Al-Baqarah 237: If you divorce the women whom you have married by specifying and giving a mahr without touching them, half of the mahr you have specified is theirs. But if the woman or the person holding the marriage in his hand (the custodian) waives this right, it is closer to taqwa (the state of abstaining from sins). Do not forget about (committing) goodness among yourselves. Verily, Allah truly sees what you are doing.

If you divorce the women whom you have married by specifying and giving a mahr without touching them, half of the mahr you have specified is theirs. But if the woman or the person holding the marriage in his hand (the custodian) waives this right, it is closer to taqwa (the state of abstaining from sins). Do not forget about (committing) goodness among yourselves. Verily, Allah truly sees what you are doing.
Tafsir
If a man has agreed on a woman's mahr when he marries her, and he divorces her without touching her, half of the agreed mahr is given to her as her marital right. If the woman does not ask for the mahr that is due to her, or if her guardian, who holds the marriage bond, renounces his right to the mahr that is due to him, then he is allowed to give it, except in this case.
Piety is very important in the sight of Allah. Allah (swt) says to the owners of piety that in such a case, it is better for you to give up the right to the mahr. In this case, Allah (swt) warns us not to forget the goodness and kindness between you. Those who are Muslims are each other's brothers. It is not befitting for brothers to oppress each other for the worldly goods or to create resentment and enmity between them. In this respect, if you give to others out of your own interests, you will win their hearts and live in peace.
Surely Allah (swt) knows what people do among themselves, what they do, how they do it and why they do it, and what their intentions are. Wherever we are, Allah (swt) sees us and is aware of what we do, and we are rewarded accordingly with rewards and sins.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 237, the noble verse. Yes. The women for whom you fixed a mahr and whom you married, those women, if you divorce them before touching them, half of the mahr you fixed is theirs. In the previous verse it says the same anyway. Unless the women forgo it, or the guardian in whose hand the marriage tie is forgoes it. Your forgiving, your forgoing the mahr, is a better (?) for taqwa, says our Lord. Yes. Do not forget kindness and generosity among you. Surely Allah fully sees what you do, it says.
Now we fixed a mahr. Yes.
What did we say? I will give you 50,000 lira.
We divorced them. Without contact. In the verse just before, it says give her half. Half. Half is hers, it says. In this verse, if the woman or her guardian say: we do not want the mahr you gave, because you did not come together and meet; this is your right, they say to the man, and give this mahr back to the man, this is closer to taqwa, it says. That is, it is more in keeping with acting justly. Yes. If a man, when marrying, fixed a mahr for a woman and married her to himself, and divorces the woman he is to marry without touching her, half of the agreed mahr is given to the woman as her marriage right.
In the verse above, when this mahr is given, if the woman does not want the mahr due to her by right, or her guardian who holds the marriage tie forgoes the mahr given to them, this case is the exception; the person may not give the mahr. Then it is over.
In Allah's religion taqwa is very important. Taqwa, in Allah's religion taqwa. What does taqwa mean? To flee from (?). Examining everything for Allah, being careful about halal and haram.
Allah Almighty, addressing the people of taqwa: in such a case, forgoing the mahr right is better for you. Why? Because these did not come together. If I protect the woman, says Allah Almighty, if I protect the woman and, regarding the mahr, have her given half, this is because of her pinning her hopes on him for union with him; but if you say: this man never came together with me anyway. His hand never even touched mine. Yes, we married, but we never once came near each other. In that case I have no right over him, and you give the mahr, it is more fitting for taqwa, it says. More fitting for taqwa.
Thus in this case forgoing the mahr right is better for you. In this case, do not forget kindness and generosity between them, Allah Almighty warns. That is, what does the man say? I never came together with her. Yes, I had a (?), I married. But now I paid this much money. My Lord said yes, give, and I gave, he says. And his mind gets stuck on it. But if the woman or her guardian returns the money to him, in terms of taqwa the man is put to shame. What good people, my child. Look, although it was her right, although our Lord (?), they returned this. Well, let me find them a gift too, he says. Hearts are mutual. Then this (?) comes about.
Let me buy them a gift too. Let me win their hearts in a beautiful way, he says. This is mut'a. They gave him a gift. He gives them a gift. What does the Prophet say? In the hadith too: give each other gifts. A gift increases sincerity, he says. Yes. Those who are Muslim are each other's brothers. For brothers to torment each other among themselves for worldly goods or to cause resentment and enmity among themselves does not befit brothers. So if you, with your own interests, towards those in front of you show (?), you win their hearts and live in peace, says Allah Almighty. Yes.
Surely, the deeds people carry out among themselves, what they do, how and why, what people's intentions are, Allah Almighty knows. Wherever we are, Allah Almighty sees and knows us. Yes.
