Translation

What those, who hide the attributes of the Prophet from the Book that Allah has revealed and receive a small payment in return, eat and fill their stomachs with, is nothing but fire. On the Day of Judgment, Allah will not talk to them, nor will Allah purify them. There is only a pitiful punishment for them.

Tafsir

The Jewish rabbis had the Torah in their possession, but they concealed the qualities of the Holy Prophet in exchange for some money they had received. We are told how bad their behavior is.

Such people are the ones who think that they can humble Allah (swt) by such behavior. They are foolish people who do not recognize Allah (swt) and want to equate Him to themselves by fitting Him into their small minds. If Allah (swt) has willed something, no one can prevent it. He cannot prevent it. Those who want to prevent the verses only increase their disbelief and wrong their own souls. In one of the verses, Allah (swt) says, "If you extinguish the light of faith in one place, We will complete it in another place". In this respect, this kind of behavior of people and the food they eat with the money they have earned is fire in their bellies. Allah (swt) declares that on the Day of Resurrection, in return for the food they ate in the worldly world, there will be feasts of fire for them and they will fill their bellies with this fire. Do not engage in such behavior. Your God is only one God. Follow my commands and know that the religion in my land is the religion of Islam. He says to gather under the religion of Islam like gathering under a flag.

(On the Day of Resurrection Allah will neither speak to them nor vindicate them. There is only a painful torment for them). On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will not speak to them in the Court-i Kübra. He will not look at their faces and will not have mercy on them. In this respect, He will not exonerate them either. That is, He will not forgive them by forgiving them their sins. Such people will spend eternity in Hell and in a painful torment. Allah (swt) has given people the gift of reason. When people do not use their intellect and behave irresponsibly in this mortal world, it increases their cruelty to their souls. Those who find the life of this world amusing and cannot free themselves from this trend, who cannot get rid of the paths that their ego and the devil show them, prepare their own destruction.

What is said in the video

Nobody else here has a question; we continue our lesson. Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 174: Those who, from the book Allah sent down, conceal the description of the Prophet and take a little money for it – those, what they eat and fill their bellies with is nothing but fire. On the Day of Judgement Allah will neither speak to them nor purify them. For them there is only a painful punishment.

Here, just reading the verse and passing on, not knowing some of its secrets, won't do. Let us explain. People say: in Paradise, or in Hell, or in the Hereafter, will we see Allah? Can He be seen? Can Allah be seen? Oh, God forbid, He cannot be seen. Well, like a moon, like a sun, and so on. Look how beautifully He says it in the verse. What does He say? Allah will neither speak to them nor purify them. Pay attention to the verse, look. What does He say? Allah Almighty speaking with people.

This is not something to read and pass by. Allah Almighty will neither speak to them nor purify them. With whom? So at that Supreme Court, Allah Almighty, who is "Alaysallahu bi-ahkami'l-hakimin", the Judge of judges, in that divine presence will call everyone to account. Before falling down from the Sirat. There is no Sirat. Everyone will come to the divine presence. There they will be called to account.

What does He say? Allah will neither speak to them nor purify them. I mean, what does purifying them mean? We have removed Our attribute of mercy from them. Now they are (?) without anyone and alone, He says. Yes.

Although the description of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was written in the Torah in the hands of the Jewish rabbis, in return for a little money they received, the Prophet's description in the Torah they concealed. Allah Almighty tells us how bad such behavior of theirs is, we said. How bad it is.

They knew the Prophet (peace be upon him) as every prophet knows his son, He says. They knew him. Every prophet, from the spirit of the Prophet (peace be upon him), was created. Prophets are pure, they are clean. They are free of sin. Of sin. Allah Almighty has purified them.

Just as, when the human nafs reaches perfection, it sees the Prophet, just as, when the human nafs reaches perfection, it becomes aware of divine manifestations, so a prophet too, a prophet too, because he is pure and clean, they too will of course know the Prophet (peace be upon him) even before he came into the world and (?).

(?) Doesn't one know his father? He knows his father. Except those who died young – he's a child, his father died before he knew him. But the prophets, because they are from the spirit of the Messenger of Allah, because he is their elder and forefather, know him. Just as every prophet knows his child, his own offspring, they too knew their forefather, the Prophet, in this way. In the Torah, the rabbis – although it was written that the Prophet would come into the world and what his description was, they changed the Torah, hid it. Now we say, we say: the Torah, the Psalms and the Gospel no longer exist in their original.

Because they, with their own hands, Allah Almighty's verses have changed.

I always tell you. I explain the verses. I am not saying it from my own mind either. What does He say? "Those who, from the book Allah sent down, conceal the description of the Prophet and take a little money for it," He says. That is, those who hide them and change the verses.

As for the Gospel: when Jesus said, "Who will help Allah's religion?", forty disciples came forward: "We will, O Jesus," and they, fearing the king of that era, spread to the four corners of the world; the forty Gospels not agreeing with each other – in this case, it is proof that the truth of the Gospel, the truth of the Torah and of the Psalms too, is in the Quran.

And we say: since verses on the religion of Islam came in the Torah, the Psalms and the Gospel, the people of that time lived on the nature of Islam; and after the Quran came, although Allah Almighty sent the Quran to all the worlds as a guidance, a light, a radiance and a proof, those who turn their backs on it, saying, "We will take our rulings from the Torah, the Psalms and the Gospel in our hands," and with the human (?) in them, listen to their own ideologies and chase after those superstitions – (?) people.

These have no share in the Hereafter. Some of our poor Muslim hodjas too – and my tongue will not bring itself to call them hodjas that way – say, "They too have a religion," God protect us; we hear this. "They too have a god." Of course they do – is there a god other than Allah? But they associate partners with Allah. They do not know Allah the way Islam knows Him. They know an Allah with a wife and children. In this case, their knowing Allah does not mean they knew Allah. They cannot know Allah. Allah: la ilaha illallah. Qul huwallahu ahad, Allahu's-samad. Lam yalid wa lam yulad wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan ahad.

Because they know Allah outside this verse, there is no such Allah. There is no Allah with a wife, with family, with children.

So, although our Lord created them too, when one says "they too have an Allah", which Allah of theirs do you mean? Jesus? Mary? What does it say? "O greatest of the three, greatest of the three."

So there is no such Allah. But the One who created them too is Allah. But they cannot fully know that Allah who created them as God. As we know Him. How do we know Him? Allah, the absolute Ruler of the heavens and the earth, la ilaha illallah: there is no god but Him. He has neither family nor children.

And a being equal to His essence (?). And if you call Jesus His son, you would be creating a being close to and equal to His essence, God protect us. All these are of the nafs's feelings against Allah Almighty the (?) of rebellions. The Jewish rabbis: although the Prophet's description was written in the Torah in their hands, in return for a few coins they received, they concealed the Prophet's description in the Torah. That Allah Almighty is telling us how bad such behavior of theirs is, we said.

Such people, with such behavior, think they will render Allah Almighty helpless – such people they are.

I mean, like the Jews: Allah Almighty fed them manna and nourished them with quails. As if He were obliged to them; although He fed them, these grew spoiled, more and more spoiled. Well, they saw themselves above people, as a superhuman being. So these people thought they would make Allah Almighty do whatever they said. Even now, at the Wailing Wall, what rebellions they voice, what they say – if only you could listen: what rebellions, what nonsense, what bargaining. God protect us.

Foolish people who do not know Allah Almighty and, fitting Him into their small minds, want to hold Him equal to themselves.

If Allah Almighty has willed something, no one can stand in its way. If He has willed it. Why can't they? Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes. What does He say? When I will a thing, I only say to it "Kun", that is, "Be", He says. He creates it. Allah creates.

If He has willed it, a created being to object to it, to oppose it, to go against it – there is none. Yes.

Him no one can stop. Those who want to stop the verses are only those who wrong their own nafs by increasing their own disbelief. Yes, let's put a "le" letter here; an L is missing here.

They call it zulm.

In one verse Allah Almighty says, "If you extinguish the light of faith in one place, We will complete this light in another place."

So He decrees that, with such behavior of people, the food they eat with the money they earned is fire in their bellies. How will there be fire in their bellies? In the Hereafter, what they eat is from the Zaqqum tree, well, and its fruit is crooked and knobbly, like the head of Satan. The more you eat of this, He says, it will give a person a bitter heat; on top of it pus and water will be drunk, He says. God protect us.

May Allah protect us from such an end.

So those who changed the verses to the rabbis in line with their own interests, and those who became tools for it, just as they have no share in the Hereafter, will fill their bellies with fire. On the Day of Judgement Allah Almighty, declaring that in return for the food they ate in the world there are banquets of fire for them, and that they fill their bellies with this fire, decrees: O people, do not engage in such behavior; your God is one God; obey My commands and know that the religion with Him is the religion of Islam; as if gathering under one flag, gather under the religion of Islam.

How? As a member of a state, as a citizen of that state, and gathering under that citizen's flag, those people stand up for one another, Allah Almighty too, because He created all the people He created from His own spirit, decrees to them: gather under the flag of the religion of Islam. If you don't gather – just as whoever acts against that state's law, although he is a citizen of that state, ends up in its prison, Allah Almighty too, when He calls to account on (?) Judgement those who go against Allah's command, will send them to the places they deserve. Yes.

On the Day of Judgement Allah will neither speak to them nor purify them.

He has no state left for Allah Almighty to speak to him. He changes His verse, as if a verse came in place of Allah, and announces his own word as Allah's verse –

can there be a person who wrongs himself more than this? Is there anything left in him to speak with? For them there is only a painful punishment. On the Day of Judgement, at the Supreme Court, Allah Almighty will not speak with them. He will not look at their faces, nor will He show them mercy. So He will not purify them either. That is, He will not forgive them by pardoning their sins. Such people are in eternal Hell and in a painful punishment. Allah Almighty has given people a blessing of reason – reason. People not using their reason and acting irresponsibly in this transient world increases their wrong against their own nafs; worldly life seems entertaining to people, and those who cannot save themselves from this current, who cannot escape the paths their nafs and Satan show them, prepare themselves, their own destruction themselves.

In the Quran Allah Almighty constantly addresses man. What does He say?

Satan is your enemy. He makes it known. Never follow him. Do not fall for his temptation.

Your nafs is your enemy; never side with it either. And the world looks rosy to you, yet it is a swamp; do not sink into that swamp either, He says. Do not sink into that swamp either.

In this situation, man races to do the opposite of what Allah Almighty says. You know how they run a relay race, a relay race: one hands over to the next, the next to the next, wanting to win the contest in front – these, too, by acting outside Allah's command, race as if they would win that contest. To act outside Allah's command.

These are those who do not use their reason, whose nafs overpowers their reason, and who, carried away by this world, do not think of what comes after, who take no precautions for their future, poor people. When a person leaves his house, if he is going to his shop, he has an aim to open his shop. His customer will come, he'll take his money, he'll meet the needs of his home. He makes his plan for that day, he makes his schedule. If he has bought some goods for his home and has an instalment, the accounting of his instalments he does. His instalment isn't even due yet. If his home has some needs, earning money and buying his needs with that money he thinks of. And he draws a path for himself.

He makes a program for himself. Well then, the place you will go at the end of your life, your lifetime – its program, why don't you make it? Your most important point, the one you will need, the one that will give you life – why can you (?) it?

That is Satan, the nafs and the world pulling you toward a swamp. Even though you use your reason, even though you see ahead, the dominance of your nafs and Satan over you keeps increasing. Out of weakness of faith, he passes beyond his own self. By completely surrendering their character to Satan and their nafs, in this world you choose a life of abasement. "Hodja, I live in the world with a car, (?), let me say, with this and that." What abasement? Could there be a more abased person than you? Shall I prove it to you? After this one's and that one's wife and daughter, after this one's and that one's haram.

You have neither peace nor a single decent word coming out of your mouth. Nor do you stand manfully behind your word properly. You can't. When a call comes from somewhere, you change your voice when you speak. Or you don't answer the phone at all. Well, in this case, if you are not abased and dishonorable, what are you? Live like kings, if you like. A person will be equipped with human feelings; he will be a man of his word; in his word, everyone will say: this is a trustworthy person. Although they did not love the Prophet, even his enemies used to say: he is trustworthy. That is the character Islam gives a person: a person's human honor and dignity among people.

Yes.
