(Engage in good manners) about worldly life and about the hereafter. They ask you about orphans. Say; “It is better to care them with tender.” If you live with them together, know that they are your brothers. Allah knows who commits mischief who acts correctly. If Allah wanted, Allah surely would drive you towards hardship. Indeed, Allah is Azeez (Exalted) and Hakeem (Ultimately-Wise).

Tafsir

When people asked the Prophet (PBUH) how to deal with orphans in this world and the Hereafter, Allah (swt) revealed the following verse to guide them. Think well about this world and the Hereafter, so that you may be good for people.

Orphans are the relics of Allah to human beings. It is Allah's commandment upon those who believe to raise them in the best way. Orphans think that they have no one and they wish they had a father or a mother. It pleases them not to make them feel the absence of their parents, even to feed and clothe orphans before their own children, and to take the hearts of orphans.

Yelling and shouting at orphans is a sin in the sight of Allah. If it is necessary to sit with them, they are our brothers and sisters. In other words, Allah considers them as part of the family. If the orphan has property and the orphan's caretaker is in need, he can work the orphan's property and eat from it himself. Allah (swt) says that orphans are your brothers. Accordingly, you can combine the orphan's property with your own property to make it work and earn more. We will give an example from a verse. (Work the orphan's property so that it does not eat up the zakat.) In this respect, if people realize that orphans have been given to them as a blessing from Allah, they will try to please them as much as they can. Even if orphans do not have property, it is not right to say that they do not have property and treat them as insignificant and a burden on people. Allah provides for them more than enough. It is Allah's command to raise orphans in the best way and to reform them. Because orphans are protected by their guardians, the guardian is responsible for the upbringing of the orphan. Therefore, it is the duty of the guardian to teach him religious obligations and prepare him for life. This is the path of guidance that Allah has shown to mankind through His Verses. In this way, the guardian of the orphan who has been raised in Islam by his guardian will be forgiven of his sins by Allah (swt). Orphans are brothers in Islam with people whose religion is Islam. In this respect, Allah says that they are your brothers.

(People should value and protect the property of orphans more than their own property. It is a sin to take the property of an orphan into one's own hands or to spend it lavishly, saying, "He is an orphan, he cannot understand, this is an opportunity. Whoever commits mufsid, i.e., spends the orphan's property inappropriately, wastes it, or uses the orphan in bad ways, Allah knows this. Whoever protects the orphan's property, prepares him for life, and takes care of his education, Allah knows that too. Every human being will be rewarded for what they do.

(Allah does not wish hardship on mankind, nor does He place on man a burden that he cannot bear. In this respect, if He had willed, He would have made us suffer hardship. Even if we were in need, He would not give us the right to eat and drink from the property of orphans, but He would make us work the orphan's property and give all the earnings to the orphan. Allah (swt), Who does not will cruelty upon the worlds, shows Mercy and Compassion to both parties by allowing the needy to work the property of orphans and giving the guardian the right to eat and drink.

(Allah is the Saint and the Judge.) Allah is the Most High. Forgiving mankind, covering their sins, forgiving them, and guiding those who wish. Allah, the Compassionate and Merciful, is the Judge, the Possessor of Justice. He leaves no one's rights with anyone, no human being will be wronged in His presence.

What is said in the video

They ask you about orphans. Say: setting things right for them is better. If you live together with them, they are your brothers. Allah knows the one who corrupts from the one who sets right. Had Allah willed, He would surely have put you in hardship. There is no doubt that Allah is Mighty, Wise. Here Allah Almighty shows how merciful He is towards people. If we let ourselves be governed by such commands of Allah Almighty, we reform our nafs. A reformed nafs has reached perfection. A nafs that has reached perfection is granted the divine manifestations. A nafs granted the manifestations rises to the state of a believer, becomes a believer and attains Allah's mercy.

It becomes a most happy nafs. How beautifully our Lord tells us His verses here. What does it say now? Do good deeds concerning this world and the hereafter. They ask you about orphans. Say: setting right, setting things right for them is better. (?) Because he has no one. He looks for a door to take refuge in; if he is handed over to people who serve evil aims, they turn to evil. That is why in Ottoman times, too, (?) were opened for such children without anyone. There, in the (?), they made them useful to the state. Well, in this situation, in this age too, protecting orphans, showing them what is right, stroking their heads and backs, treating them with compassion, means attaining great rewards in Allah's sight.

When people asked how things would stand with orphans regarding their world and hereafter, asking the Prophet (peace be upon him), Allah Almighty revealed His verse to guide people. Think well about this world and the hereafter, so that you are good towards people. Yes, it says: do good deeds concerning this world and the hereafter. Both in this world, towards people, and for the hereafter, to win our Lord's pleasure. The two (?) each other. Yes. Orphans are Allah's trusts to people. They are a trust to us. We are obliged to look after them, the orphans.

If they have property, and no one to put their property to work, put their property to work. So that zakat does not eat it up, it says. Allah Almighty. So that zakat does not eat it up. If you are in need, you may eat as much as you need from the property of the orphan that you put to work, it says. Then raise that orphan until he reaches maturity and test him. If he has reached an age at which he can use his property and earn, and you see that (?) in him, in that person, hand his property over to him, it says. If not, if he is lacking in mind and unable to use his property, use his property on his behalf and look after him, it says.

Look after him. Yes. Our Lord always protects people. With His verses.

Orphans are Allah's trusts to people. Raising them in the best way is Allah's command upon those who believe. What does it say? It says it right here. To them, say: set things right for them. That is our Lord's command to us. Orphans think they have no one. They are little, of course. They cannot understand yet. And they long to have a father and a mother too. Not letting them feel the absence of their mothers and fathers; even feeding and clothing the orphans before one's own children, winning the orphans' hearts pleases them. Yes, this is what we saw from our fathers and mothers, from our elders; we knew it and we heard it. So-and-so has an orphan with him; that man, rather than his own children, (?) buys for them. Only after that does he buy for his own children.

And when they grew up, he would treat them as a father treats his child. We know these things. But now who is an orphan, who is with whom, is not known. Everyone is caught up in his own world. Why? Because people's faith has weakened; they have tied everything to this world. To this world. For them everything is the world, matter. And with the material things our Lord has given people, people boast and see themselves in a certain rank. They think themselves high. And even, to satisfy their own nafs, by showing off to those weaker than themselves, by using them under their orders, by lecturing them outright, they think themselves in very high places.

These are people weak in faith, unbecoming of Islam, who, according to the verse saying '(?) is his brother', go against these verses. So in this situation we break away and separate from one another. A time will come when the person he saw as weaker, once he grows strong, because in his own time he suffered humiliation, from that elder or from that person suffered humiliation, this time he too sets out to take revenge on others. In this way people break away from one another. They separate. Muslims fall into division. Muslims are not this. I mean, not that everything about a Muslim is like that; in my words, when I say Muslims are not this, I mean Islam is not like this.

He is a Muslim, but Islam is not like that. A Muslim shares in his Muslim brother's condition. Did the Prophet not say so too? If a Muslim cannot share a Muslim's condition, his faith has not reached perfection. Yes.

Shouting and yelling at orphans is a sin in Allah's sight. Why is it a sin? Because their hearts are broken. They fall into a (?). Into a (?), they fall into loneliness. Allah Almighty says: (?) seek Me in hearts, in those lonely hearts, the hearts that have no one, He says. At that moment his only refuge is his Lord. If you break his heart while he is in his Lord's shelter, you will have hurt Allah Almighty. So you will stroke the orphans' heads, pat their backs, and win their hearts, so that it pleases our Lord. They are a trust to you, a trust to us. If it is necessary to live together with them, they are our brothers. They are our brothers.

That is, Allah counts them as one family. If the orphan has property and the one looking after him is in need, he may put the orphan's property to work and eat from it himself too. I explained that a moment ago. Allah Almighty says: orphans are your brothers. Accordingly, he may combine the orphan's property with his own and put it to work. And make more profit. We will give an example from a verse. Again, as their turn comes, we will open up to you the verses we give as examples. Put the orphan's property to work so that zakat does not eat it up. That is what we are saying here. We had said it before anyway.

In this respect, that orphans were given to them as Allah's (?), if people could grasp it, that orphans are Allah's (?) to them, (?) he has property, you put it to work. You are now the guardian of his property, his guardian. That is, you are the one responsible for him. You will put his property to work. If you are in need, you will eat from it yourself too. A favor to you. If you are short of means and cannot set up a business, together with his you will set up a business. Well, if you go bankrupt, Allah knows, that is another matter. Allah is behind you. Do not be afraid. Because the orphan's property is in it too.

Yes. As long as you are sincere. That is, be honest. Do not be (?). Yes. Look what Allah Almighty says now in His verse. If one person becomes partners, that is, if two people become partners, the third is Me. If three become partners, the fourth is Me. If four become partners, the fifth is Me. If five become partners, the sixth is Me. In short. I am counting up to six. In short: however many people become partners, one more is Me. But if deceit enters among them, I leave their partnership, He says. Their partner becomes Satan. And today I watch these things, set against the verses. People, as partners, bond with one another sincerely.

They open a shop. You see that the shop really does well. Because our Lord is a partner too. After that: 'Well, this man had the money, but I am the one doing the work,' he says. 'I had no money, but let me open a shop on my own,' he says. 'I'll open a shop and earn by myself.' Why does my Lord give? You see the shop begin to fall apart. Business begins to fall apart. So whenever you enter a partnership, your partner is Allah; never be afraid. As long as you are honest. Be honest. Yes.

In this respect, that orphans were given to them as Allah's (?), if people could grasp it, they would try, as far as they can, to please them, as far as they can. Even if orphans have no property, they must not, because they have no property, be seen as lowly and as a burden on people. Because, we say, you protect that orphan, and Allah Almighty will give you his provision in abundance. Know this. He will give it in abundance. Why? Because you are carrying out your Lord's command. And you will even be protected from accidents, troubles and disasters to come. Because you have taken in someone who is under your Lord's protection.

You took him in. Well, you are raising him. You look after him for Allah's sake. If only you could know its virtue. So never look down on orphans, do not scold them, do not say bad words to them, and always keep them happy. Allah gives their provision to people in abundance. Raising and reforming orphans in the best way is Allah's command. Because the orphan is protected by his guardian, the guardian is responsible for him. So teaching him the religious duties and preparing him for life is his guardian's duty. And teaching him the religious duties just like his own child. It is the path of guidance that Allah shows people with His verses.

This, this path of guidance. This is the way to attain Allah's mercy. An orphan thus (?) as a Muslim by someone is, with the people within the religion of Islam, a brother in Islam. That is why Allah Almighty says: they are your brothers.

Allah knows the one who corrupts from the one who sets right. People must value the orphans' property more than their own and protect it. Saying 'he is an orphan, he cannot understand, now is the chance', and taking the orphan's property for oneself or squandering it is a sin.

Whoever acts corruptly, that is, spends the orphan's property carelessly, wastes it, or uses the orphan in bad ways, Allah knows it.

There is not a single living being to come until the Last Day whose deeds We do not know, He says. So since our Lord knows it, what will you know? 'I am being tested with this.' He will say to himself: 'O so-and-so, never overstep the limit. Follow your Lord's commands so that you pass this test.' Now if he protects the orphan's property, prepares him for life, and takes care of his education, Allah knows that too. Every person surely receives the return for what he does.

Yes.

Had Allah willed, He would surely have put you in hardship. We are opening up the rest of the verse part by part. Yes. Allah never wills hardship for people. Had He willed, He would have put them in hardship. Do this like this, do that like that. Even if you are in need, He would say, you cannot eat (?), (?) you cannot eat, and you must give it to him. Plus He would put you in hardship. You are obliged to put his property to work. Plus He would put you in hardship. 'Why did you do business to his loss, why did you take on that business?' He would say. That is, Allah opens all the doors of mercy to us.

Just as He protects every orphan, just as the orphan is His servant, (?), His servant, He protects him too. This is Allah's great mercy.

Allah does not will hardship for people. And He does not load on a person's back a burden he cannot bear. What do we say? These are the verses here. We do not load on your back a burden you cannot bear, He says. In this respect, had He willed, He would have driven us into hardship. If we were in need, He would not grant us the right to eat and drink from the orphans' property; He would have us put the orphan's property to work and give all the profit to the orphan. Yes. Allah Almighty, who wills no injustice to the worlds, by having those in need put the orphans' property to work and granting the guardian the right to eat and drink, shows mercy and compassion to both sides.

Our Lord's grace. Allah is Mighty and Wise. Allah is very exalted, forgiving to people, covering their sins, pardoning them, and guiding the people who wish. What does it say? So Allah is Mighty and Wise. You cannot find injustice in Him. If there seems to be injustice in what is done, it is the person who, because of people's own shortcomings, their own selfish slumber, the deficiency of their mind, cannot see the deficiency in himself and ascribes the deficiency to Allah Almighty. Whereas our Lord is the Judge of judges. He never does injustice among His creatures. Yes. We say Allah is Just and Wise.

Allah is very exalted. He forgives people, covers their sins; how so? With His attribute Settar He covers their sins. With His attribute Ghaffar He forgives. Well, He pardons them and guides the people who wish. Allah, who is compassionate and merciful, is the Judge; He is the possessor of justice. He leaves no one's right with anyone. No person suffers injustice in His presence. Never. What does He say about the Great Court? Today, with no one wronged, everyone for what his two hands have earned will be called to account; it is such a day, He says. Allah Allah. What great justice. What a great Judge.

Flawless. My Lord (?) grace. Yes.
