And verily, it is a guide and mercy for the mu’min.
Tafsir
The Qur'an is a source of mercy and guidance only for the believers. Because Allah is complete and perfect. He is exempt from incomplete attributes. Therefore, its verses are the truth and a source of mercy and guidance that brings people out of darkness into light. Whoever follows the verses of the Qur'an, that person lives the greatness of his creation as a human being. Those who stray away from the Qur'anic verses and follow the paths of their own intellect, since human beings are intellectually incomplete, will continue on dark and swampy, as well as deviant paths, get stuck in dead ends, and live a life full of unrest and misfortune. They become the equivalent of the verse in the Holy Qur'an that says, "They are human beings in their actions, and in some of their actions they are even lower than animals". The nafs (ego's desire) makes this life pleasant for the human being, and because the human being cannot compromise with the filth and lust of the nafs, egoism and pride, he cannot get rid of these vile ways, they cannot leave these swamps.
People who turn their backs on the Qur'an will be subjected to eternal torment in the Hereafter because they have disobeyed Allah's commands. The Qur'an is a book that teaches people what they do not know and has been sent by the Lord of the worlds as a guidance and a mercy. Only those who are subject to it will find life in both worlds and attain felicity and true victory.
What is said in the video
We continue with verse 77 of Surah An-Naml.
Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Let us start with the verse.
Ve innehû le hüden ve rahmetün li'l-mü'minîn. And it is truly a guidance and a mercy for the believers. The Quran is a mercy for those believers. The Quran is only for the believers a source of mercy and guidance.
Now it says for the believers; isn't the Quran, which came to the worlds, a mercy for people?
In a verse Allah Almighty says the Quran increases the believer's faith and the disbeliever's disbelief. So it is a mercy to the believer. A mercy to the believer. How beautifully Allah Almighty puts it. He makes His verses support one another so beautifully. The Quran is a source of mercy and guidance only for the believers. Because Allah is (?). Allah is free from attributes of partnership. Therefore His verses are truth, bringing people out of darkness into light, a source of mercy and guidance. Whoever follows the verses of the Quran, that person lives the loftiness of his creation as the noblest of creatures.
And whoever turns away from the verses of the Quran and goes on along the path his own reason shows him, then, since people are created deficient in reason, these go on along dark, swampy and at the same time deviant paths and get stuck in dead ends; full of unrest and calamities is the life they live. In the verse, they are human by the deeds they do. Even, with some of their deeds, corresponding to the verse that says they are (?) than animals, they come to that state.
Because he cannot give up his ego and pride, he cannot escape these base paths. They cannot leave these swamps. Because it does not please their nafs. If he leaves, it does not please his nafs. He falls into the state of people who vegetate, living by their own reason. Because his nafs is unruly; it will do what it wants. People who turn their backs on the Quran, since they oppose Allah's commands, moreover remain subject to eternal punishment in the hereafter. So the Quran is a book that teaches people what they do not know, sent by the Lord of the worlds as a guidance and a mercy. But only those who follow it, in both worlds (?), attain salvation. They gain the true victory.
Yes. Otherwise, the victories of states fade after a certain time. You take from me, I take from you. In this way we celebrate each other's victories. In the end that victory turns into loss. What happens? It is lost, it goes. But the victory of religion, with Allah, its loftiness, beside Allah's loftiness: if you have made yourself beloved to your Lord, if you have gained His nearness, if you have gained Paradise, then you have won the victory. If you have gained Paradise. But how beautifully Yunus Emre puts it. Paradise, Paradise, what they call it is a few houris, a few youths; to whoever wants it give it. I need You, You, he says.
How beautifully he puts it.
