Translation

Then, the denying dignitaries of his people said; “He is nothing but a man like you. He desires to be superior to you. If Allah had wanted (to send Prophets), Allah would have sent the angels. We have not heard such a thing from our ancestors.”

Tafsir

Hadrat Noah 'alaihis-salâm' lived among his people for more than nine hundred years. However, people who disbelieved in Allah and the Hereafter did not believe in Hadrat Noah. When Hadrat Noah 'alaihis-salâm' invited his people to guidance, the prominent disbelievers of his people addressed his people and said to them that Hadrat Noah 'alaihis-salâm' was nothing but a human being, a human being just like you. He wants to be superior and dominant over you, they said, and turned his people away from believing in Hadrat Noah 'alaihis-salâm'. Such people exist in every age. These are the tagut.

The taghuts of the people of Noah's people, in order to make people turn away from the truth and Noah's Prophet, used to say to people that if Allah had sent a Prophet, He would have sent him from the angels, and these people, who had no knowledge of Allah and His Prophet, used to deny Allah and His Prophet and hinder people who would believe.

They also used to say, "We did not hear such a thing from our ancestors," and they used to lead people away from the truth, and they used to show people the filth that the soul desires, and they used to lead people into darkness, swamps and disbelief in Allah. But did their ancestors follow their footsteps even though their ancestors were on a wrong path? Yes, every soul acts in the way it covenants with Allah. That is to say, their denial of Allah was destined for them at Kalu Bela, when they made a covenant with Allah, that they would follow falsehood and tagut, even though they heard the truth.

What is said in the video

We have come to Surah Al-Mu'minun, verse 24. Upon this, the disbelieving notables of his people said as follows: "This one is nothing more than a mortal just like you." His saying it this way – Allah Almighty: what are you? We send you prophets from your own kind, He says. From your own kind. Yes. Of course he too will be a human being like us. But that human, by the Sovereign of the worlds, as an envoy will be sent to us. And to the envoy of our Lord, the Sovereign of the worlds, respect we are obliged to show. Because that envoy's word is Allah's word.

"He wants to be superior and ruler over you. If Allah had wanted to send a prophet, He surely would have sent angels. We never heard such a thing from our forefathers of the past," they say.

Yes. Against people who have been busy with superstitions for a century – when I tell them the truth, they stand up against me; saying "the Arabic says so", they ascribe attributes to Allah.

For a century, with human words, one another – having mortgaged their minds, outside Islam, to others – through the intrigues of non-Muslims, in order to destroy Islam, upon Islam's core sentiments giving room to superstitions, and in that way, saying "I am raising Islamic scholars", those who raise Islamic superstition – to them I call out from here. Of course you will not hear what I say. Because I speak the verses. Yes.

We read the verse once more. Upon this, the disbelieving notables of his people said as follows: "This one is nothing more than a mortal just like you. He wants to be superior and ruler over you. If Allah had wanted to send a prophet, He surely would have sent angels. We never heard such a thing from our forefathers of the past."

Noah (peace be upon him) lived among his people for more than 900 years. But the people who denied Allah and the hereafter never at all believed Noah (peace be upon him). When Noah (peace be upon him) invited his people to guidance, the leading disbelievers of his people, addressing their people, about Noah (peace be upon him): "This one is nothing more than a mortal like you, that is, a human being. He wants to be superior and ruler over you," they said, and made their people turn away from believing in Noah (peace be upon him). Such people exist in every age. These are the taghut themselves. In one sense the taghut is Satan; in another sense the two-legged human is taghut.

Of the people of Noah (peace be upon him), the taghuts – so that people would turn away from the Truth and from Noah (peace be upon him) – saying to people, "If Allah had sent a prophet, He would have sent one from among the angels" – these people who had no knowledge of Allah and the prophet, denying Allah and His prophet, would also hinder people who were going to believe. Yes. Also their forefathers – there are many things to be said here, we pass over this, but what is to be said here: Allah Almighty's address "Elestü bi Rabbiküm", (?) with people, (?), man's becoming destiny for himself; in this case, if Allah Almighty, with our own will, had not left us free, "We would have made you, along with the angels in heaven, prostrate," He says. So that this verse too is not denied, Allah Almighty – well, in this way I too am telling you in short.

We are not going into these. Once we go into them, the meaning will deepen and open up.

Moreover, by putting forward their forefathers, saying "We heard no such thing from our forefathers", they turn people away from the truth. By making the filth the nafs desires look pleasing to people, they would drive people into darkness, into swamps and into denying Allah. So even though their forefathers were on a wrong path, do they follow after them? Yes. Every nafs acts in the direction in which it gave its covenant to Allah. Although Allah Almighty destroyed past peoples, when the peoples that came after them, exactly in the direction of filth, acted in a way no better than their forefathers, Allah Almighty says in a verse: their forefathers' destruction.

Their being destroyed. Though only a little time had passed since, how they resembled their forefathers, He says. Yes.

Yes. Every nafs acts in the direction in which it made its covenant with Allah. So their denial of Allah, when they made their covenant with Allah at Qalu Bala, was written for them as destiny, so that, despite hearing the truth, they followed falsehood and the taghut. Yes. Now, they ascribe attributes to Allah so beautifully, ascribe them so beautifully that with Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 17, too, God forbid, may Allah protect us, they make Allah commit injustice against people. They make Allah commit injustice against people. Like what? Look what it says here now. "Their state, the hypocrites', is like the example of one who kindles a fire on a dark night." Now it has the hypocrites make a fire.

What does this mean? When Allah sends people to an unseen world, people are in darknesses such that they cannot see in front of them. In darknesses. So Allah, to people, guides – leaders, prophets, books, scholars He sends. Scholars. Here, here, the people who are in these darknesses it removes. It has the hypocrites make a fire. Fire. That is, God forbid, in this dark world they have such a mind – people so wretched that they cannot see in front of them – that, beyond Allah's mind, for anyone who could guide them they feel no desire or need, in such a way that they show no need – with their own minds, the fire to light their way they have kindled. Who are these? The hypocrites.

They have kindled the fire. To light their way.

"Like one who kindles a fire," it says. Now the hypocrites kindled the fire. "When the fire lit up its surroundings, Allah at once took away their light." Blessed man.

Allah Almighty sent the Quran, at least for its sake, to the worlds. To the worlds. At least for its sake, fear a little and don't write it this way. "Allah took away their light. He leaves them in darknesses," it says. On what basis do you write this?

Look what its meaning is. "Their state, the hypocrites', is like a fire burning on a dark night." Not "kindling"; they cannot kindle. Like a burning fire. "When the fire lit up its surroundings, those who put out the fire" – doesn't the Quran light up our surroundings, gentlemen? A radiance, a brightness, a light, a proof – didn't it come to us as that? Did this come only to the Muslim? Since the Torah, the Psalms and the Gospel are in the Quran, didn't it come to the worlds? To the worlds. In that case, how do you throw the non-Muslims into Hell – "they were kindling a fire" – and, by putting out their light, make Allah commit injustice against them?

Whereas what does it say here? Those who put out the fire – that is, those who don't believe in the Quran, who, although we convey the truth, turn their backs, who deny Allah – leave themselves in darknesses.

Yes.

Come, as Noah said, we say too: Let us return to the truth. To the truth. Let us explain the verses well to people. "No. You go against the spirit of the Quran," he says. Now, blessed man, is it you who went against the spirit of the Quran, or I? Explain this to me with a verse. Without ascribing attributes to Allah.

Yes. And then, so as not to spread the truth, he doesn't even give us the right to print. He doesn't give its text, its text.

Yes. Isn't that so? It is; they are stalling. We will not be able to look the other way. (?) with teeth clenched, we will get it from them. Wrenching those teeth out. We will get it from them. And we will spread the truth too.

Yes.
