Oh you who have reasoning! In retribution, there is life for you, so that you shall abstain from crimes.
Tafsir
Allah (swt) says, addressing the people of reason, that there is life for you in retaliation. Why does He address the people of reason? People who can use their intellect cannot act nafsani. They do not deviate from the verses that Allah (swt) has shown them. Therefore, addressing the people of reason, He says that there is life for you in retaliation. Qisas removes a lot of mischief and enmity. It is a divine deterrent for the lives of those who kill and those who are killed, as the one who kills will also be killed. Allah (swt) knows what His creatures are capable of doing and what emotions people have, so He has established a law to prevent such evil acts, such killing.
There is nothing sweeter in the world than a man walking free and peaceful. Even if you float a person who fears for his life in wealth, living with the fear of death makes a person weary of life. Qisas eliminates these feelings and grants life to man. That person knows that my life is safe from people. Because if they kill me, Allah's law will kill them. So whoever kills me, the laws of Allah, where bribery and graft do not pass in the world, will destroy him and protect my right to my life. This is the Divine peace that retaliation gives to people.
(So that you may refrain from committing crimes.) In the face of this situation, every sane person does not easily commit a crime, nor does he easily turn in that direction. Because human beings are servants of Allah. All people are equal in the sight of Allah. Because there will be no injustice in the sight of Allah, when someone kills someone, he knows that he will also be killed, so some of them (the righteous) will give up the attempt to kill.
What is said in the video
It is even nicer to talk about the questions on people's agenda. O people of understanding, in retaliation there is life for you. It is hoped that you will refrain from committing crime.
Addressing the people of understanding, Allah Almighty says, in retaliation there is life for you. Why? He addresses the people of understanding. Why? People who can use their reason cannot act by their nafs. But the ignorant phase of reason, that is, its phase that has not matured, with the state in the nafs of people who are not mature, people, not taking the right path that their reason also shows, commit crimes with the feelings of the nafs; those ones do not go outside the verses Allah Almighty has shown. Who is this? The people of understanding. A person of understanding can master his nafs; the nafs does not overpower reason. That is why He addresses the people of understanding.
They do not go outside the words of the verse Allah Almighty has shown. In this respect, addressing the people of understanding, in retaliation there is life for you, He says. Retaliation removes much strife and enmity; the enmity and strife between people: oh, he said this, that one said that, he did this to him, that one did that to him, and so on, it removes all of it. What did he do? The person died, he died too, it's over. Anything further becomes backbiting, since in our religion there is backbiting. And after that Allah Almighty, in (?), says, do not speak behind your dead. Yes. Good and bad, you can't know that anymore; it's over.
Don't speak behind the dead.
Since the one who kills will also be killed, retaliation for the lives of the killer and the killed is a deterrent divine law. Since Allah Almighty knows what the servants He created can do, with what kinds of feelings people have, such evil acts, killing people, it is a law He laid down to block them. Yes, I'm giving hot tea.
As sweet as a person walking about free and at peace, in the world there is nothing.
Now, in some places people cannot go out at night. They are afraid. Either they lose their lives, or they get robbed, or something happens, I mean.
In this case, for people who live Islam, since retaliation is a deterrent, the darkness of night and the brightness of day are the same for them, because they will kill the killer; as long as a person lives, within his lifetime, without fearing people, he will live in his freedom. He will live free. What a fine law.
A very fine law.
So the laws people call civil law, which they made with their own hands, with class differences, with class differences, they arranged the laws to suit their own interests. Just as they changed Allah's verses in return for a few pennies of material gain, so that those people, so that the aghas, so that those wretched people who appear to have privilege over people, if they kill someone, let them serve a mere three or five years, or else, sir, let them settle their affairs with their own laws. What? Let them get off. In our Lord's sight, a person's rank is in Allah's sight. Otherwise people are all equal.
Look at this world, whether (?) or its parliament, whatever it may be, people have even shared out the earth equally. That is what it says in the verse. We have shared out the earth equally among you too, it says. And since He says His mercy in the universe is for everyone, in Allah's sight there is no distinction at all between people. His law is for all people. But through people's actual deeds, by their nearness to Allah Almighty and their distance, in that realm of the Hereafter one attains our Lord's mercy. Or else, moving away from our Lord's mercy, they remain without anyone and alone. That is where the distinction is.
And that is through the actual deeds one does. Yes.
So people walking about, being able to walk about, free and at peace: nothing in the world is as sweet as that. A person who fears for his life, even if you make him swim in wealth, living with the fear of death makes him weary of life.
Some people, killing people (?), people called mafias, some people I know, even in their homes go about with people protecting them. Me, what would I do with such a life? Even though my Lord sent us as vicegerents in this world He created, if I cannot live as I wish on this world, and live in the rooms of a house like a prison, in those cells, what use is that life to me? So how fine Allah's law is. If you kill the killer, you walk about free in the world like this.
Now, calling it desert law, compare it with civil law. It admits no comparison. (?) admits no comparison. Yes.
(?) retaliation removes these feelings and gives a person life. That person, that person knows, my life is safe from people. Because if they kill me, Allah's laws will kill him too. So whoever is going to kill me, Allah's laws, where bribery and favoritism don't work in this world, will destroy him too. They will protect my right, which is the price of my life. That is the divine peace that retaliation gives to people.
How nicely we have explained it here.
It is hoped that you will refrain from committing crime, Allah Almighty says. We are correcting these parts, of course.
So that, it says, you refrain from committing crime. We haven't corrected this. We are deleting this first (?) from here. Sir,
let's correct that. Because Allah Almighty knows what will happen until the Day of Judgment, this we haven't corrected.
Yes. So that you refrain from committing crime. We will look at the translation of Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 179. If it hasn't been corrected in the translation either, we will correct it there too.
Let's correct this here in that way too.
In the face of this situation, any person with reason will not easily commit a crime and will not attempt to go that way. Because people are Allah's servants; in Allah's sight all people are equal. Since there will be no injustice in Allah's sight, when someone kills someone, knowing he himself will be killed too, he gives up the attempt to kill.
