Translation

When you divorce women and they are close to finishing their menstrual period, either keep them with goodness or let them go (divorce them) with goodness but do not keep them to their disadvantage to violate their rights. Whoever does this has committed oppression against himself. Do not take Allah’s verses as a joke. Contemplate about the blessings of Allah over you, about the Qur’an which Allah has sent down to give you advice and the wisdom it contains. Fear Allah and know that Allah knows everything (to the fullest).

Tafsir

People resort to divorce because of family discord. If any of you wants to divorce your wives, either reconcile or divorce them with kindness within a period of time close to the expiry of the three periods of iddat. Do not oppress your wives for the benefit of the world by violating the way shown by Allah (swt). (Do not violate their rights to their detriment.) Do not divorce them and at the same time usurp their property and possessions. Or do not keep women under your oppression in order to use that wealth and property.

O people! Know that Allah, the Owner of all creation, does not want anyone to oppress anyone unjustly. Whoever oppresses a person unjustly, know that Allah, the Owner of the Worlds, will not leave the right of the oppressed to the oppressor. Those who engage in these bad behaviors are the people who oppress their own souls. Such people are weak in faith, preferring the Hereafter to the world, living in the world and ignoring the Hereafter, and being cruel to their own souls.

(Do not take the Verses of Allah as a joke.) People who are weak in faith, even if they are Muslims and do not compromise on Tawheed, are in doubt about the existence of the Hereafter. Such people are guided by their ego and think of nothing but their own interests. Therefore, they do not want to understand the Verses of Allah (swt) and they work only for this world and strive to satisfy their nafs desires. Allah (swt) warns people who are in this situation, saying, "Do not take the Verses of Allah as a joke.

(Think of Allah's blessing upon you and the Qur'an which He has sent down to give you advice and the wisdom in it). O people! Do you not think of Allah's blessings upon us? Are not wealth, property, children and good health, as well as being blessed with the light of Islam, and Allah (swt) making His existence known by sending clear Verses, and bestowing the blessings of the Hereafter on those who know their Lord, the greatest of blessings? He says: "Think about the Qur'an and the wisdom in it, which He has sent down to prove His existence, to remind people of His blessings, and to give you advice. Humans were created in need of learning and intellectual development. Allah (swt), the greatest teacher, the teacher of teachers, the creator of the worlds, has made the Qur'an available for people to learn, guided them, enlightened their paths and tried to prove His existence by making people contemplate the Qur'an and its wisdom.

The Holy Quran is a book full of miracles. It is noteworthy that Allah (swt) declares the existence of His Essence in each of His Verses and shows a path to human beings with the same Verses. This is how He continues all His verses.

That the verses in the Qur'an are addressed to the ages past, present and future, and that when the secrets and sciences in the verses are found, the miracles of these secrets will be revealed.

The verses are engraved in people's hearts as they are recited, and they guide people in the right path within the capacity of every intellect, and they prove the existence of His Essence publicly, and they encourage people to think, and they inform people to submit to Allah through contemplation, and to trust in Allah, who wants the good of people, and who knows what people do not know about people, with His verses.

(Allah knows everything in its fullness.) Because Allah has created the universe. He is not separate from His creation. Allah, who will come until the Day of Resurrection and who knows where and what those who will come will do, informs us that He is aware of everything, that He is the owner of all things, and that there is no other God but Him.

What is said in the video

Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 231. When you divorce women and they are near the end of their waiting period, either keep them in kindness or release them in kindness. Do not keep them to harm them, to violate their rights. Whoever does this has wronged his own self. Do not take Allah's verses as a joke. Remember Allah's favor upon you and the Quran He sent down to admonish you, and the wisdom in it. Yes, fear Allah and know that Allah knows everything perfectly. Now, when we divorce women and they are near the end of their waiting period, either keep them in kindness or release them in kindness. That is, if you are divorcing her for the first time, either keep her in kindness or divorce in kindness. Do not keep her, the woman, for her property, holding her with you and bringing her to ruin, to harm, He says. People, because of family discord, resort to divorce.

If one of you wants to divorce your wives, when the three waiting periods are near their end, either make peace or release them in kindness, He says.

Yes, trampling the path Allah Almighty has shown, do not wrong your wives for worldly gain. Do not wrong them. Do not keep them to their harm, violating their rights. That is, the woman has property. I try to keep the woman forcibly under my marriage so as to use that property. And I wrong her too. I don't stop at that either. If I bring another wife on top of her, I will have overstepped Allah's laws. May Allah protect us. Allah Almighty is not telling you: Do not marry. He has granted a right here. But within Allah's laws. What are Allah's laws? Not by wronging women. By protecting their rights.

Yes. Do not keep them to their harm, violating their rights. Do not both divorce the women and seize their property. May Allah protect us. Or do not keep women under your pressure in order to use that property, He says.

O people! Know that Allah, the Owner of all that exists, does not want anyone to torment anyone unjustly. Anyone. Because He is Eleysallahu bi-ahkemi'l-hakimin. Allah, the Judge of judges. He does not want any human — never mind humans, any living being He created — to wrong one another. Whoever torments a person unjustly, let him know that Allah Almighty, the Owner of the worlds, with His attribute (?), does not leave the right of the wronged with the wrongdoer. How beautiful. He exacts it from him both in this world and in the hereafter. Those who are in such bad behavior are people who wrong their own selves. Such people are weak in faith, who prefer the world over the hereafter, who live their world and turn a deaf ear to their hereafter, people who commit injustice against their own selves.

Yes.

Do not take Allah's verses as a joke. Allah Almighty said it. Well, what if I do it this way anyway? Don't you do that, He says. Because just as a person with his character is faithful to the word he gives, if he shows that character of his, and with that word he has made himself known to people as trustworthy, and for faithfulness to his word he will do everything except die, will fulfill it — then Allah, the Owner of the worlds: His word never falls to the ground. What does Allah Almighty say? Who is more faithful to his word than Allah? Yes. Who is more faithful to his word than Allah? No one can be.

No matter how hard he tries. Why can he not? Because Allah Almighty knows what the living beings to come until the Day of Resurrection will do. (?) He knows what each will do. That is why He does not speak short of the mark. He speaks accordingly. He speaks within the program. We, however, (?) do not know what we will do later. That is why we speak according to our own minds. Either, as far as our mind goes, we are faithful to our word, or, as a result of events, we cannot keep the word we gave. And in this respect no one can be as faithful to his word as Allah. But we strive. Except for what will befall us within the unseen (?).

So in this case, never take lightly the word of your Lord, who is so faithful to His word and never lets His word fall. Yes. Or do not belittle it. People weak in faith, even if they are Muslims and make no concession on tawhid, that is, there is no god but Allah, even if they make no concession at all, are in doubt and in suspicion about the existence of the hereafter. Because their selves have not found peace. Such people act on the path their self shows and think of nothing but their own interest. For this reason they do not want to understand Allah Almighty's verses, and those people work only for this world and strive to satisfy their selfish desires.

Allah Almighty warns people in this state. Allah Almighty warns the people in this state. Do not take Allah's verses as a joke, He says. Yes.

Remember Allah's favor upon you and the Quran He sent down to admonish you and the wisdom in it. Our Lord's favor upon us. What is it? That He created us as the noblest of creatures.

That He made us vicegerent on earth. That He placed all beings at people's command, created man as the most beautiful of His creations, and guaranteed the provision of all He created, and gave him health, well-being and a life: these are favors. We cannot finish counting Allah's favors. Remember His favor upon you, He says. Yes, His addressing us Himself is a favor to begin with. A great favor. Yes.

O people! Do you not think about Allah's favors upon us? Wealth, property, children and good health. Besides these, being honored with the light of Islam, and Allah Almighty, by sending clear verses, making His existence known as if outwardly seen, and granting the blessings of the hereafter to those who know their Lord — is this not the greatest of favors? Yes.

To whom has He promised these? Allah Almighty. Other than man. Whom has He addressed with His word? Allah Almighty. Other than man.

Humans and jinn. There are jinn too. (?) But they too have their lofty and their lowly ones. But here the noblest of creatures are humans. And although the Quran came to people, sir, the jinn are included in it too. But again we stress this point: since the spirit is only in man, man is the noblest of all created beings.

So proving His existence and reminding people of His favors, He says: think about the Quran He sent down to admonish you and the wisdom in it. What are the wisdoms in the Quran? As we just listed, its greatest wisdom is to think that the Quran is the word of none other than Allah, and that one day we will return to Allah, the absolute Owner of the worlds.

People were created (?) to learn and to develop intellectually. To learn and to develop intellectually. Because when we are born into the world as children and begin to develop, we start from zero. We will learn things according to our characters so as to apply them.

So the greatest teacher, the teacher of teachers, Allah Almighty, who created the worlds, with His eternal word has offered the Noble Quran for people to learn, has guided them, lit their paths, and to prove His existence openly has sought to make known the Quran and the wisdom in it by making people reflect on it. Who? Our Lord. With what? With His books, His prophets, His scholars, Allah Almighty tries to teach people what they do not know. So that tomorrow, about this lost world, in this world of possession we have come to, in their living, they do not say to our Lord: You sent me to a lost world, I could not know Your existence there; had You made Yourself or Your commands known to me, I would have worshipped You well — for that He is the teacher of teachers.

And with His books, His prophets, His scholars, Allah Almighty holds a light before people.

Yes.

In this verse we continue. The Noble Quran is a book full of miracles. The Noble Quran. If you pay attention, with every verse Allah Almighty makes His existence known and with the same verses shows people a way. He continues all His verses like this. Whatever verse's words you look at, in every verse Allah states His existence and shows man a way, in every verse. Look, here is the Noble Quran. Let us open it here and look. Now what does it say? Say Surah Al-Isra, verse 60 came up before us. Recall when We told you: your Lord has encompassed people on all sides. Look. Allah Almighty states Himself and shows people a way.

The visions We showed you and the tree cursed in the Quran We brought about only to test people. We frighten them, but it only increases them in great transgression. He both shows a way and sends people to reflection, and to their Lord, that besides Him there is no god. Let us open here. Another page. Surah Sad came up. Verse 43. And as a mercy from Us, and as a lesson for those with mature minds, We granted him his family and with them the like of them. Well, there is no need to read this. Try it yourselves. In every verse Allah Almighty states His existence. A miracle. And He also shows people a way.

And since the wet and the dry are in the Quran, the secrets of creation are also in it. This belongs to Allah alone. The keys of the unseen are in Allah's hand. Moreover, He sets before people's eyes the miracles that took place in the time of the prophets. Like what? In every age Allah Almighty shows people miracles through verses. Captain Cousteau shouting that he had found that at the Strait of Gibraltar fresh and salt water do not mix, whereas this is present in the Noble Quran — so Allah Almighty brought about a miracle in this way. Doctor Darwin saying that the people of the Sabbath turned into apes and that man comes from the ape — with that the verse in the Noble Quran is proven.

But since every soul acts according to its own thinking, they, by proving that they come from animals, try to trust in their ancestors, the apes. Whereas Allah Almighty — (?) — a community of people from the nation of (?), because they went against His commands, in that fishing — fishing at sea being forbidden on that day — by making breakwaters, so they could fish on the other days, because they (?), sir, their forms He changes into apes. These are each a miracle. Each a miracle.

Yes.

The verses in the Quran addressing (?) past and future ages, and the secrets in the verses — when the sciences are found, the miracles of these secrets come to light.

Together with the sciences, the miracles in the verses come to light. As the verses are read, they engrave themselves on people's hearts, and within every mind's capacity they guide the person to the right path, and by openly proving His existence they lead people to think, so that people through reflection submit to Allah, and concerning people, what people hear — that one should trust in Allah, who wants people's good: this He makes known with His verses. Because there is no one to trust other than Allah. Our assurance is Allah. Why Allah? If you trust a person, he dies. If you lean on a tree, it falls. Who is the owner of them all?

Allah. So we will trust in Allah. Yes. As a precaution. Maybe Ahmet or Mehmet was a good person. Trustworthy. Of course we will trust. He is our brother in Islam. But there must be a difference between trusting him and trusting Allah. Like what? There will be a difference. You trust someone saying: he is human, that's clear. If he is human he makes mistakes; you accept him with his mistakes. But since our Lord is free from all deficient attributes and far from mistakes, only by keeping to what He says, that is, His promise, can you believe you will rely on your Lord's mercy upon you. So we will trust in Allah.

We will lean on Allah. We will ask from Allah. What do we say? Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal-wakil, ni'mal-mawla wa ni'man-nasir, Ghufranaka Rabbana wa ilaykal-masir. He is such a good Master, such a good support and such a good friend, He says, companion. Yes. Why friend, companion? What does He say? Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.

Even if all people turn their backs on you and you are left alone, say: Allah, Owner of the great Throne of the heavens and the earth, suffices me, He says. So whoever is a companion of his Lord through His manifestations in his heart needs no other companion. The person who is with the Owner of the worlds keeps the worlds alive in his own heart. Yes. Allah knows everything perfectly, He says. Perfectly. Because Allah created the universe. He created it. As the Creator He knows everything. The secret of creation also belongs to Allah alone. And He created His creatures within a program. For this reason Allah knows everything perfectly.

He is not separate from His creatures either. Moreover. When we say why is He not separate: there are so many worlds, seven layers of heavens, and how is He together with those created here?

Very simple. Very simple. All creatures were created with a knowledge. Today migratory birds find their way by the magnetism of the waves of the south or north pole. Their way. Whales in the sea can talk to each other across thousands of miles.

And since Allah Almighty did not create a single particle He created outside His rule, since He created it within His rule, and since all particles in this universe are within His rule, He says He has power over everything. When He says He is the Knower of all things, the neutrons and protons in those particles, within those nuclei, in those nuclei neutrons and protons, those plus and electronic nuclei. Turning around their own axes gives off a signal, and that signal is programmed to Allah Almighty. In this case the whole universe, with a program in itself, just as when you call someone by phone, the base stations receiving and transmitting that phone's signal and people talking — all these particles are programmed to Allah Almighty.

Yes. That is why, what does He say now? He knows everything perfectly. What is perfectly? He knows from each particle according to its wish and desire. Allah Almighty also knows. Allah, who knows those to come until the Day of Resurrection and where they will do what, makes known to us in due measure that He is aware of everything, that He is the Owner of all beings, and that there is no god besides Him. Yes.
