Translation

Kind words and forgiving with goodness are better than charity which comes with oppression. Allah is Ghaniyy (Bounteous) and Haleem (Forbearing).

Tafsir

In this verse, Allah (swt) shows us how to deal with people, how to treat people and how to have good relations with them. Allah (swt), who loves people very much, tells us how to deal with people so that people get along well with each other in their social life, so that there is no resentment between them and no gossip and gossip about each other. Treating people well, saying sweet words, forgiving people's faults, and engaging with people in these behaviors is maturity. This is a virtue that only people who have reformed their souls can do. We have already explained in the previous verse that people who behave in this way will have a high rank in the sight of Allah. Here, too, he informs us that forgiving a person's fault is better than the charity or charity that a person gives to Allah in response to an affliction that has touched him, in order to get rid of that affliction.

Allah is All-Glorious, He does not need anything. Allah likes it when people remember Allah and give thanks to Allah, as Allah gives His blessings to people. Our offerings, charity, good deeds, charity, and sadaqah are for our salvation from the calamities that come from Allah. In other words, the good deeds we do are for ourselves. Allah does not need anything. Because Allah is rich. That means He is the creator. Property and wealth belong to Allah. All souls will taste death (the inheritance of the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah). With this verse, Allah (swt) invites us to help each other and fulfill each other's needs for the sake of Allah (swt). Allah is kind. Because He is compassionate and merciful to His servants.

What is said in the video

Verse 263. A kind and good word and forgiving a fault are better than charity followed by hurt. Allah is Rich, Forbearing. Yes.

People can make mistakes. Because Allah's will is that people will make mistakes, and when a person turns to his Lord and asks for forgiveness, it will fit the purpose for which Allah Almighty created him. Hodja, if you say: I did not really understand how, through a mistake, through the mistake a person makes, he fits the purpose for which our Lord created him, this is what I mean. Allah Almighty, of His spirit, which exists nowhere in the universe, in none of His creatures, gave to man. Man was created as a likeness of his Lord. In that case, Allah Almighty created man (?) deficient and fallible, so that there would be no associating partners with His Being.

Yes, so man will commit mistakes and will see his Lord as great and (?), will see Him as the Creator, and himself as His servant, and will ask his Lord for forgiveness. So it fits the purpose of creation. He was going to create a being. It would direct itself by its own will. And this was man, to whom He would give of His own spirit. In this case, since people make mistakes, then with a good word, without throwing that person's mistake in his face, gently showing him the ways of the religion of Islam is better than charity.

Someone has (?), say, he uses bad language.

If you show him the right, the truth, and tell him he has overstepped good manners, that he will incur his Lord's wrath, if you warn him gently; or else, he has made a mistake towards you: you said 'do this', and he did not do the job. In this case the person feels ashamed before you. And you say: never mind, my child. There is no hurry right now anyway. If need be, if the job comes up, you say: tomorrow you will do this job like this. You forgive him. This is a charity. Because he was upset. He could not do it, he forgot. Or, because of a mistake, because of a shortcoming, he could not carry it out, he felt ashamed before you. When you embrace him with such gentle words, it becomes better than a charity.

Let us see how we wrote this in the tafsir. With this matter of etiquette, Allah Almighty shows us how people are to be treated in relations with people, and how we are to be in good relations with them. Yes. So if we, without breaking people's hearts, forgive them for the mistakes they made and speak sweet words, we keep up our dialogue with people.

Allah Almighty, who loves people very much, so that people in their social life get along well with one another, so that there is no resentment among them and no gossip and backbiting about one another, declares to us how our relations with people should be. Treating people well, speaking sweet words, forgiving people's faults, and building relations with people within these behaviours is maturity. These are a virtue that only people who have reformed their nafs can show. We call it a virtue. Because the human nafs always sees itself in the right, so when it sees some injustice in the other person, it almost immediately starts to accuse him.

Now, since man was not created free of mistakes, if someone immediately accuses me for the shortcomings I have done, chasms open between us. If that person's nafs too has not ripened, of course.

One (?) says this:

When a person gets angry with you and starts to rain insults on you, immediately take paper and pen. Write down what he says.

Then read what was said. Which of them are in you, which of them are not in you. Throw away the ones that are not in you, he says. With the ones that are in you, struggle with your nafs. How beautifully this saint puts it.

This is maturity. This is the reform of the nafs. Yes.

And this is a virtue too. The ranks of people who act this way will be high with Allah, he knows. Perhaps we explained it in the verse too. Here too, that forgiving a person's fault, in return for a hurt that touches him, so as to be saved from that hurt, than the charity he vows to Allah, than the good he will receive, is (?): this it makes known to us. What does it say? A kind and good word and forgiving a fault are better than charity followed by hurt. Than charity followed by hurt. That is, you made a promise to Allah. You said: My Lord, if I am saved from this hurt, I will make You a vow. I will sacrifice an animal. It is even more (?) than that sacrifice.

Allah is Ghani. He needs nothing. That is, Allah is rich. His richness: whatever He wills, He creates. For Him there is no lack, no lack. Kun, that is, once He says it, once He wills it, He creates it.

As Allah gives people His blessings, people's remembering Allah and thanking Allah pleases Allah.

Yes.

This word I said corresponds to this verse. Does Allah Almighty ever diminish the wealth of one who gives thanks?

My Lord loves people very much. Because He loves them so much, He made them vicegerents on earth and put (?) at their command. As He gives to a person, if that person says: My Lord, make me worthy of this blessing You have given. My Lord, just as You have given to me, Your treasure is abundant; bestow kindness also on Your servants in need, my Allah; if, while swallowing that morsel, you remember those who cannot find that morsel and go hungry, who cannot bring sustenance home, and can shed tears from your eyes, and if you tell your Lord that you are unable to give thanks for that blessing He bestowed on you, that is thanks.

That is thanks. This pleases our Lord, and He gives and gives. As He gave to Abraham. Yes. The charities we vow, our good deeds, our charities are so that we are saved from the afflictions that come from Allah. That is, the good we do is for ourselves. Allah Almighty needs nothing. Because Allah is rich, that is, He is the Creator. Property and possessions are Allah's. Every soul shall taste death. According to His verse that says the inheritance of the heavens and the earth is Allah's, all beings will again remain to Allah. With this verse Allah Almighty invites us to help one another and, for Allah, to meet one another's needs.

Allah Almighty is Forbearing.

Because He is kind and merciful towards His servants.
