Their Prophet told them “the sign of his rulership is that the coffin comes to you. In that coffin that the angels are carrying, there is relief and serenity and some remnants from the households of Moses and Aaron. If you are among the believers, there is surely a sign for you.”
Tafsir
It is narrated that the word coffin in the verse is said to be a chest. Hadrat Moses used to keep it in front of the army during the battles and to inspire his soldiers. In time, when the Jews weakened in strength, Jâlût took this chest from the hands of the Jews into his own hands. The Jews asked their prophet to give us proof that Talût was indeed the ruler. The Jews said that what they wanted proof of was the return of the Ark to them. It was then that Allah (swt) had angels bring the ark back to the Jews as a miracle.
In this chest carried by the angels is Allah's comfort and tranquility upon them. This means that Allah has mercy on them so that they are protected and safe from the fear of their lives. And the remnants of the house of Moses and Aaron. The meaning of this is that they are writings from the Torah brought by Prophet Moses, and they may also be the Furqan. But the verse does not tell us to find out what is in it. What does it say? For people who believe, for those who have faith, there is surely a sign in this. That is to say, Allah has wished good for us by showing us a miracle, by the return of the chest, and by that He says, 'I believe and submit to Allah.
What is said in the video
Their prophet to them — Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 248, we come to that verse.
The sign of his kingship is that the Ark comes to you. There is also the good news of the Ark. Here, since the time of Moses, inside the Ark there are writings.
Some on the other side have taken these. As a miracle — they struggle over it, they want to get it and can't — as a miracle the Ark will come. In that Ark carried by the angels there is, from your Lord, relief and tranquillity for you, and a remnant of what the families of Moses and Aaron left behind, it says. Yes, if you are believers, there is surely a sign in this for you, he said.
Their prophet now, again, to that Children of Israel people, its folk, this time of Saul's command, the miracle would show. It is reported that the word given in the verse as 'tabut' is said to be a chest. Yes, it appears as 'tabut'. Actually, a chest. Moses kept it at the front of the army in battles, and so made his soldiers fired up. In time, when the Jews (?) about strength, Goliath took this chest out of the Jews' hands into his own. Yes, the one at the head of that people of Amalek, their commander. The Jews had said to their prophet: if Saul really is king, let him bring us proof, they had said. What the Jews wanted shown as proof was that the chest come back to them.
So at that time Allah Almighty, as a miracle, brought the chest back to the Jews with angels. That is, these Jews, everything they said, to have Allah do it — that is what they wanted. Everything they said. I mean, in this case these too, by this, by our Lord fulfilling their wishes and desires, became spoiled. They became spoiled. They went as far as Allah, as far as (?). Why does it happen like this? Everyone, in proportion to his own covenant, what his own two hands earned will live, after all; these, how will they be struck by the severest torment? Like this. Yes. Or how will those among them who obey rise into the ranks of the God-fearing, I mean, the righteous people?
They too, in their obedience.
In this chest carried by the angels there was, from Allah, relief and tranquillity over them. That is, the meaning of this: so that they would be protected and, from fear for their lives, be safe and at peace, it was Allah Almighty's mercy on them. And remnants left from the family of Moses and Aaron. The meaning of this — Allah knows best, of course we say this from our own reasoning — writings from the Torah that Moses brought. Yes. Because since it says remnants from Moses and Aaron, these may be some remnants from the Torah. Along with this, it may also be the Furqan. But the verse does not tell us: learn what is inside it.
What does it say? For believing people, for those who have faith, there is surely a sign in this, it says. For people who believe and have faith. What is this sign? What, left from Aaron and Moses, could it be? Allah gives no value to worldly things. What else could it be? Surely even the advice of Moses and Aaron would not be this valuable. What else could it be? So it may be the verses of Allah. With value. And Allah Almighty brings those verses of His with angels. And He holds a light before them too.
Yes.
But the verse does not tell us: learn what is inside it. What does it say? For believing people, for those who have faith, there is surely a sign in this, it says. And what is this sign? Allah Almighty manifests His existence directly through miracles. With those miracles, the events He manifested He makes known to us through the Holy Quran, which will light our way until the Last Day — through its verses.
At the creation of the universe — since our father Adam's coming into the world, Allah Almighty has been warning people continually with miracles, and He shows these to us in our time too. What does it say, why does He show them? O people! Think well, use your reason well; there is no god other than Allah, and other than Allah you have no door to go to either. Accordingly, do not think this realm of possessions is your home. Nor will you remain here forever. Do not forget that one day you will leave your wealth and property here as inheritance and go. So know that this place is a temporary guesthouse, and prepare for the hereafter, your true home.
Otherwise, look, you will be left there alone with no one, says Allah Almighty. So His making His existence known to us with these miracles: that we have no door to go to other than our Lord, His (?). Yes. That is, Allah, in showing us a miracle with the return of the chest, has willed good for us, and so we believed in this — He says, we said.
So what is His willing good for us? As I said a moment ago: O people, think well. Look, there is no god but Me. Up to this time, Pharaohs, Nimrods and people holding many ideologies have all come and gone. All their names were erased. But one remained whose name is not erased: Allah alone. Celle Celaluhu. There is no god but Him. So, since He created us, how can we, within (?), defy our Lord, how can we turn our backs on what comes from our Lord? This no one with reason can do. One with reason. Only the unreasoning and the foolish.
And their hearts are restless and scattered, it says. They are like four-legged beasts roaming the earth, it says. Even more astray in their course, it says. What a pity. And woe. To whom? To those who live outside Allah's command.
Until when? Until they find the Truth and return to the Truth. After that, if those people have found the Truth through repentance, those sins from their times of ignorance too are changed into good deeds for them. These get away scot-free. But woe to those who go on like that. That is, with a life outside the religion of Islam, displaying their own bodies, with their dirty, naked lives, thinking they will be valued, thinking they will be (?), those who are (?) — to these, woe. Allah Almighty does not even accept their zakat. If their zakat were accepted, He would have consented to that filth of theirs.
If He does not accept the zakat, one of the obligations of the religion of Islam, think of that person's state. Carried away by the few hours' pleasure and enjoyment of this fleeting worldly realm, in fame and glory, pride and arrogance, thinking themselves stars, in the swamps, in the darkness, unable to perceive that their life is like that of crawling reptiles; in their own (?) world, in that dark world of theirs, thinking themselves stars, within those mindsets, those left longing for the stars, for those lights, wrong their own selves by likening themselves to them. May Allah protect us. Be very careful.
Be very careful. Don't be fooled by them. Yes.
