Al-Baqarah 164: Indeed, For the people who use their intellect, there are signs in the creation of the heavens and the earth; in the coming of the night and day after one another; in the sailing of ships on the sea, carrying things of benefit for humans; in the water which Allah brings down from the sky and uses to invigorate the dead earth; in that on earth, all kinds of living beings are distributed; and in the direction of the wind and clouds which are between the sky and earth and are ready for orders.

We come to verse 164. Verse 164 — we read 163, didn't we? Verse 164. Surely in the creation of the heavens and the earth, in the alternation of night and day, in the ships sailing the sea laden with things that benefit, in the water Allah sends down from the sky and with which He revives the dead earth, in His spreading every kind of living creature on earth, in His directing the winds and the clouds held ready for command between the earth and the sky, there are many proofs of Allah's existence and oneness for a people who think, it says. Look how beautifully it symbolizes it here. In what I explained before, too: there is no god but Allah.

Every person of reason must know this so, we said. Here, too, Allah Almighty says it so beautifully. Now we will open this sentence by sentence.

First let's read what we wrote; if there are gaps there, let us fill those gaps too. Not gaps really — we're going over it briefly.

In the following verses Allah Almighty, addressing reason, Allah Almighty, Owner of all the beings He created with His knowledge, wants to be known through the divine blessing of reason He has given people. What does He say? Surely in the creation of the heavens and the earth — think, He says, reflect. These heavens and the earth, and what is between the two — how are they created? And how do these, without pillars, without drifting from or approaching each other, turn around their own axes so that nights and days come about? Think about this. Is this a human power, a mortal power? Allah forbid.

So why does He say this? This point here is beautiful. In the following verses, 165-166, it will continue like that. Allah Almighty, addressing reason, Allah Almighty, Owner of all the beings He created with His knowledge, wants to be known through the divine blessing of reason He has given people. When people examine what Allah created, thanks to the blessing of reason in them they see Allah's existence as a proof upon themselves. They will say, Allah surely exists. They say this. Allah surely exists.

Yes, now let's take this here.

When people examine what Allah created, thanks to the blessing of reason in them they came to see Allah's existence as a proof upon themselves. The wisdom in the verse, surely in the creation of the heavens and the earth, in night and day following one another: in the heavens there are star clusters beyond our counting, many galaxies and large planets. Galaxies, large planets. These planets have been traveling in the heavens since the universe was created.

Yet no planet comes closer to or moves away from another planet, and these stars neither approach nor move away from each other. If they approached or moved away from each other, the planets in the heavens would collide, the order of the universe would break down, and the Day of Judgment would come.

The order of the heavens would also break down.

Yes, at the same time in the heavens the earth, sun and moon systems exist. With their turning around one another Allah Almighty has placed the lunar calendar in the sky. Again, by turning the earth around the sun, around the sun, He brought about the seasons and the years. By turning the earth around the sun. And at the same time, by the earth's turning around its own axis, nights and days have come about. If we think about it, in the earth's turning around its own axis there are such millimetric calculations that, millimetric, no one's reason or understanding can grasp it. Human reason cannot grasp those millimetric calculations.

Because it's a millimetric calculation with huge masses, huge weights. In a number beyond our imagination, the magnetic mass, the magnetism of the South Pole and the North Pole, with the weight of those numbers beyond our minds, by the magnetic masses repelling each other, the earth turning around its own axis at the same time, to the millimetric second. Always turning in twenty-four hours over time. Not a second ahead nor a second behind. Being able to calculate this. But now it turns a little short.

As a result of some events, and in the Last Day that people will bring about with their own hands, Allah Almighty — what does He say in the verse? We create what We create firm. Firm. Well, does the Day of Judgment come to what is created firm? It does not. But the Day of Judgment will come. You will bring about the Day of Judgment with your own hands, He says. How could I have the power for that? No. Do you use perfume sprays? Are you making money for the unbeliever (?)? For him to get the money from that perfume, to get that worldly gain, that worldly gain which is his god, did the substances in that perfume pierce the ozone layer?

Do holes and gaps keep opening? What is the ozone layer for, Hodja? The ozone layer filters the sun's ultraviolet rays and prevents their harm. If those ultraviolet rays come to the earth directly, then the magnetism at the North Pole they erase.

As its strength decreases, since the South Pole's magnetic power stays in place, against the one whose power decreases, when that repelling force stays the same, of course the earth's turning around its own axis will be restricted. This will open up even more in the future. And as it opens, the North Pole's magnetism will be erased. Then the earth, at the zero point, will begin turning backwards.

The sun's setting in the west and rising in the west will come about. Then the hadith will come true: years like months, months like weeks, weeks like days, days like hours, hours like minutes, and minutes like seconds — when it says that, what will happen? Because of centrifugal force, with the earth's turning around its own axis, because of centrifugal force the earth will explode; it will reach the point of explosion and explode. There is the verse for you: when the mountains pass like clouds, when the seas swell, when the earth casts out what is within it, when the sky flows like molten metal.

How beautifully it says it. How beautiful, how explicit the verses are.

That layer of fire of the earth we call the magma layer, those volcanoes — how they make the seas swell, don't they? We see it when it erupts in the seas. So when it explodes, what will the earth do because of centrifugal force? The seas — of course those volcanoes won't hold, they'll burst. They'll burst. And the earth will cast out what is within it. Because it exploded now, it's over.

The sky will flow like molten metal. How will it flow? The order broke down. They broke away from each other's gravity. Due to a substance rubbing at speed, from that friction heating will come about. And from that heating it will flow like molten metal. Today, from the air layer covering our earth, 83 kilometers or 82 kilometers, whatever it is, when they launch missiles, satellites, unless it goes out at a certain angle or unless it comes back in at a certain angle, because of the friction it burns. It burns, because at that speed, from its friction with the air layer, that metal turns to ash before it reaches the earth. So Allah Almighty protects our earth like this against meteorites too; those meteorites, when they enter from outside our world, when they enter through that atmosphere layer, by the time they complete those 82 km, they come down to earth as ash, or they strike a certain area with very little effect.

In this way our earth is protected from meteorites too. So has this order been set up for nothing? That is, did this order come about by itself?

Out of people's rebellion against Allah, their unbelief, their rebellions, they don't call this the universe, they don't call it the universe Allah created; in evolution, beings change shape. Monkeys become humans, fish become I don't know, seals, become lions, become I don't know what, endlessly evolving. That is, over time animals evolve.

I wonder, does he himself believe this? If he believes it, he's an ignoramus.

He doesn't believe it himself either. They say it just to muddle people's minds. Today — you said if he believes it he's an ignoramus — we will prove it. Today, now that we have gone down to the genes, is there a (?) that can change the gene structures of genes? I am asking this.

If there is no (?) that can change gene structures, how did those genes change by themselves? Allah Almighty, who programmed this that way, placed the seeds in those beings too, and just as He brings a person out down to his fingertips — how do these poor people change these creatures and turn them from shape to shape? And then animals become humans, humans turn into I don't know what other shapes, turning and turning. Creatures change shape in evolution, they say. Allah Almighty created 17 or 18 thousand kinds of creatures. Pay attention — I call out to those ignorant people who say we are scholars, to those who say things evolve, I call out.

When one of them is missing, the world with filter, with filth, becomes impassable. Did that creature, which knows nothing of itself, arrange the filter of this world — He made this world, with 17 or 18 thousand worlds, like the wheels of a clock, turn. Those who say these things like this are people living at the center of ignorance; they are the seeds of Abu Jahl. At the same time, by the earth's turning around its own axis, night and day come about. If we think about it, in the earth's turning around its own axis there are such millimetric calculations that, although since the moment it was created the earth has traveled 40 thousand kilometers in 24 hours, it turns neither a second less nor a second more.

Just as millimetric magnetic masses were placed at the North Pole and South Pole, by the same poles of these magnetic masses repelling each other, our earth, by the opposite poles repelling each other, our earth travels around its own axis at a speed of 40 thousand kilometers in 24 hours. This shows us Allah's power of creation through His being All-Knowing.

In the verse where He says, in the ships sailing the sea laden with things that benefit people, the meaning he said: Allah Almighty created everything with knowledge. All substances have a specific gravity. Those whose specific gravity is heavier than the specific gravity of water sink into the water.

Those whose specific gravity is lighter rise above the water. But Hodja, iron's specific gravity is heavier than water. Why doesn't it sink? Ah. As Archimedes found. As he shouted Eureka, Eureka — a body immersed in water has a buoyant force equal to the volume it displaces. It has a buoyant force as much as the volume of water it displaces. The buoyant force of water.

So ships come about. If everything were subject to the same (?) and their specific gravities were the same, neither would ships float on the sea nor would other substances, millions of substances, come about.

Allah Almighty created all beings from water. For this reason He created the seas in a way people can benefit from. When a body presses on water, with its specific gravity, by displacing as much water as the volume of the body pressing on the water, the buoyant force of water comes about. Those whose specific gravity is heavier than water also, thanks to this, by the buoyant force of the water they displace equal to their volume, by staying on the water, in transport on the seas are made use of. Right? Wrong? Right. Yes. Allah Almighty, (?) to lands, has provided people's travels and their trade, and at the same time has put the countless kinds of fish and creatures He created in the seas at people's service.

What is it? There are pearls inside mussels. Pearls, pearls.

Precious things.

Allah Almighty — where He creates what.

With things that benefit people, He says. We can't finish counting this. What doesn't benefit people? From the iron, the gold, the minerals, the soil within the earth — we're skimming over it — to its living creatures, to the birds flying in the sky, to the fish of the deep sea. We can't finish counting this. Yes. Creating man as vicegerent on earth and addressing him as His counterpart, Allah Almighty also placed what He created at man's command.

In the verse where He says, in the water Allah sends down from the sky and with which He revives the dead earth: with the waters evaporating from the streams, rivers, lakes and seas on earth forming a cloud layer in the sky, with these meeting a cold air mass, a layer, and from these clouds condensing and compressing, water droplets forming, and with this returning to the earth as rain, all beings on earth in need of water, animals and plants, come to life. The dry soil turns green with this water. So although water comes about from the union of two hydrogens and one oxygen, there are many additives in it.

There is salt, there is iodine, there are ions, there is this and that. There is, I mean. But when it becomes vapor, it really is pure water, two hydrogens and one oxygen. This is pure water. When it meets the cold air layer, with these clouds and those clouds in dense vapor form compressing, the waters begin to fall as droplets. Well, so much water comes down as droplets, and if it fell on our heads as one mass, we'd be done for. Do they never touch each other? Do these never come down to earth like water emptying from the first (?), like water emptying together from a bucket, without touching each other?

Well, isn't there wisdom in this rain pouring down like strings coming down to earth without touching each other? Isn't there knowledge? Isn't there a secret?

What did we say in our earlier lessons? The atoms of every particle, a signal that those atoms give off around their own axis. With that signal, by the plus and minus poles repelling and attracting each other, these come down to the earth without touching each other. None of them touches another. These are the sentences of our Lord's art of creation. Yes.

Now to those who change animals in evolution we give an answer here too. Allah Almighty created 17 thousand worlds, according to one report 18 thousand worlds. The reason they were created: just as the wheels of a clock complement each other and make the clock run, and when one of the teeth on those wheels is missing the clock stops working. Because it doesn't turn.

The creatures on earth, like the wheels of a clock, complement each other's balance and maintain the order of the universe.

The bee, the worm, the bird — each has a purpose of creation. Each one performs a duty. For example, once in Africa, to wipe out predatory animals, people went out hunting leopards; when the number of leopards began to fall, large-bodied monkeys that fouled everything and damaged corn fields multiplied. Monkeys.

Well, now to the one who changes animals in evolution I put the question. This is history, history not written off the top of one's head. If it happened like this, did these animals balance each other so that these worlds were created? This world keeps its balance.

Then they understood that if one kind of the created creatures decreases, the balance of the world will be upset. Today in Europe they don't touch wild animals. They don't wipe out their kind; for those about to die out, they breed them. Because each of them has a duty. Non-Muslims have grasped this very well. But out of their stubbornness, they still could not turn to Allah, who created the worlds for them.

Again, in one place, fishermen, wanting to get rid of the otters pestering their fish, go out hunting otters. When the number of otters begins to fall, they see that with sick fish multiplying in the lake the water has become polluted. Then they understand that the otters, not hunting the fish they would hunt but eating the sick fish, serve the balance of nature.

Allah Almighty, who spread all creatures across the earth, by making these creatures serve the world and nature, maintains the balance of the world.

Why are we telling these things?

Why are we telling them? So that Allah Almighty, by addressing reason, can prove His existence to every person of reason — that's why.

In His directing the winds and the clouds held ready for command between the earth and the sky there are many proofs for a people who think.

How does Allah Almighty drive the clouds, how do the clouds go? If He is to give life to a land, in that land low pressure, and where the clouds are, high pressure. What does this mean? When there is low pressure, the air layer there rises, and high pressure means, with that air layer rising, the cold air layer there rushes in to take the place of the rising air mass. It brings about the winds. Allah Almighty created the universe with knowledge, with knowledge. And by making them meet the cold air layers there, they condense them, making rain fall. So what does Allah Almighty say? The winds are the forerunners of the rains, He says.

The winds. Now, what does it resemble? Take a clay jug in your hand. Fill it with water. Your jug. That jug makes water seep outward. As the wind strikes, that seeping water turns to vapor and flies off. The oxygen in it, the oxygen, since it is cold, cools what it (?), the water inside becomes ice-cold.

Knowledge. And when the winds come with the clouds to the place of low pressure, the hydrogen and oxygen in the clouds combine, and a cold air layer also comes about. The mass cools. Because the wind is moving, you see, exactly like the jug example, a condensation comes about there. It begins. To rain. Allah Almighty created with knowledge.

Allah Almighty has programmed all these worlds; whatever will happen in the universe until the Day of Judgment is known by Allah Almighty. That's why where and how much rain will fall on earth is with Allah Almighty. Now, there are some things people cannot know what they

are. For example, how much rain will fall on a land. He knows rain will fall on a land but cannot know how much will fall.

Will a person make a profit or a loss today? He can't know this either. Where will a person die? He can't know this either. Yes, so we understand this: for every person of reason, there is a Lord who maintains the order of this universe and created it with knowledge. A Lord, that is, a Creator, exists — Allah exists. Yes, that's why where on earth and how much rain will fall is with Allah Almighty. People can forecast where rain will fall, but they can never know how much will fall. For example, it may be forecast that rain will fall today on such-and-such a land at roughly such-and-such an hour.

But they cannot forecast that this much rain will fall per square meter. So where and how much rain will fall, down to every drop of water, no one but Allah knows. With the events of low pressure and high pressure that we call weather events, with these events appearing in the places Allah Almighty wills, the air movements from high pressure to low pressure, the clouds being directed that way — using the verse held ready for command, that it is regulated by Him, He declares to us. So Allah Almighty, who with many more sciences proves His existence — for a people who think there are many proofs, He declares. If you think, of course, if you reflect.

For a person who thinks, surely all these worlds did not come together by chance and bring these sciences about. So that there is a power that created this universe, and that He, making Himself known, is the Owner and absolute Ruler of these beings, and that besides Allah Almighty there is no other god — to every person of reason, with proofs, He makes this known.
