Translation

If We had ordered them to kill themselves or to abandon their lands, with the exception of a few, they would not have done it. If they had done that which had been advised to them, it would have been better for them and it would have been more strengthening (for their belief).

Tafsir

If Allah had said, "Kill yourselves or leave your homes," as a test of whether people obey Allah or not, the others would not have obeyed Allah's command, except for a few, and they would have rebelled against Allah.

Why did Allah not punish people who commit misdemeanors and sinners by punishing them in this way? Because Allah (swt) created human beings to know His Essence. Allah knows that people are weak in their faith, in their obedience to Allah. Their faith is tied to Allah by a thread of cotton. Because this is the realm of the unseen, people's faith in Allah and the Last Day is tied only to the extent of the benefits they enjoy, so He does not make laws that will break this thread and alienate people from Him in the realm of property because of their weak faith. On the contrary, He strengthens the bonds of faith and brings people back to Him through constant admonitions and exhortations. He strengthens people's faith by showing them the ways of inviting them to guidance and salvation through His verses.

If these people had followed the advice given to them, it would have been better for them and their faith would have been strengthened. If only such people knew that Allah sent mankind into the world of property for a test. At the end of a certain lifespan, people will taste death and leave the wealth and property they have coveted in this world and go to the Creator to give an account. At the same time, he will not be able to take anything from this world to the Hereafter except his good deeds and sins. If people thought and realized in this way, they would heed the advice and counsel given to them, strengthen their faith and attain Allah's grace and mercy.

gains. Yes. Since their faith in Allah and the Last Day stays bound only in proportion to the benefits they are given to taste, He does not issue rulings that would break this rope and, because of their weak faith, in the (?) realm, drive people away from Him. Yes. If these people had carried out the counsel given to them, it would have been better for them and their faith would have been strengthened. Today Allah Almighty has, with sharia rulings, with sharia rulings, made His command known to people. There are the conditions of Islam, the conditions of faith. If, within the conditions of Islam and faith, they had abided by these, they would get off safely.

And they would have worshipped Allah Almighty in the best way. But unfortunately. He enters Islam, he recites the shahada.

He has money, he doesn't go on Hajj.

His health is fine, he doesn't fast. He has money, and thinking 'how can I dodge the zakat, how can I wriggle out of it,' he resorts to legal tricks.

Now, by reciting the shahada, has this man finished the job? That is why He says it would be good if he carried out Allah's command. It would have been better. Their faith would be strengthened. Faith. That is, their (?) towards Allah would increase. Yes.

Such people — if they knew that Allah sent people to the material realm for a test What was it? 'If people knew,' He says, that Allah Almighty sent us to the material realm to prove what kind of person we are. This word — the counterpart of the verse, this that I say: 'Did you think you would die without proving what kind of person you are?' If he grasped the secret of that verse — what is its secret? More deeply: if he grasped the address of Elestü bi Rabbiküm, that is, that Allah Almighty made a covenant with people; that, as a result of the covenant, by his own will, with the decisions he made using his partial will, a person's own aim became his destiny — if he knew this.

And Allah Almighty, who is free of any deficient attribute — because He created man close to His Being — 'here, perhaps, because You saw me as like Yourself, had You sent me to an unseen realm, a realm where Your Being is not seen, I would have worshipped You there' — so that they would not say this, He sent them to this realm. If he grasped this secret, the meaning of this verse, if he grasped it — that he came here for a test; that, by the deeds he does to make himself, those around him and Allah Almighty witness what kind of person he is, by his actual deeds, with every movement, his own body will bear witness against him — if he knew this.

As He says: 'When you come into My presence with a (?)', and man would act as if he were in Allah's presence. Yes.

Such people — if they knew that Allah sent people to the material realm for a test. That in the end, after a set lifetime is over, man will surely taste death and, leaving behind in the world the wealth and property he greedily chased here, will go to give account before his Creator. Yes, those who boast of their wealth and property. Those who make money their banner and lean their back on their wealth. People who find strength in their money. In their money. In that case, by the temptation Satan gives him, commanding him to be stingy, with the fear of poverty he takes the person away from his Lord, from trusting in his Lord.

Allah protect us. These are the traps Satan sets before man. The trap the nafs sets before man. In the world, things look rosy to man, and man, carried away by things of the nafs, of Satan and of the world, ruins his own state in the world and torments his own self. Yes.

At the same time, from the world into the hereafter he will be able to take nothing but his good deeds and sins. If people thought and understood this way, they would heed the counsel and (?) given to them, strengthen their faith, and attain Allah's grace and mercy.
