Al-Baqarah 242: Allah explains Allah’s verses this way so that you can think and understand the truth.

Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 242 is where we left off. Thus Allah explains the verses to you so that you may reflect and understand the truth, our Lord says in His verse.

In verse 242,

with this verse Allah Almighty invites us to contemplation. He invites us to think, and what does the verse say?

Allah Almighty: do you never use your minds? Do you never contemplate? He says. Since Allah Almighty created human (?) lacking, our people, or we, cannot know everything fully (?). Then we get stuck in dead ends. And Allah Almighty holds a light before us with His verses. He lights our way with His laws, and as long as we abide by the laws of our Lord who created us, we always attain salvation and peace. Yes. What does it say? Let's move on to the commentary of the verse. Allah Almighty, who created us lacking, truly lacking, by (?) us with the verse, explains His verses openly, makes known, so that they reflect and find the truth.

That they not wrong anyone. That they not toy with anyone's life. That they not wrong their own selves by earning sin. After which verses does Allah Almighty say this? After stating women's rights. After giving them many rights, giving women many rights, after protecting them, what does He say? Thus, says Allah Almighty, He explains the verses to you so that you may reflect and understand the truth. Allah Almighty, inviting us to contemplation, commands us to think. His sending all the heavenly religions according to the time and always guiding all people, and, as the universe turns and revolves, informing us of the states of the people who have passed over the earth, helping them or destroying the rebellious, is His clearly revealing to us that His Essence is everlasting and true.

Yes. In this situation, our people, that is, Muslims honoured with the religion of Islam, if today they fall into crises, into (?) dead ends, then, because they go against Allah's verses, because they do not obey the verses, they are dragged into crises.

They try to solve everything with their own minds. Yes, we will use our minds. But we will also consult about what we don't know. Allah Almighty says: consult with one another. In consultation there is life. What is consultation? On a thing, a subject, exchanging opinions on a subject. I'm going to do this like this, but for such and such reasons I see it being this way. What do you say? That person too, after gaining knowledge about the work to be done, gives his own opinion. Everyone puts forward an opinion. I have gained a lot from this consultation. For example, I'm doing some work, I tell about it.

But I think about it for months. I say: it's like this. As I think, it develops; as I think, it develops. It gets on a certain track. A certain track. We consult. We ask everyone's opinion. We see that it's roughly close to what we said, (?) that is. (?). What he says, what those people (?), what I'll do is better. I see that here. Plus, when I exchange opinions with them, my own idea develops even more. The parts I saw as lacking are completed. And so the project is completed. That's why Allah Almighty says: consult. The Prophet (peace be upon him) too constantly consulted with his companions. Indeed, in the Battle of the Trench, the Trench (?) what shall we do, asks the Prophet (peace be upon him).

And Salman al-Farisi says: O Messenger of Allah. He was very old and had lived very many years; in one narration he was 500 years old then. O Messenger of Allah, I say, he said, let's dig a trench. I'm thinking the same thing, says the Prophet. Dig a trench, he says, and they dig a trench around Medina. After a month under siege by those (?) armies, Allah Almighty one night sends them a whirlwind, storm, rain and cold, and devastates them, and they turn back. So there is benefit in consultation. Yes.

In the face of this, people's family lives, their family lives, how they will be, and after so many events, for those who fear Allah, how to treat people: by declaring this He guides us with His verses. In a family life, in a divorce, what we should and shouldn't pay attention to.

These are very important matters. Why are they very important matters? Because these are Allah's laws and human rights; so that human rights, rights and law, are not violated, they are very great matters. Greater than that. Perhaps the small mistakes people make are forgiven, and the shortcomings in our duties toward our Lord are forgiven, but when it comes to human rights, the right of the one who is right must be handed to the rightful one. Otherwise, on the Day of Resurrection, in the hereafter, in our Lord's presence, at the Supreme Court, they will seize us by the collar. For this reason, in these rights and matters, Allah Almighty declares that, so that people attain salvation, by being bound by Allah's verses they attain peace.

With His verses. He enlightens us.
