When he is told to fear Allah, his arrogance leads him to commit sins. For him, hell is sufficient and it is a bad dwelling indeed.

Tafsir

When hypocrites or those who are deprived of the light of faith are told to fear Allah, because they are enemies of Allah, because they turn away from Allah, as soon as the word Allah is mentioned, they become proud and arrogant and immediately start talking about sin. They also boast of the sins they will earn. Such people are ignorant of the future, they think that everything happens in this world, and they do not like Allah's commands and prohibitions on human beings, and they think that everything happens in this world, and they think that the hereafter, the realm of the afterlife, should be limited according to their own minds. They call these laws outdated and make laws for themselves by changing Allah's commands according to their own minds. If there is an afterlife, they have convinced themselves that they will be in paradise because they think they are very wise, and that paradise will belong to the wise, to those who have status, to those who have wealth and property, to those who are in their favor.

In this case, Satan and his nafs make them look great, and by making a class difference between people according to their own minds, they say that I am superior to people in the Hereafter. Because I have wealth and property, I am an employer or an administrator, and by deciding about himself instead of Allah, he rebels against Allah's commands and prohibitions in the realm of property. He does what Allah (swt) says not to do out of spite, and he takes disbelief as enlightenment and takes pride in it. Hell is sufficient for such people. He says (what an evil place of return).

It is not the work of wise people to stay there for eternity and suffer unbearable pain and torment, and to exchange the Hereafter for the pleasures of a few hours of worldly life. Such people work on earth to make people like themselves, compete in corrupting generations, and enjoy sowing discord among people. Hell is sufficient for such, and what an evil place of return.

What is said in the video

We continue our lesson. Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 206. That person, when (?) to fear Allah, his feeling of ego and pride drives him to commit sin. How beautifully our Lord describes people's feelings to us. Their feelings. One must judge by the beautiful verses, so as to know, of the people you are speaking with, by their manner, actions and behavior, which verse they correspond to. One must know this very well. And to be able to know this, one must be a believer. A believer. Now, a hadith. Beware of the believer's insight, he sees with the light of Allah.

Yes, thank you.

What is it? Look at the hadiths. The counterparts of the verses. Allah's sublime verse is a light. A light. We hold a light to people, a proof. What does the Prophet say? Beware of the believer's insight, that is, beware of his gaze. He sees with Allah's light. How does he see? When a person speaks the truth, those who judge by (?) and superstitions immediately change. They immediately change. And that change is, you see, the verse. What does it say? Ego and pride drive them to commit sin. Immediately a claim of ego, a pride; he sees in himself an existence, a loftiness, and immediately turns his back on the truth.

He has built his house on these comforts. That greatness keeps him from turning to the truth. Or, if his faith is weak, he follows his own reason, his nafs, and turns his back on the truth. And if he is a non-Muslim, he doesn't want to listen at all. So these states of theirs lead people into sin. How beautifully the verses put it. How beautifully the Prophet puts it, the hadiths. These are hadiths too. We don't deny the hadiths, mind you. You know how they say this man denies the hadiths. God forbid. Denying the hadith is denying the verses. Denying the hadith is denying the Prophet.

It is not listening to him. I take refuge in Allah from this, from such a fear, from such a slander. We do not deny the hadiths. To those who try to attribute to the Prophet things that are not hadith we say: these are not hadith. Do not attribute this to the Prophet. It is shameful, it is a sin. Later you will be called to account. What does the Prophet say? On the Day of Judgment he (?) will say this to Allah Almighty: O Allah, You suffice me as my witness.

You know from Your verse too that I do not speak idly. They, under the name of human words, went outside Your word and drew people in impossible directions, and patched it onto me as my word. If he says: I take refuge in You from their evil, what will you do? What answer will you give?

I fear these things. Truly, I fear.

Only those who know Me fear Me, He says.

Only those who know Me love Me. And those who know Me best love Me most, says Allah Almighty. You have not grasped the manifestations. There is not even an inspiration in your heart. A dry faith, words taught by Ahmet and Mehmet. Fine, may Allah be pleased with you. Good, you have learned your religion. You have shown loyalty. But my advice: don't put your finger on what is not your business. I don't know Arabic. Now if I tried to speak Arabic without knowing it, they would go 'tapir tipir, tapir tipir' at me. Weren't you supposed to know Arabic?

They would (?), truly. (?). And if you try to interpret the verses without knowing their meaning, they will laugh at you too. Then, beyond that laughter, you fall into sin. Well, maybe they would laugh at me, (?) because I don't know. Maybe I wouldn't sin, since I wouldn't be ascribing attributes to Allah. But you ascribe attributes to Allah through not knowing the verses. So don't put your finger on places you don't know; your knowledge, your knowledge of Arabic, is not enough to interpret the verses. Yes.

What does it say? When he is told, fear Allah, his feeling of ego and pride drives him to commit sin. Hell is enough for him, it says.

Allah Almighty. Hell is enough for him. The feeling of ego and pride. If you turn your back on the people and try to extinguish the light of Allah, then hell is enough for you. And what an evil place that hell is, it says. Allah Almighty constantly says of that hell: what an evil place of return it is, what an evil bed, what an evil place of return, what an evil place. Yes.

Now I think like this to myself. I say, let's leave the non-Muslims aside. (?). As Muslims we turned to the knowledge of our Lord.

We pursue knowledge. We memorize the Quran. We become hafiz. We learn Arabic, so that we learn our language a bit better.

Whatever we learn from one another, that is even what we say. That may be. We learn it that way. And everyone knows it that way. But those whose rank in faith is high see, among the words they learned, their contradictions with one another. So these come to a dead end.

When someone who explains the truth comes before them, they immediately solve the secret here and say: fine, it's the truth. Hodja, have you ever come across (?)? I have. I have.

I won't give names.

I won't give names.

The director of a company.

The head of the clerical office.

I went there on some business.

After chatting a little, he took an interest in us. From your talk I gather you are a hodja, he said. Yes, I said. Would you explain the Miraj to me, he said. The Miraj. Let me explain, I said. The Prophet's ascent in the Miraj, Gabriel the Trustworthy staying at Sidrat al-Muntaha, and when he (?) turned back, according to the verse that says (?), when they say Gabriel the Trustworthy, that it was in fact not Gabriel the Trustworthy, that Allah revealed to His servant, that Allah Almighty, who is entirely beyond place, revealed to His servant; when I explained this to him, (?) (?) Hodja, why did you come here? he said.

What is your business? he said. Tell me.

That was his difficulty, and it was solved. Since my business with you is with someone else, that (?) is with someone else, I am sending you to him, he said. By the time I got there he had phoned. These are theology faculty graduates. These young men, listen well, are theology faculty graduates.

He met me at the door right away. So he must have phoned him. Please come in, he said. He insisted. So then, why did you come, I said. Such and such. Fine, he said. Would you tell me about the spirits, he said. Would you tell me about the world of spirits, about the spirits, he said.

Allah Almighty first creating the light of the Prophet, then giving him of His spirit; creating man as the noblest of creatures, giving him his will and letting him program himself by his own will; Allah Almighty also creating those spirits, taking a covenant from them, raising them to the barzakh; when I explained this, he too said: Hodja, what do you want? Tell me. What do you want? We don't want (?) from anyone. We don't do any unofficial business. We even, for the road that the state would bring up to us, contributed money. We had it brought quickly with our own money. That person too said: Hodja, be patient 5-6 months, we will bring it anyway.

No, give it to me now; we paid for it by the meter, we bought it.

We should take the state's penny upon ourselves like that. I have the roads to many of my houses built myself. With my money, with our money. Yes. There are such people too. But there are also such people. Such people drive themselves to sin. When they hear the word of Allah, their pride drives them to sin. Hell is enough for him, it says. When the hypocrites, or those deprived of the light of faith, are told: fear Allah, since they are enemies of Allah, since they have turned away from Allah, as soon as the glorious word Allah is mentioned, they, seized by pride and arrogance, immediately begin to speak sin.

In this verse, the meaning at its core: those other than the non-Muslims. That is the core meaning. Because of the verse: hell is enough for him.

Those are the non-Muslims.

When it says hell is enough for him, it means owning that place. Muslims also enter hell, but hell will not be enough for them. His (?) will stand, and he too will come out. Yes. One must pay close attention to the words. As soon as the glorious word is mentioned, they, seized by pride and arrogance, immediately begin to speak sin. That is, mockingly, (?), sir, both against Allah and His Messenger they begin to hurl insults. When there is such talk, it says, leave that place immediately. But at first we will enjoin what is right. Here is the verse. What does it say? When they are told fear Allah: enjoining what is right. If they go too far, then you have done your duty; you will leave them.

For them too, it says, hell is enough. They also boast of the sins they (?). What do they say? Look, a man came and said this to me, and I said such and such to him, he says. Then it earns sin. Such people, unaware of what is to come, think everything happens and ends in this world, and the other world, called the Hereafter, (?) by their own reason; Allah's commands and prohibitions over people they do not like. Why don't they like them? Why don't they like them? Because pride, carnal feelings and so on, their own imaginings; those who say 'Lord' and yet deny Allah, these people's own aims, desires and wishes were written for them as their destiny.

Those characters were engraved into them. That is why they commit sin in this state. Yes. They (?) everything by their own reason. They do not like Allah's commands and prohibitions over people. They call these laws (?). Changing Allah's commands according to their own reason, they make laws for themselves.

Calling it today's civil law, on the laws called (?) turning their backs, people: neither to Islam's culture, nor its faith, nor to appear before our Lord, into such a state they push us. Today's laws. What's wrong with today's laws, then? What's wrong? When human rights are mentioned, start: in the religion of Islam Allah Almighty sets out human rights very beautifully. How does He set them out? A tooth for a tooth, an eye for an eye, an ear for an ear, a nose for a nose, retribution, and no one can even slap anyone. In return, it says, you will repay him with the same force. That is human rights. You get your right.

On the other hand, how much will your right be protected? That's one. Fine, these are worldly and passing; (?) look behind you. Then if you say I won't even look at these, if you say I'll turn my back on the slap and let's go, we come to the side that strikes us at the heart. It leaves us neither chastity, nor morals, nor honor. Today, outside, against Allah's command, shameless people

call it going out.

When I, as a human being, look at my own humanity, I think like this, I say: my Allah, how honorable You created us. You put all creatures at our command. You made us the vicegerents of the earth. Then we must follow a decency, manners and a law different from those creatures of Yours, so that above them we live as the noblest of creatures. Did You make this law known to us too? If You open this law up, that is, if people open it up, if they open it by forcing Your limits, and if they permit it by this law, what honor would I have left, what dignity, what chastity?

I won't go into it further. I won't go into it further.

So, Hodja, are you saying sharia should come? Sharia. What is sharia? Law. Law. In Arabic, law. This is law too. They frightened you of sharia. They frightened you. They frightened you of law. Well, don't you live by sharia? That is, don't you live by Allah's law? You do. You cherish your honor, you cherish your chastity, you cherish your dignity, your self-respect, you cherish your humanity. You cherish them. You cherish your rights and law. You have a faith. Well, this is sharia; man, you are living sharia. So why are you afraid when sharia is mentioned? Why are you afraid? Justice is there, justice.

If you judge with justice, listen well, if you judge with justice, the people who would deceive you won't be able to.

To be able to deceive you, they first took you away from the Quran. Then they drew you toward their own civilization, calling it civilization. I don't call them civilization. In fact they are uncivilized, reactionary, people of backward ages. Do you know what civilization is? Civilization is advancing in technology; as Atatürk said, to reach the level of civilized peoples. Here, when he says to reach the level of civilized peoples, the goal Atatürk showed here: back then we had no aircraft. They, with planes, from above, with nails, with bombs, at Çanakkale were pounding our soldiers and coming with great battleships.

So when he says reach the level of those civilized peoples, to bring you above the age, to that civilization, to that technology, it is a word he said to you, not the way today's people twist the words and steer them toward immorality. Pay attention everywhere.

They twist the words.

So you will advance in technology. If you can rise to the level of the people who have reached that civilized level, who today strike people with satellites, then you have advanced in civilization. When people study civilizations, pay attention,

they don't study morals. They study all the arts they produced. How far it advanced in that civilization, they judge by the arts it produced. But for us, civilization is immorality.

What people call outdated, what they call outdated and (?), stripping people stark naked, calling this civilization, and, saying they live the age, dragging people into swamps. One must know everything very well. Where are we going? Where are we going?

Yes.

So those who change Allah's laws and do not like them make laws according to their own reason.

They (?) to these laws; changing Allah's commands according to their own reason, they make laws for themselves. If there is a Hereafter, calling themselves to account by their own reason, that they are destined for paradise, because they see themselves as very clever, that paradise belongs to the clever, the people of rank, those with wealth and property, this they know, and accordingly they steer themselves. What is it? Pardon?

These are the ones who have their eyes on wealth, property, glory and fame.

Paradise will be theirs, by their reckoning.

And they make the laws to suit themselves anyway.

In that case, as Satan and his nafs make him look great, by his own reason (?), living a class difference among people, in the Hereafter too he says: I am above people. Because I have wealth and property. I am the employer or the administrator, he says. Deciding about himself in place of Allah, in the material world he lives in rebellion against Allah's commands and prohibitions. He does out of spite what Allah Almighty says not to do, and thinking unbelief is enlightenment, he takes pride in it. Allah Almighty: hell is enough for such people. What an evil place of return it is, He declares.

He said: I have wealth, property, fortune, (?); if anyone is going to paradise, it is me, he says.

So here is a verse against what these people say. What does Allah Almighty say? On that day of reckoning, when the world comes before them, if this world were theirs, and as much again were theirs, they would want to give it as ransom and be saved, it says. Allah has no need of ransom. Because He is the Creator; He creates. He has no need of ransom. (?), if you are human, be wise, use your reason, (?). In this world never step outside Allah's command, never. Ah, we are fallible; we were created fallible and lacking. Won't we step outside? We will. How? Sometimes we follow our nafs, sometimes we step outside unknowingly.

Right away: the best of you (?)

is the one who makes his mistake and immediately repents, he says. Is the one who knows his mistake and immediately repents, he says. My Allah, and my nafs is like that. And within this nafs of mine, I made a mistake. Forgive me, my Allah, he will say. Since Allah turns His servant toward His essence, that is why He created him in helplessness anyway. Fallible. If, He says, you did not commit mistakes, We would destroy you on earth and create servants who commit mistakes, He says. The meaning here is that people know their Lord as the Creator and ask Him for pardon and forgiveness. That is Allah keeping the doors of repentance open to people.

As long as man turns to Allah. Just turn. Say Allah. Yes.
