Al-Baqarah 113: Jews have said about Christians “they are not based on anything with regard to religion” and Christians have said about Jews “they are not based on anything with regard to religion.” (They say) this although they are reading from the Torah and Bible that was sent down to them. The ones who don’t know (Arab polytheists who are illiterate) also say as Jews and Christians say. Allah will judge on the Day of Judgment about the things they have a dispute among each other.

Jews have said about Christians “they are not based on anything with regard to religion” and Christians have said about Jews “they are not based on anything with regard to religion.” (They say) this although they are reading from the Torah and Bible that was sent down to them. The ones who don’t know (Arab polytheists who are illiterate) also say as Jews and Christians say. Allah will judge on the Day of Judgment about the things they have a dispute among each other.
Tafsir
There were also Christians among the Arabs. At one point, a group of Christian Arabs from Najran appeared before the Messenger of Allah. Seeing this, the Jews also came to the Messenger of Allah. The Jews and the Arab Christians argued in the presence of the Messenger of Allah. That is why these verses were revealed.
As we all know, the Jews had the Torah and the Christians had the Bible. Even though all the verses were confirming each other, there were disputes between Jews and Christians because they were following their own judgment and not the book in their hands. Jews do not believe in the Bible and do not accept Jesus as a prophet. The Christians did not believe in the Book of Torah and did not accept Hazrat Moses as a prophet. Although the Books in their hands described the qualities of both prophets, they were making decisions based on their own egoistic feelings. Despite this, they obeyed the verses that suited them, and those that did not suit them, they changed the verses with their own hands, saying that this is the way it should be according to their own minds, making themselves believe in the ideologies they invented, and making their own decisions on religion.
Yet these two parties were reading the Book in their own hands. Nevertheless, both sides went to the extent of denying each other, trying to gain the upper hand over each other in order to cause sedition. They were arguing in the presence of the Messenger of Allah. When the Holy Prophet showed them the Book in their hands and showed them what was written in the Bible and the Torah in the Qur'an, confirming the verses they were disputing, they turned their backs to the Holy Prophet and left.
The illiterate polytheists of both sides speak the way they speak. In other words, one did not believe in the Bible and Jesus Christ and the other did not believe in the Torah and Moses.
Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection in that in which they differ. Allah knows best of all those who deny the Verses of Allah by changing them with their hands, acting in the direction of their ego, even though they have read the Book in their hands.
Therefore, on the Day of Judgment, in the Court of Judgment, people will be held to account for what they have done. On that Day, when the Judgment belongs to Allah alone, everyone will be fully rewarded for what he has done. Allah (swt) will judge between people as the judge of judges. Without wronging any soul, all souls will be judged by the rewards and sins of their own two hands and each soul will be sent to its rightful place.
What is said in the video
Having answered our question like this today, we come to Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 113.
The Jews said of the Christians: they are not on anything in matters of religion. And the Christians said of the Jews: in matters of religion they are not on anything. Yet all of them read the Torah and the Gospel revealed to them. The Arab polytheists, who are not People of the Book and cannot read or write, also say the same as the Jews and the Christians say. Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection in what they differed about, He says.
Indeed, on the Day of Resurrection He will judge between them, He says. Yes. Among the Arabs there were also Christians. (?) the Najran group of the Christian Arabs came before the Messenger of Allah, and the Jews who saw this always came forward too. They came before the Messenger of Allah. The Jews who saw this also came to the Messenger of Allah. The Jews and the Arab Christians argued in the presence of the Messenger of Allah. These verses were revealed upon this. That is, the Prophet (peace be upon him), (?) the Jews, that is, the Christians, that Najran tribe, those who were Christians, do not recognize the Torah.
And the Jews do not recognize the Gospel. Yet all of them are true. They come from the Truth. Those books, the books in their hands, all confirm one another, affirm one another, are of the same kind. In this case, although they read their own books, they take the verses that suit them and judge by them. The others, those that do not fit their ideology, they throw away. In this case they decide by themselves and call it religion.
What does Allah Almighty say? On the Day of Resurrection judgment will be passed between them, He says. Yes. In what they differed about, judgment will be passed between them on the Day of Resurrection, He says. As we all know, the Jews have the Torah and the Christians have the Gospel in their hands. Although all the verses confirm one another, because the Jews and Christians followed not the book in their hands but the judgments they themselves made, arguments arose between them. The Jews do not believe in the Gospel. They do not accept Jesus as a prophet. If they had, they would not have tried to kill him anyway.
And the Christians both did not believe in the Torah and did not accept Moses as a prophet. Yet although the books in their hands describe the qualities of both prophets, they made decisions with their selfish feelings. Despite this, they followed the verses that suited them, and those that did not suit them, saying by their own reason "it must be like this", changing the verses with their hands, convincing themselves of the ideologies they had invented, they made their own decisions about religion by themselves.
After that, because it went against their own ideology, arguments arose between them. Why? I do not argue about the Gospel. Why do I not argue about the Psalms? Why do I not argue about the Torah?
Because all three are true. The most correct writing of all three is in the Holy Quran. Ah, but what is in their hands, don't believe that. I don't believe what is in their hands. Because with their hands they changed the Gospel, the Torah and the Psalms. With their hands. Now, Jesus, before he was killed, first, when Jesus said: who are helpers in Allah's religion, the 40 disciples said: we are, O Jesus. And they spread to the four corners of the world. Forty disciples write the Gospel. And the Gospels the forty wrote do not agree with one another.
Because they wrote it as they understood it.
In fact, one of them too: there is the Apple Church, the Dark Church in Göreme. He came there, and they wrote the Gospel there.
In this case, we affirm all the prophets. They are true, they are Allah's messengers. All the books are true. Because the scripture is a book sent by Allah, it is true. All of them are within the Holy Quran. We affirm them all, we declare with our tongues and affirm with our hearts. They are the messengers Allah sent, and the books are true. Yes.
Yet these two sides were reading the books in their own hands. Even so, both sides, in a way that would cause strife, trying to gain superiority over each other, went further and further in calling each other liars, calling each other liars. That is: your religion is true, my religion is true. Yet all of them are books Allah Almighty sent to peoples.
He sent that to the Jew. He sent the Psalms. Then He sent the Gospel.
When Allah Almighty sends books to peoples, He confirms one prophet by another prophet, and when He sends another prophet, He wants them to follow that prophet of His. Why does He send the prophet in the first place? According to the time, according to people's mental make-up, according to, let me say, the burden they will carry, He sends them the verses, and how He is to be worshipped, in line with those verses, Allah Almighty shows them the way. In this case, while the "you versus me" quarrel should disappear, these by not believing one another, by calling Allah's messengers and books liars, fall into error.
Into error. Yes. They kept quarrelling in the presence of the Messenger of Allah. And the Prophet, showing them the book in their hands, what was written in the Gospel and Torah, the verses they were quarrelling about, as affirmed in the Quran, when he showed it in the Quran, when he showed it in the Quran, they turned their backs on the Prophet and (?). What did they do? The two split into those groups. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) showed what was in the books in their hands as affirmed in the Holy Quran: both are true. What is in the Gospel is true. What is in the Torah, (?), and from the book in their hands, these are true.
The unchanged ones, of course. They did not change all of it anyway. The unchanged ones. These are true. Why do you keep arguing among yourselves? Why do you keep denying Allah's verses? When he said this, they turned their backs and left. Yes. And the polytheists of both sides, who cannot even read, talk like these talk. That is, one does not believe in the Gospel and in Jesus. And the others did not believe in Moses in the Torah. Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection in what they differed about. What is it they differed about? Things that went against their selves and did not please them, that went against their ideologies; saying "it must be like this", denying Allah's verses (?), the one in this, the other in that; what will Allah Almighty do? In what you differed about, He says, We will pass judgment on you.
He will say to him: O so-and-so, son of so-and-so, you, you, in such and such situations, with your selfish feelings, or with the passion to be a leader, or by setting up a superiority, or for such an interest of yours, you denied these verses. I will pass judgment on him. Those feelings of his, those actual deeds, He sets them going anyway. This is what you were, He says. Look, this is why you did this. This is why you denied this. Yes. I will pass judgment, He says. Yes. Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection in what they differed about. Although they read the book in their hands, acting in line with their selves, changing Allah's verses with their hands; those who deny, of course, better than anything else Allah knows.
(?) For this reason, on the Day of Resurrection, in the supreme court, people will be called to account for what they did. For their deeds. Only on that day when judgment belongs to Allah, on that day when judgment belongs to Allah alone, on that day, judgment is Mine alone, He says. Where? On the Day of Resurrection, (?), we will be resurrected. That supreme court will be set up. When people are called to account, on that day judgment is Mine alone. There is no just falling off the Sirat, let me say, going to hell or whatever. Everyone's judgment will be given. Everyone will be subjected to questioning.
No one in that supreme court will go to punishment without his account being settled, will fall, nor go to hell. It must be that day of reckoning. After that reckoning everyone will go to their places. They will go to paradise, to hell. What does the verse say? When they realize they will go to hell, out of fear their eyes, He says, turn sky-blue (?), He says. They throw themselves face down on the ground. The verse is what they say. And We, He says, have them seized by their forelocks. That is, have them seized by the scruff of their necks. And We have them thrown in through one of the gates of hell, He says.
After their accounts have been settled. Listen well. His verses are very beautiful, one Yes.
Although they read the book in their hands, acting in line with their selves, Allah's verses changed with their hands; those who deny, of course, better than anything else Allah knows. For this reason, on the Day of Resurrection, in the supreme court, people with what they did will be called to account. Only on that day when judgment belongs to Allah, everyone will see the return of what they did in full. In full. Allah Almighty, E leysallâhu bi-ahkemi'l-hâkimîn, as the judge of judges, will pass His judgment among people. Without wronging any soul, all souls will be judged with their rewards and sins, the return for their two hands, and every soul will be sent to the place it (?).
Yes.
