Translation

Say, “It may be that some of what you hastily desire will come upon you.”

Tafsir

Allah (swt) addressed the Prophet (s.a.w.) and said, "Say to these people who disbelieve in Allah: Some of the torment which you wish to come quickly will soon come upon you.

When people disobeyed Allah (swt), disbelieved in the Prophets He sent, and turned away from Allah (swt) by calling His miracles magic or sorcery, Allah (swt) destroyed the people who rebelled against Allah (swt) by exceeding the limits set by Allah (swt) on earth. But Allah, Who made the Prophet (pbuh) alive, will never again cause people to perish for the sake of the Prophet (pbuh), so He gives them two or three calamities a year.

Say to these disbelieving people who do not believe that a part of the torment which you want quickly will be given to you in this world. The real torment is in the eternal abode of Hell in the Hereafter, which you do not believe in and oppose.

We said that Allah (swt) lifted the destruction for the sake of the Prophet (s.a.w.). We have written the reason for this in our previous lessons. Let us briefly remind you here. Our Prophet (SAW) is alive. He came as a mercy to the worlds. In this respect, Allah (swt) has abolished destruction for the sake of His Messenger. That is why there will be no destruction for people on earth until the Day of Judgment. However, since Allah will not stand by and watch the filth that these people do, He instead gives them calamities that will reform them. A proverb comes to my mind against these calamities that Allah (swt) has given to people. To those who understand, the mosquito is sharp, to those who do not understand, the drum is small. May Allah (swt) give us all a good comprehension and understanding.

What is said in the video

We have come to Surah An-Naml, verse 72.

Say: part of what you want to come quickly, of the punishment, will surely soon befall you, it says. Part of it. What is the punishment? Part of it is calamities. Another part is death. And the other, of course, is the Day of Judgement. Allah Almighty, addressing the Prophet (peace be upon him): to these people who deny Allah, say: part of the punishment you want to come quickly will soon befall you. As people opposed Allah Almighty and did not believe in the prophets He sent, and moved away from Allah by calling their miracles sorcery or saying "this is magic", the peoples who rebelled against Allah, overstepping the limits Allah set on earth, Allah Almighty destroyed. But Allah Almighty, who made the Prophet (peace be upon him) alive, will not again bring destruction on people, for the sake of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and so He gives them two or three calamities a year. So, to these unbelieving deniers, say: part of the punishment you want quickly will be given to you while you are in this world.

The real punishment is in the hereafter you do not believe in and oppose, in the eternal abode of Hell. We said that Allah Almighty, for the sake of the Prophet (peace be upon him), lifted destruction. The reason for this we wrote in our earlier lessons. Let us briefly recall it here. The Prophet (peace be upon him) is alive. And he came as a mercy to the worlds. For this reason Allah Almighty lifted destruction for the sake of His Beloved. That is why there is no destruction for people on earth until the Day of Judgement. But since Allah will not stand by and watch the filth these people do, instead He gives calamities that will reform them.

Regarding these calamities Allah Almighty gives people, a proverb comes to my mind: to one who understands, a mosquito is music; to one who doesn't, even drum and zurna are not enough. May Allah Almighty grant us all good perception and understanding. Amen.
