Vow to that; We have sent Noah to his people and he said; “Oh my people! Worship Allah. There is no God other than Allah. Won’t you abstain?”
Tafsir
Allah swears by His Essence that He sent Hazrat Noah (peace be upon him) as a Prophet to his people and warned his people, and He tells us repeatedly how Prophets warned their people and what these people were subjected to afterwards, Although thousands of years have elapsed between the passing away of these people to the Hereafter, Allah (swt) is informing us of their situation as if it were today, that His Essence is alive with the attribute of life, and that there is no other God but Him.
Although he said, "O my people, worship Allah, there is no god for you but Him," his people denied Hadrat Noah and said, "We have not heard anything from our ancestors about what he said, he is a liar." Some of them refuted Hadrat Noah, saying, "Noah wants to be a head and a big man for you. Some of them refuted Hazrat Noah by saying that Noah wants to be a head and a great one for you.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-Mu'minun, verse 23. Indeed, We sent Noah to his people. Noah, the noble Noah, We sent to his people. And he: "O my people, worship Allah. You have no god other than Him. Will you still not beware?" he said.
When I read this verse, the people of our time come before my eyes. Scantily dressed people; people who say "I am a Muslim" yet have become Satan's toys through the desires of the nafs – people. Those who, saying "I am civilized", envy the nakedness of non-Muslims and, outdoing them, envy their clothing, think themselves civilized and strip stark naked – such people come before my eyes. And when, in this verse, the words "worship Allah" are heard, a distress comes over people, and so as not to hear Allah's word they either move away from you, or insult you, or get to the point of blocking their ears.
And since Allah Almighty says you have no god other than Him, all the provision your Creator gives, he eats and drinks.
He benefits from all the blessings that come from Him.
Like animals – even animals, so as to protect their (?), while they wrestle with one another, man, even more than an animal, in a vile way, as a slave of lust, tears his own honor and dignity to pieces, falls into being Satan's toy, and living far from Allah and His Messenger – whenever this comes to my mind, I always remember this verse. What does it say? "You have no god other than Him; will you still not beware?" Noah says this to those people; among them he lived 960 years; after 940 years he says, "O my Lord, these no longer believe me." Those people, pointing to Noah as an example: "This man does not die; we were advised by our father's father, never believe him," they used to say.
After Allah Almighty sent Noah's flood, two hundred more years he lives. After the flood. What does that make? One thousand one hundred sixty. Then he lives sixty more years, or forty more years.
It is said they lived one thousand two hundred years. Yes.
Ve lekad erselnâ Nûhan, it says. Nuh'u ilâ kavmine fe kâle yâ kavmi'budullâhe mâ lekum min ilâhin gayruh, e fe lâ tettekûn. Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, and he: "O my people, worship Allah. You have no god other than Him. Will you still not beware?" he said. Allah Almighty, swearing by His Self, that He sent Noah (peace be upon him) to his people as a prophet and had him warn his people – by telling us this with repetition, how the prophets warned their peoples, and what these people were subjected to afterwards; although, since these people passed on to the hereafter, thousands of years have gone by in world years, by Allah Almighty informing us of their condition as if it were today – that His Self, with the attribute Hayy, is living, that is, living as the giver of life to the whole universe, and that there is no other god besides Him – this He makes known. Noah (peace be upon him) warned his people with Allah's (?).
"O my people, worship Allah. You have no deity other than Him" – although he said this, his people denied Noah. "We have heard from our forefathers no word about what this one says. He is a liar," they said. And some, saying "Noah wants to be a head and great over you," called Noah a liar. When I say this, my life in our time comes to my mind. My own life comes to mind. I am a living example. Of this life.
Look what it says here.
"We have heard no word about what this one says. He is a liar," they said. (?) This one speaks the truth. But the people are ruled by falsehood and run after falsehood.
So what am I a living example of? I too have stood up against superstitions. I say: this verse is not like this, it is like this. They defend the superstition and set out to deny us. Let them deny me, it doesn't matter. They set out to deny the verse. They too denied the verse. By denying Noah, they denied Allah's commands, the verses. But their denying me does them no harm at all. But their denying Allah's verses leads them to kufr.
They say that in Surah Al-A'raf, verse 179, Allah created many of mankind and jinn for Hell, it says. "Well, the Arabic says so." And I say: is Allah a tyrant, that He should create people and jinn for Hell and take pleasure in their burning, in their suffering torment? Wasn't Allah supposed to be free of deficient attributes? Wasn't it that Allah wills no injustice to the worlds? What happened? The verses contradicted each other. Therefore I say that verse does not mean that. Hell was created for many of mankind and jinn. It is not that mankind and jinn were created for Hell. When I say this, they set out to deny.
To deny. Allah says, they claim, He will put whom He wills into Paradise and whom He wills into Hell. But what about what you have done: fe men ya'mel miskâle zerratin hayran yerah – an atom's weight of good will be written. And what you have done: fe men ya'mel miskâle zerratin şerran yerah – an atom's weight of evil will be written too. What happened to these? What became of Allah's willing? By the deeds you have done, by the rewards and sins you have earned, you will be called to account. Why do you ascribe attributes to Allah? Why do you impute guilt to Allah? Why, with the lustful feelings of your nafs, your worldly desires, fame and renown, pride and arrogance, your craving for worldly wealth, do you set out to blame Allah, while this filth in your own nafs you do not set about correcting?
Yes.
When I read these verses, our time, a time, comes before my eyes. We too (?) people. We also call out to the Diyanet. Dead earth has been sprinkled over them. They listen to me. But listening to me again does not suit them. Listening to the truth does not suit them. Because among them there are people caught up in certain ideologies.
If it weren't so, they would heed the voice of truth. "What does this man mean, why is this man struggling so much with us, let's listen to this man" – why don't they say that? We wrote a book, we put it in front of them, we want to make it known to people, they block our way; the publication that is our right, through injustice, they want to keep us from publishing. Must one really go to court? And indeed that is what happened.
What kind of Islamic leader are you? How can you have the right of Islam, the justice of Allah, His flawless attributes, written into books as deficient, and then sit at the head of that office as if you had done a doctorate? What doctorate?
Yes. The verses (?). May Allah protect us. I am doing my duty. Tomorrow, at the Great Tribunal, in the presence of Allah Almighty, we will settle accounts.
I will always be proven right.
Why will I be proven right? I call out to them: if I am wrong, bring me to the right path. Bring me to the right path with verses.
If I am right, then you come to what is right. Don't you hear this? You do hear it. So if your duty is to warn me – and I am coming to you as the Diyanet – if it is to warn me, to summon and warn me, then since you don't do it, you are guilty. There must be an institution that will bring me to the right path; although I applied to that institution, as if dead earth had been sprinkled over it, it stays silent; so in the presence of my Lord, at the Great Tribunal, when I settle accounts with them, I will be proven right, isn't that so, lawyers? Yes.
