Translation

Wherever you go out from, face (during the prayer) toward Masjid al-Haram. Wherever you go out from, face towards that direction so that – with the exception of oppressors – there is no evidence against you among the people. Do not fear them; fear Me so that I will complete My blessings towards you. This way, you will find guidance.

Tafsir

(I have given you the name of Islam and made you witnesses over the other nations.) So wherever you set out on your journey or expedition, turn your faces towards the Masjid al-Haram, so that those who see you may see that you are united in unity and that you turn towards the Lord, the One. That they may realize that they have erred in what they differed about, and that you may be witnesses of the truth over them.

(Except those who are unjust among them (except those who are subject to their stubbornness), so that you have no evidence against you among the people). By those who do injustice among them, I mean those who are outside Islam, those who embrace Islam but are prevented from doing so by the enemies of Islam, those who are caught up in racism, nationalism, idol worship, etc., those who live Islam against those who think of leaving the ways of their ancestors even though they are devoted to Islam, and those who live Islam should not be bad examples for them. They should not act outside of Islam and should not have any evidence against those who are hesitant in their hearts. People who are going to enter Islam should not behave in a way that makes people who are going to enter Islam say that those who are living Islam are doing the same as us, and that will push those who are going to enter Islam away from Islam.

(Except for those who are subject to their stubbornness) These are the people who have been subjected to the Verse (Adwwwallahu wa adwwwaqum). People whose hearts have embraced disbelief and are enemies of Allah. Except for these, that is, they can make all kinds of slander and speeches. Do not pay attention to them. Because their hearts are full of hatred and hatred against Allah (swt). In this respect, their words will not benefit my servants who know me, as it says in a verse (Satan's temptation to my servant who knows me is ignorant). Except for those who are subject to their stubbornness, their wandering in this world is for a short time. In the end, they will be caught and thrown where they deserve according to the Verse (All souls will taste death).

(So do not fear them) O People! After such clear events, when My Self has been proven to you publicly and visibly, with proofs above you, do not fear My creations as in the times of ignorance, but fear your Lord, the Creator of all the worlds, for (all beings will be returned to Allah) according to the Verse. For according to the Verse (all beings will be returned to Allah), every soul will give an account before Allah (swt). In another verse, our Lord says, "If there is anyone to be loved the most, it is me, and if there is anyone to be feared the most, it is me". So fear of Allah's creatures is a sign of people's weakness in faith.

(So that I may complete My favor towards you) Even if some of the people do not believe in Allah, Allah will complete His favor on those who believe and those souls will reach perfection. Allah, the Creator of these worlds, has given them their destiny according to their desires and wishes in accordance with the covenant He made with them in the previous worlds. In this case, Allah (swt) has programmed the worlds until the Day of Judgment and placed those who know Him among the people who will come until the Day of Judgment. Whether people want it or not, Allah (swt) will complete His light on the worlds in the time to come until the Day of Resurrection. No one will be able to disrupt Allah's program. The Day of Judgment will not end until all the people who were created in the realm of Lahut, lifted to the realm of Berzah and from there will come to the realm of property, come to this realm. Allah (swt) will have completed His will and His blessings upon mankind.

(So that you may hope for guidance.) O you who believe! You should follow the commands of Allah so that Allah may guide you. If you are grateful for Allah's blessings and remember your Lord, if you are patient with the good and evil that comes from Allah, if you observe the five pillars of Islam after saying the Tawheed, if you pray, if you fast, if you have money, if you are subject to zakat, if you pay your zakat, if hajj is obligatory on you, if you go to hajj, if hajj is obligatory on you, if you abstain from Allah's commands and prohibitions, then you will attain Allah's mercy and you will be guided. The meaning of "until" here is that Allah Ta'ala will grant you the mercy of Allah Ta'ala and you will be guided within a given period of time for those who will become Muslims among these people. The meaning of "until" here is very broad. People have become Muslims, but while they are living Islam, their intentions have been corrupted, and since deeds depend on intentions, those whose intentions are corrupted will not benefit from their acts of worship. There is a hadith that says, "If your acts of worship do not prevent you from evil deeds, then those acts of worship are a burden to you". The meaning of burden here is that Allah (swt) says in one of His Verses (Fe men ya'mel miskâle zerratin fan yerah. And men ya'mel miskâle zerratin sharran yerah) a miskal particle of good that you have done is written, and a miskal particle of evil that you have done is also written. So you have worshipped, you have received good deeds, but you have also earned sin by your evil deeds. Maybe the sin you have earned has exceeded the good you have done. At that time, the rewards you have received from your worship have been taken away by your sins, so your worship has become a burden for you.

In other words, no one should try to decide for Allah (swt) with the acts of worship they perform. The judgment is Allah's. We can only hope for Allah's Mercy in return for our acts of worship, the decision is for Allah.

What is said in the video

At verse 150 of Surah Al-Baqarah we had stopped.

In the verse Allah Almighty says: wherever you set out on a journey from, in prayer turn your face toward the Masjid al-Haram, turn it that way. That is, toward Mecca the Honored, the qibla of Islam, turn it toward the House of Allah. Wherever you are, turn your face that way, so that those among them who do wrong, those who follow their obstinacy, what does this mean? Those who follow their obstinacy: though they know the truth is the truth, because their nafs rebels against Allah, those who follow their obstinacy and do not turn to the truth, excepted, there may be no argument against you among people; that is, those who are enemies of Islam because of their obstinacy may not say: look, even among these there are divisions, splits exist, these too have split into factions.

Or: they have lost their qibla, or they have changed their qibla, so they don't say that, He says, so they don't say it. Now you too, of them do not be afraid, fear only Me. If there is anyone to be feared, He says, if there is anyone to be feared most, it is Me; if there is anyone to be loved most, He says, that too is Me, Allah Almighty. So that I may complete My favor upon you. When He says upon you, whom does He mean? Is Allah Almighty here telling us of a division among people? No. Whoever obeys My command has taken his place in the ranks of the Sharia ruling I have stated. Whoever takes his place there, upon them I complete My favor, He says.

I complete My favor.

You may hope to attain guidance, He says. You may hope. You can hope. You may hope. Yes.

Let's write that down.

We move on to the commentary: O you who believe, the name Islam I gave you, and I made you witnesses over the other nations; according to this verse, in this case, wherever you set out (?) or on a journey, turn your face toward the Masjid al-Haram, so that those who see you see that you are in unity and togetherness and that you turn to the one Lord. Meanwhile, when you set out on a journey, it may be that you cannot find the qibla; after searching, He says, whichever way you stand, the East and the West belong to Allah. This is an exception, this is an exception: if among them someone, or if the qibla is known, everyone is obliged to turn toward that qibla.

So that in what they fell into division over, they realize they were mistaken, and that you may be true witnesses over them. What are we saying here? Let them realize they were mistaken in what they fell into division over. Who? People outside the ideology of Islam, outside the religion of Islam, holding those ideologies, let them know that they themselves are in error. Look, in Islam, in unity and togetherness, to the qibla of that one Allah they turned.

Even if he is an unbeliever,

even if he is a polytheist, whatever ideology he holds, he knows he was created by one Allah. Because when Allah Almighty, in the world of spirits, to that person, through the intellect we call (?), he knows he was created by a Lord. One of Allah Almighty's attributes is Rabb, Lord. Rabb means to create, means creator, creator, creator. That is why we use the word Rabb here, so the person knows he was created, knows he was created by a Lord. Already within that (?), when He said I am your Lord, those who saw Allah Almighty as close to their own being, because they awaited the Lord of their imagination, did not believe in Allah.

So: let them realize they were mistaken in the things they fell into division over. What is it they fell into division over? That the religion of Islam is of the one Allah; that the Seal of the Prophets, who came as a mercy to the worlds, Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him), is the last prophet; that the Holy Quran, gathering all the books within it, was sent to all the worlds as a proof and a light, a radiance; although they know this, these, out of their obstinacy, because they fell into opposition to this religion of Islam, out of their obstinacy. And you, wherever you are, if you turn your direction as qibla to the House of Allah, these will understand they were mistaken. That within the unity and togetherness of Islam there are no divisions, that they have not split, whereas among themselves they have fallen into factions and splits; we saw it, let them see it, and you over them, on this proven truth, since they realize they were wrong, may be witnesses, He says.

Yes.

And that you may be true witnesses over them. Those among them who do wrong, who follow their obstinacy, excepted. So that among people there is no argument against you. Within Islam; this is addressed to Islam. Those who follow their obstinacy, excepted: some people, not over the religion of Islam but over certain things, act obstinately. So that among people too there is no argument against you. By those among them who do wrong is meant: among those outside Islam, those who did not embrace Islam and are held back by the enemies of Islam. Held back. Caught up in things like Ülkücülük, that is, nationalism, idol worship, those who, though they have given their hearts to Islam, think of leaving their forefathers' ways; toward them, those who live Islam should not be bad examples to them; by acting in un-Islamic ways, toward such people with doubtful hearts, they should not hand them an argument; they should not make those about to enter Islam say: those who live Islam act just like us, and so, those about to enter Islam, from Islam drive away with such conduct and attitudes.

Yes. Is this understood? Not understood? Understood.

Here, those who follow their obstinacy, excepted: these are people subject to the verse adüvvallahi ve adüvveküm.

People whose hearts have embraced kufr, who are enemies of Allah.

Who are they? Those who follow their obstinacy, excepted. Not that these people are those Allah is enemy to; they explain this verse wrongly, Allah protect us; Allah is no one's enemy. Those hostile to Allah are the people who keep kufr alive in their hearts. People whose hearts have embraced kufr, who are enemies of Allah. These are excepted; that is, every kind of slander and talk they may engage in. These are people who have embraced every kind of smearing, slander, and oppressing people. And you, pay no heed to them, Allah Almighty says, to what they say. Now, why pay no heed? If I haven't killed a man, you can say to me as much as you like, hey, why did you kill those men?

But I didn't kill anyone; say it as much as you like. Listen to your own words yourself. Or: hey, why did you usurp Mehmet's right? But I didn't usurp Mehmet's right. Say it as much as you like. Because there is neither proof nor witness in your hand. So Allah Almighty too: pay no heed to them talking that way. Because out of their enmity toward you, which comes from the kufr in their hearts, they talk like this, He says. Yes.

They are people whose hearts embraced kufr, enemies of Allah. These are excepted. That is, they may engage in every kind of slander and talk. Pay no heed to them. Because their hearts are full of grudge and hatred toward Allah Almighty. Therefore their words have no effect on My servants who know Me. As I explained just now. That is, on people who know Allah, who judge by conscience between their own conscience and Allah, the judgment of those people has no hold.

In a verse He says: to My servant who knows Me, Satan's temptation is ignorant. That is why those who follow their obstinacy are excepted. Their roaming in this world lasts only a short time. In the end, according to the verse every soul shall taste death, yes, death: they are seized at their moments of death, and to the place they deserve they are taken. So now you too, do not fear them, says Allah Almighty. Why? They too are a human being like you. Going far in falsehood and kufr, marching against the truth, with their proofs that are like a spider's web, what if they attack that shield in your breast?

What good would it do? What can they do to you? So: do not be wary of them, He says. Do not be wary of them. O people! After such clear events, while My being has been proven to you openly and manifestly with proofs over you, do not fear, as in the Age of Ignorance, those I created, but fear our Lord who created all the worlds, He says. Fear your Lord. Yes.

Because, according to the verse, all beings will be returned to Allah. Every soul will give account in the presence of Allah Almighty. What is it? How beautifully Allah Almighty addresses people.

What does Allah Almighty say? O people!

Although I have so many proofs over you; whom is He addressing? The intellect. Here is the proof over Me: these worlds' running without pillars, by a knowledge, without colliding with one another, their course. The earth turning in 24 hours at a speed of 40 thousand kilometers, bringing about night and day and the seasons; the sun and the moon revolving around their axes, not drawing nearer or moving apart; placing the lunar calendar in the sky; and since Adam, our father, addressing us; destroying many peoples. Don't even go far; turn to yourself. Your eyes are a camera; they take and give instantly.

Recently a Polaroid camera was invented; it shoots and gives, but that too takes a certain time. Your ear is a radio set. It doesn't hear every sound. There are bats living in Spain. If people had heard the cry of those bats, he says, heart patients would die of heart failure. Pregnant women would miscarry from fear, he says. So the ear doesn't hear every sound. The heart is wound up like a watch spring.

It pumps to you the blood that keeps you alive.

These do not come together by chance. At sea level, the air pressure at 82-83 km corresponds to one atmosphere.

Since the pressure of that heart Allah Almighty created in the human body corresponds to one atmosphere, since this air pressure above a person and the pressure inside are equal, the person lives. Otherwise he would be crushed under it as by a roller. When mountaineers climb high mountains, with the excess of inner pressure, in the ears, as the outer pressure drops, bleeding occurs.

With what knowledge Allah has created! If Allah Almighty proves His being to every person of reason with so many scientific proofs, will you fear Allah's creatures bound by falsehood, hearts full of grudge and hatred, clowns unaware of themselves? With Allah standing by your side, or with you standing by Allah's side.

That is why Islam is (?). Islam fears nothing. Its only fear is Allah. Because Islam fears Allah, among the servants Allah created it treats them with compassion and mercy. This is the Muslim's mark, the light of faith: because he loves Allah, being compassionate and merciful toward what Allah created, that is it.

Yes, O people, after such clear events, while My being has been proven to you openly and manifestly with proofs over you, as I explained, as in the Age of Ignorance, do not fear those I created; fear the one who created all the worlds, your Lord. Because all beings will be returned to Allah, all souls will die, and in the end your return is to Me, says Allah Almighty.

All beings will be returned to Allah; according to the verse, every soul, in the presence of Allah Almighty, will give account. Every soul will give account in the presence of Allah Almighty.

I repeat this once more. Every soul will give account in the presence of Allah Almighty. Not, as the sophists say, falling down from the Sirat bridge into the (?) of hell; it will not go there. There is no such thing as a Sirat bridge either. Every soul will give account in the presence of Allah Almighty.

The guilty, in groups, according to the verse in Surah Az-Zumar, in groups, through a narrow gate of hell, will be thrown in. Listen well, those bound by sophistry, those bound by falsehoods, those who say (?) fake sheikh to shake the Islamic creed, listen well. Look, all the verses confirm one another. They do not contradict. Is there a single verse about the Sirat bridge?

Yes. Every soul will give account in Allah's presence. What does it say in the verse? All souls will taste death and your return is to Me, He says. No soul will go to paradise or hell without its account being seen.

Why will the Great Court be set up?

According to the verse, the return for what your two hands earned; according to the verse, did you think you would die without proving what kind of person you are? There, in the presence of Allah Almighty, at the Great Court: O My servant, in the world you were this, He will say. You were this. You, to My paradise. O man, you too were this in the world, He says. You, to hell. Otherwise, before getting there, without that account being seen, straight down from the Sirat bridge? Then where did the account go?

Nowhere.

What silence amounts to is falsehood. Because it has no end: falsehood. But the truth is never silent. The truth speaks with verses. This is the truth. What does Allah Almighty say? The truth has come, falsehood has vanished. Yes.

Again in a verse our Lord says: if there is one most loved, it is Me; if there is one most to be feared, that too is Me. So do not fear what Allah has created. It shows the weakness in a person's faith.

So that I may complete My favor upon you. Even if some of mankind do not believe in Allah Almighty, upon people Allah Almighty will complete His favor. Even if they don't believe, Allah Almighty will complete His favor upon people. How will He complete it? My wrath has surpassed My mercy. Within the lifetime of every person who comes to the world, Allah, within his destiny, will give his sustenance. That is Allah Almighty completing His favor upon him. That sustenance. And also, according to the covenant he gave Allah Almighty, if he is a good person, rewarding him and keeping him under His mercy.

Even if some of mankind don't believe in Allah Almighty, upon the believers Allah Almighty will complete His favor, the believers. To the unbelievers too He will give His favor; to him too He will give. He will give his sustenance. But the favor of paradise is forbidden to him. The favor of paradise, the reward, our Lord's mercy, is only for the believers. For those who take their place in Allah's ranks. Allah, who created these worlds, according to the covenant He took from people in the first barzakh, has given them their aims, according to their wishes and desires, as their destiny.

So Allah Almighty has programmed the worlds until the Day of Judgment, and those who know His being He has placed among the people who will come until the Day of Judgment. In every age there will arise people who remember and mention Allah. Yes. Whether people want it or not, in the time until the Day of Judgment, Allah Almighty will complete His light over the worlds. What does He say? Non-Muslims, to destroy the religion of Islam, with all their might are working.

The other evening, the man who came here saying I am Hazrat Jesus, this one, sold out by some people with ulterior motives, brainwashed; that he is Hazrat Jesus they made him believe, and they let him loose; this poor man they let loose. Behind him who is there? With his tie and his suit he goes about like a gentleman. Who are you, what are you, what are you to anyone; who covers the cost of his travels? People need to be alert. Yes. So what does Allah Almighty say? With the blowing of their mouths, He says,

did they think they would extinguish the religion of Islam? Allah will complete His light until the Day of Judgment, He says.

If Allah Almighty, who programmed these worlds, with His verses has sent His verses before us as light and proof, we choose our path under the light of the verses, sir. We find our way. And to those who can't find it, those who find their way explain it. Who are these who find their way? Scholars.

Not one who reads on his own and becomes a scholar, mind you. Look, it will hurt some, but let it not hurt them at all. Do you know who a scholar is? A scholar is a person who fits the hadith of the Prophet (peace be upon him); that person is a scholar. What is it? What is that scholar in the hadith? The wali of my ummah, that is, its saints, are like the prophets of the Children of Israel, he says. That person is a scholar. Not every wali, not every saint. Only people in the position of the Children of Israel, that is, raised by Allah Himself, and after raising them with that knowledge, our Lord Himself giving that person wisdom.

We, He says, to whomever We give knowledge, We give wisdom. What is wisdom? The ability to perceive. Being able to perceive at once the events in the verses. Look, I am writing the commentary. The commentary: I don't know what the verse further on is; I am explaining that verse, that verse. Then I see that I had explained that verse, and we show it as proof too. The whole book was written like this. That is Allah giving people wisdom, wisdom, alongside knowledge. Giving wisdom: the ability to perceive.

Whether people want it or not, in the time until the Day of Judgment, Allah Almighty will complete His light over the worlds. No one will be able to spoil Allah's program. They can't. Why? Allah Almighty will raise scholars until the Day of Judgment. To him, through inspirations, inspirations, the verses' meanings He will explain. If needed, by way of unveiling, to him the events corresponding to the verse He will show.

I have seen the events corresponding to many verses; my Lord showed them to me. First, of Surah Al-A'raf, verse 172: the covenant in that verse; in hell, their skins, He says, crack like parched earth, fresh skin comes from beneath, and again, sparks leaping like those yellow camels, He says, into the fire; may He protect us. These things, hell, paradise, these many events, He showed me. And I write what I saw with the verses, as their turn comes.

Can anyone come out and say that this thing you say you saw contradicts that verse? All verses confirm one another. So who is a scholar? A scholar is, just as the Prophet himself said, the wali of my ummah is like the prophets of the Children of Israel: the one into whose heart Allah Almighty, by inspiration, makes the verses' meanings known.

Do not, with that short mind of yours, decide like this, with that short mind: he proclaimed himself a prophet. To a prophet comes revelation, revelation. What comes? Revelation, revelation. Hodja, revelation was coming to him. What is the difference between revelation and inspiration? You are a person too ignorant to tell them apart. That is why you give this judgment. And I am waking you up so you won't give this judgment. What am I saying? Revelation is verses. A verse that has not come, that is, a verse yet to come, Allah Almighty making it known to His prophet by revelation. What is this? Revelation is the verse.

What is inspiration? Inspiration is giving to the servants, the servants in that prophet's ummah, the meanings of those verses. That is, raising them and sending them among people as scholars.

People won't be able to say: O my Lord, if You had sent us scholars, if You had sent people who would speak the truth, and we had been guided by them. They won't be able to say this. That is what we are explaining. We speak the truth.

Well, believe it or don't.

The Prophet explained too. He came as mercy to the worlds; whoever believed, believed; whoever didn't, didn't. Everyone will live their own destiny. No one has the authority to change anyone's destiny. Yes.

So, even if they (?), the religion of Islam will live until the Day of Judgment. And Allah Almighty will raise scholars among them and have them address people. Why? I do not hold anyone accountable for what I did not make known, He says. Yes, we continue with the verse.

No one will be able to spoil Allah's program. Created in the world of Lahut, raised to the world of Barzakh, and from there to the world of Mulk, until all the people who will come have come to this world, the Last Day will not break out. And Allah Almighty, His will and His favor upon people, will have completed.

You may hope to attain guidance. O you who believe, to you, if Allah's commands you carry out; that you carry out Allah's commands so that Allah may guide you. Whoever does what Allah says, Allah rewards him. The simplest: if you work as a worker in a factory, a worker, if you don't do what the factory, that manager or the factory owner or that foreman says, what do they do to you? Out you go. If you do, if you do what they say, what happens? You get your wage. So you too, if you turn your back on your Lord's commands, out you go too. Where? Outside the peace of paradise, to what He calls an evil place of return, you are (?) to hell.

But if you do what Allah says, you too our Lord's blessings will attain.

And we say: O you who believe, that you carry out Allah's commands so that Allah may guide you. If you give thanks for Allah Almighty's so many blessings and remember your Lord, if you are patient with the good and the evil that come from Allah; after the word of tawhid, which is one of the five pillars of Islam, if you perform your prayer, keep your fast, if you have money and are subject to zakat, give your zakat; if hajj has become obligatory on you, go on your hajj; if you guard yourselves by Allah's command and prohibition, yes, it is hoped that you will attain Allah's mercy and reach guidance.

The meaning expressed here by it is hoped that is very broad. People have become Muslims; while living Islam their intentions may become corrupt; since deeds depend on intention, the worship of those with corrupt intention brings them no benefit. That is why the word it is hoped that is used. If your intention is good as well, Allah will surely forgive you.

In a hadith he says: if the worship you perform does not keep you from evil, that worship is a burden on you. The meaning of burden here: Allah Almighty in a verse says, Fe men ya'mel miskale zerratin hayran yerah. Ve men ya'mel miskale zerratin şerran yerah. The good you have done, of an atom's weight, is written, and the evil you have done, (?), is written too. So you worshipped, you gained reward, but besides that, with the evil you did, you earned sin. Perhaps the sin you earned has exceeded the reward you gained. Then the rewards you gained by worshipping, your sins carried away, so the worship you did became a burden on you.

Another meaning: let no one, by the worship they have done, try to decide in place of Allah Almighty. Judgment belongs to Allah. We can only hope for Allah's mercy in return for our worship. The decision belongs to Allah alone. Yes.
