Translation

(Before getting married again), divorced women have to wait for three menstrual periods by themselves. If they really believe in Allah and the hereafter, it is not permissible for them to hide what Allah has created in their wombs. If their men desire to reconcile, they have a better right to take back their wives whom they had divorced. As men have rights over women, women also have certain rights over men. However, men have a degree over them. Allah is Azeez (Exalted), Hakeem (Ultimately-Wise).

Tafsir

Divorced women have to wait three months before they marry someone else. During this time it becomes clear whether she is pregnant or not. If a woman knows that she is pregnant and hides the child in her womb so that she does not miss the man she is going to marry, she is a sinner.

The reason for her sinfulness is that she got married while she was pregnant and her husband knew that the child was his, and because of his work he moved to another town with his children. The child grew up there, and when he met his brother whom he did not know because of work or travel, they loved each other and got married, which is the same as two brothers marrying each other. We will elaborate on this in the following verses. Therefore, in order to eliminate such incidents, Allah says, "Do not marry until the woman's pregnancy is confirmed and the child's parentage is known, so that you may not be the cause of such evil and ugly deeds, if you fear Me, if you really believe in the Hereafter.

If their husbands want to take them back, and there are other suitors for the woman, the husband is the one who has the most rights.

(Men have rights over women and women have rights over men). The rights of men over women are to take care of their children, to be a wife to the man, to protect the man's property, to protect the honor and dignity of the man, and to prepare his food and laundry.

A woman's right over a man is to provide for his livelihood, to buy his clothes, to be there for him in times of illness and hardship, to treat him and relieve his distress.

(But men have a degree of superiority over women.) This is because Allah has created the man superior to the woman and therefore he is the head of the family. Also, the man has a superiority over his wife in that he has the right to provide for her from what he earns from his work and gives his labor to her.

(Allah is the Saint, the Judge.) Allah is the Owner of Glory and He judges between His servants with justice. Allah does not do injustice among His creatures. That is why He says that what you earn is the reward of your own two hands. He holds each soul to account for what it has earned. Allah is the Most High, He is the Saint.

What is said in the video

To verse 228: these are our religious, sharia rulings. Divorced women wait on their own, without marrying, three menstrual periods. Three months. Why do they wait? If before three months she goes to a husband, the child; if there is a child in the mother's womb too, that child's father will not be known. Hodja, people are born at nine months, but from that woman they also give birth at seven months. That is why our Lord has set three months, what a fine law. They wait three months. If they truly believe in Allah and the Last Day, to hide what Allah has created in their wombs is not lawful for them.

How well it puts it. The woman knows what it is. But she married. Without waiting three months, a match came along and she married. and the man, perceiving that she had no child, sir, took her. And she hid what was in her womb. To declare what is in her womb as the man's own child, the second, that is, as the child of the man she married after the divorce, is not lawful for the woman. What happens? If that woman's child, sir, with the other man's child, the child of the man she first divorced, marries, a sibling will have married a sibling. And she will also have deceived her man. Yes. To him, while that man's children, from the man's own children, are lawful, you will have made that forbidden too.

Because she will have declared them as siblings. Many drawbacks. Yes. If their husbands want to reconcile, then they have more right to take back the women they divorced. Now a woman's husband divorced her. Divorced her. Then the woman is going to go to another husband. And her first husband set out to take her back. That man has the right first. Over this. He has the right over this woman. But if the woman absolutely says "I won't marry him", according to this verse, what does it say? Do not keep your women under your marriage by force, it says. So if her first husband sets out to take the woman back, and the woman too, because they have children, wants to return to her first husband, the first husband has the right over her.

men have certain rights over women.

Just as men have rights over women, women also have certain rights over men. However, men have a degree of superiority over women. Allah is Mighty, Wise. What is this degree of superiority men hold over women? According to His verse that says men are (?) and in charge over women, since He created men complete and woman deficient, His making women obedient to their men, the bonds of love in the family, and removing unrest and strife in that family: that our Lord establishes such a fine order He shows us. If woman had been created with a complete self like man, two roosters can't live on one dunghill, they say.

Yes.

When divorced women are going to marry someone else, they must wait three monthly periods. Within this time it becomes clear whether the woman is pregnant. The woman knows that she is pregnant. If, so as not to lose the man she will marry, she hides the child in her womb, she becomes sinful. Yes. How well our Lord holds a light before people. The reason the woman is sinful is that the woman, while pregnant, married, and her husband believed this child to be his, and for work he moved with the children to another town. There the child grew up. When he too, for work or because of travel, meets his sibling whom he does not know, and they love each other and marry, a situation of two siblings marrying each other arises.

We will explain these in later verses. Therefore, to remove such events, Allah says definitively: until the woman's pregnancy comes to light, until it is clear whose the child is, do not marry. Yes. By saying "if you truly believe in the Last Day": do not be the cause of such bad and ugly deeds. If you fear Me, (?). So a person, a person must fear Allah; for worldly livelihood, sir, or for her own benefit, if she hides the child in her womb and pins it on someone else, many drawbacks arise. If their husbands want to take them back, that is, before she marries, if their husbands first want to take them back, and others also seek the woman, the one with the most right is her husband.

Among these suitors he has the right. And the woman, to her husband who holds this right, even if she wants the other side, should relatively submit. Why? Because she also has children from him. Perhaps his child is also hidden in her womb. In this case the one with the right is her husband. But as I said just now, if the woman says to the man she will marry, "(?) there is a child in the womb." She knows. How does she know it? By her menstrual state she knows. Her periods have stopped; when there is a child she knows she is pregnant. And the man says "I accept". Say the second husband who will take her says, "I accept you in that state of yours", and the woman does not return to her second, first husband: within her own freedom, definitely within her own will, the ability to decide Allah Almighty has already given to the woman.

What does it say? Do not keep your women under your marriage by force. According to this verse, the woman, within her own freedom and will, gives her judgment.

If their husbands want to take them back, even if others seek the woman, the one with the most right is her husband, we said. And we have now explained this. Just as men have a right over women, women too have a right over men. Men's right over women is to look after their children. To be a wife to the man. To protect the man's property. And not to harm the man's honour and dignity. Preparing his food and laundry, such are her duties. She has duties like not squandering the man's property, not wasting. The woman's right over the man is that the man provide the livelihood, provide the woman's livelihood, buy her clothes, and in illness and hard times be by his wife's side, seeing to her treatment and relieving her distress.

However, men have a degree of superiority over women, it says in the verse; the reason for this is that Allah Almighty created man superior to woman, and hence he is the head of the family. That is, the decision is the man's. Yes. Also, because the man provides his wife's livelihood from what he works and earns and gives her his labour, since his right is over his wife, he has a superiority. What does he do? The man works, feeds his wife, gives her drink. In this case he has one more superiority over her. Allah is Mighty and Wise.

Allah Almighty is the possessor of might, and among His servants with justice He decides, our Lord. Allah Almighty never does injustice among those He has created. Whether idolater, Magian, religious or irreligious. He judges with justice everyone who lives in this world. What does He say? My mercy has surpassed My wrath. In this world My mercy is for everyone, in the Hereafter only for the believer. Yes, it is for this reason that He says: what you earn is the return for your own hands. He brings every soul to account for what it has earned. Allah is the Highest of the high, He is Mighty, our Lord.
