyway, with our warnings to them, in this year's book of the Diyanet, in its edition, they have written what we said. By oath, Hell was created for many of mankind and jinn. Yes, so turn to Allah, ask of Allah; besides our Lord, that is, besides the One who created us, there is no other god, and our return will be to Him. We came to this world to prove, for a certain time in the world, what kind of person we are.

Because in the hereafter, since our Lord created us like His Being, we could not recognize Allah Almighty there. Because we could not recognize Him, what does He say to us? Had We willed, He says, We would have hung down from the clouds with angels and made you prostrate. That is, We them — that is, man to Allah Almighty: I saw You as like myself. I saw You like my own being. My Lord, had You sent me to a hidden world, look how I would have (?) You there — so that you would not say this, I sent you to this world. I sent you to a world where I do not show My Being, He says. So Surah Ta-Ha, verse 134, which I mentioned a moment ago, proves this.

Yes.

While they should return to Allah Almighty, on the contrary, people, as if they had never heard such an event nor listened to it, are carried away by the temptation of the nafs and Satan and, blind and deaf, remain spectators to these events. Becoming slaves to the temptation of their nafs and the temptation of Satan, they never give up obeying them. If you are truthful, bring your conclusive proof. Allah Almighty, having in every respect of His Being thus proven that there is no other god besides Him, addresses people. O people! If, apart from these proofs, you too have your own conclusive proofs that besides Allah there is another god, then put them forward too, He says. Thus Allah Almighty, regarding there being no other god besides Him, challenges people.

He challenges the worlds. By challenging people, He challenges the worlds. Because people were created honored above the worlds — that's why. We created you honored above the worlds, He says.

So challenging people like this also challenges the worlds.
