You travel on them and on ships.
Tafsir
These animals carry our burdens and we carry ourselves on them. It is impossible not to understand how much Allah (swt) values human beings and how much He values human beings by making these animals serve human beings with their lives and flesh.
Since there was no technology in the past ages, He created the specific gravity of wood lighter than the specific gravity of water so that people could travel on the seas, and He enabled people to travel on the seas and benefit from the contents of the seas.
Later, with the development of science, large metal ships were built by keeping the body above water in proportion to the volume of water it carries. It has been made available to people for public transportation and freight transportation.
The fact that Allah (swt) shows these as examples to human beings demonstrates to every rational person that Allah (swt) did not create this universe by chance, that all of creation was created in a complete manner complementing each other, and how these beings were brought into existence. In this way, He warns people within their own will and informs them that there is no other God but Allah. O people! Eat and drink, but give thanks to Allah in worship.
What is said in the video
We left off at verse 22 of Surah Al-Mu'minun, he says. Now, we said that all the verses in this surah, some verses one after another, Allah Almighty always that there is no other god besides His own Self, and that His creations are superhuman, that no created being could make them – by making this known to us, He proves His existence to us, we said.
Bismillahirrahmanirrahim ve aleyhâ ve ale'l-fülki tuhmelûn What does it say here now? Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. On them and on ships you are carried. On them and on ships you are carried. Now when it says "on them", on what?
On horses, mules, donkeys, on camels we are carried. Isn't that so? When it says "on them you are carried", on many still unknown things we are carried. As technology advances, on cars, taxis, trucks, trains, planes, and perhaps in the future, ones we cannot know yet, some vehicles for carrying will also appear. Well, and on ships you are carried, it says. We know ships. Apart from land, on the seas, on the oceans that Allah Almighty created, and on the waters of the seas – being carried there. Now when it says "on ships you are carried", it addresses both the past and our time as well. Our time and the future.
Now, Allah Almighty – water's specific gravity we have taken as one. One. The specific gravity of trees is lighter than water's one. So let's say eight tenths or six tenths. What happens? When a lighter object falls into water, it floats on the water. So people in ancient times made wooden ships. They made ships of wood. With (?), over the waters, people they carried. They carried their loads. In our time too, iron, iron ships – although iron, since its specific gravity is heavier than water, ought to sink, as Archimedes found: while bathing, as the bath bowl stayed on the water, he shouts "Eureka, eureka!" "I found it," he says, "I found it." What did you find?
That the bath bowl, by displacing as much water as its size, its volume, matches the buoyant force, he sees. So ships, being made of iron, as they sink into the water and displace water equal to their volume, that force lifts them upward and makes the ships float on the water. Allah created everything with knowledge.
Everything is bound to a knowledge. There is no coincidence at all. So there is nothing made-up either.
These animals both carry our loads – these animals, these animals He has carry our loads, and we ourselves are carried on them. How valuable Allah Almighty has made people – by having these animals serve people with their lives and their meat, how much value He gives people – it is impossible not to understand this. Yes.
Since there was no technology in past ages, so that people could travel on the seas, He created the specific gravity of wood lighter than that of water, and by people's travelling over the seas, He let them benefit from what is in the seas. Later, as science developed, because a body, in proportion to the water it displaces equal to its volume, stays on top of the water, large metal ships were built. They were offered for people's benefit in public transport and freight. Allah Almighty showing these to people as examples shows, to every mind, to every person who uses his mind, that Allah Almighty did not create this universe by chance, that all created things, as complements of one another, in a flawless state were created, and how these beings were brought into existence.
In this way, warning people within their own free will, He makes known that besides Allah no other god exists. O people, eat and drink, but give thanks to Allah through worship.
