Translation

When they are told to believe in what Allah has brought down, they say; “We only believe in what was sent down to us”, although this Qur’an came as the Truth, to confirm the Book they have with them. Tell them, “If you sincerely believe, why did you kill the Prophets who came to you?”

Tafsir

When they are told to believe in the Book sent down by Allah, they say, 'We believe only in what has been sent down to us. However, the Qur'an sent by Allah (swt) is a book that confirms the Torah in their hands. But when the disbelief in a person's heart stirs up his nafs (ego) and makes his intellect dysfunctional, it drives him to such a state of heedlessness that he cannot see his surroundings. In this state, they stir up trouble, sow discord, tell all kinds of lies freely, and are filled with hatred and revenge. These people think that they are taking revenge on Allah (swt) by plunging into the darkness of shirk with the lies they fabricate to comfort themselves a little. In this situation they try to satisfy themselves. Their belief is like the construction of a building without a foundation. If they really believed in the Torah, they would also believe in the Qur'an that has come before them. In this case Allah (swt) says: O my Messenger! Tell them why you killed the prophets who came to you if you really believed. If you were truthful, you would have obeyed the Messengers I sent and found the Truth.

These people use the Torah in their hands for their own benefit. They deceive their own souls by using the word of Allah with the parts that suit them. It is not that they believe in the Torah and adhere to it.

No one can deceive Allah (swt). In one of His Verses, Allah (swt) says, "We know what is in your hearts. We even know what is hidden in the farthest corners of your hearts that you do not know). So, when a person's clairvoyance is closed with hatred against Allah, he will never be reformed. When a person has faith in Allah, he believes and is loyal to everything that comes from Him.

What is said in the video

We come to the 91st verse. When they are told, 'Believe in what Allah has sent down,' 'We believe only in what was sent down to us.'

Now, the meaning is deep. (?) this. When they believe — when they are told, 'Believe in what Allah has sent down,' 'what Allah has sent down' — the Torah, the Psalms, the Gospel, the Quran, all of them, it says — when they are told, 'Believe,' 'No, I believe only in what was sent down to me.' 'I believe in the Torah.' Or 'I believe in the Psalms.' Or 'I believe in the Gospel.' When they say this, they contradict, right at the outset, the verse He stated at the start. What was that at the start? 'When they are told, Believe in what Allah has sent down.' So that means the Torah, the Psalms, the Gospel, the Quran.

Whatever He sent down, believe in it. Who says this? Allah says it. Believe in My law. No. (?) they killed Menderes. After that a law was passed. The 27 May holiday. Can I now say, 'I accept the 27 May holiday'? No, I don't accept it. Why don't I accept it? Because the constitution changed. What does it say? It says 27 May is not a holiday.

Well. If I now said 27 May is a holiday, what would they do to me? They would say (?).

If I acted against constitutional law, what would they say? They would find me guilty at once. (?) inside. And now, along with the old laws? I'll, um, do what's-it. I'll be sentenced. Before our currency law changed, we had billions. The money changed. It became the New Turkish Lira. And the New Turkish Lira became the Turkish Lira. Now, with those billions — 'No, I accept this money.' Am I going to shop with these, saying, 'I don't accept your lira'? Look at the verse, pay attention. How beautiful. Understand the verses well. What does it say? 'When they are told, Believe in what Allah has sent down, they say, We believe only in what was sent down to us, whereas this Quran is the true Book that has come confirming the book in their hands.

Say to them: If you truly believe, the prophets who came to you — why did you kill them?' 'Say to them,' it says: if you truly believe — come on, if in the Torah in your hands too you believe, it says, look. If you believe in the Torah in your hands too — if you believed, why did you kill your prophets? Or if you truly believe in the book in your hands, the Gospel — Jesus came to the Jews with the Gospel; why did you kill your prophet? Or you tried to kill him. Yes.

When they are told, 'Believe in the Book that Allah Almighty sent down,' they say, 'We believe only in what was sent down to us.' Whereas the Holy Quran that Allah Almighty sent is a book confirming the Torah in their hands. But the kufr in a person's heart stirs up his nafs, and when it makes his mind stop working, it drags him into heedlessness to the point that he cannot see around him. What is it? When the nafs flares up, when from their own tribe he did not come, when it turns to rebellion, it draws a curtain before his mind, a curtain, and with the whims of the nafs pours out its rebellion.

Why? His nafs overpowers his mind. Look, what does Allah Almighty say in (?)? 'If We are to make a person have an accident, before making him have it — since within his destiny a misfortune is going to strike — We first take away his mind,' it says.

A verse. Since a misfortune is coming, We first take away his mind. So with them too, their nafs overpowers them so much that that mind, that mind it veils; now the mind in him is no longer a mind; with the nafs flaring up, in the temptation Satan gives him, he brings his rebellion out into the open. The mind is out of the circuit.

In this state they muddy everything, stir up strife, tell every kind of lie with ease, and fill with hatred and revenge.

When he takes on that trait, when the mind is out of the circuit, what would they do? Since the nafs is (?), now, in the way of pleasing itself, what will it do? It will go outside all that Allah said, so that the nafs is pleased. The nafs enjoys drink, enjoys gambling, fornication, enjoys wealth, enjoys material things; approach worship, and it weighs you down. It does not like it. When you do a good deed, it makes you stingy. It does not like it. That is, the nafs does nothing in the way of Allah.

So when a person follows his nafs, look what that nafs makes people do. In this state they muddy everything. Like their nafs, they drown in corruption. They gossip. They set people against each other. That is, they take from one to the other, from one to the other. They tell each other words that were never said. They stir up strife. They tell every kind of lie with ease. They fill with hatred and revenge. These people, to relieve themselves even a little, with the lies they make up, with the darkness of shirk, thinking they have taken revenge, try to satisfy themselves.

Their belief is like the construction of a building without a foundation. Belief. Does a building without a foundation stand?

If they had truly believed in the Torah, they would also have believed in the Quran that came before them. So Allah Almighty: 'O My Beloved, tell them: If you truly believe, why did you kill the prophets who came to you? Had you been truthful, you would have obeyed the prophets I sent and found the truth.' Thus He decrees. Yes.

These people use the Torah they hold in their hands for their own interests. The Torah — what was it? The Torah they hold in their hands — they use it for their own interests. What is their own interest in this? Because they are worldly — worldly. Because they are very devoted to their lineage, there are writings in it, as Allah's word, that out of their own heads they made up. They cling to those writings faithfully. After all, they made it up themselves. They cling to them faithfully, as though Allah said it, and in that case they obeyed it. That is, thinking they obeyed the Torah, their own selves they deify, and so they have obeyed their own selves.

Not the Torah. Not the Torah.

What is it? These people use the Torah they hold for their own interests.

Using the parts of Allah's word that suit them, they deceive their own selves. It is not because they believe in the Torah and are bound to it.

No one can deceive Allah Almighty.

No one at all can deceive Allah. People deceive one another. Their deceptions get through the gate of people's reason and logic. But when it reaches Allah's gate, it stops. It stops there.

In a verse, Allah Almighty: 'We know what passes through your hearts. Even what you need but do not know, hidden in the farthest corner of your heart — We know that too,' He declares. So once a person's resentment toward Allah — once a person's insight is shut by resentment toward Allah, he will never prosper. Insight is shut. That is, he gave his covenant to Allah that way; and against the verse, have they had their own hearts sealed? 'O my Lord, however much You say, my ears,' he says, 'are veiled against Your verses,' he says, 'veiled.' Yet what does Allah Almighty say? 'My verses, to your ear, are not veiled,' He says. 'You drew the curtain yourself,' He says, 'you drew the curtain yourself; you do not want to hear,' He says. 'Otherwise We sent Our verses in such a way as to make all words heard in people's ears,' He says. 'My eye,' he says, 'is blind to seeing the truth.' 'We show you,' He says, 'so many miracles; you see them, but you don't want to see; you yourself veil them,' He says. 'So, because there is rebellion in you against your Lord, there is no returning to your Lord for you; you had your heart sealed like this,' He tells me.

So once a person's insight is shut by resentment toward Allah, he will never prosper. Once a person has faith in Allah, to everything that comes from Him he says 'saddak'; he believes and stays true.
