The misinterpretation

(O Children of Israel!) We took a promise from you that you would not shed each other's blood and not expel each other from your homes. Seeing everything, you finally accepted them.

The right translation

We said to you (in the Torah), “Do not spill the blood of one another, do not drive each other away from your homelands.” For that, you are witnesses of what is said in the past.

Explanation

That's what's wrong here: They say that they had promised. 'We promised' is one thing, 'we said' is another. In this verse they made the same mistake as in the previous verse. They used the words "We have taken a promise" and Allah (swt) did not fully engrave the promise they had taken from them into their characters, so when they came to this world, they went beyond their promises, that is, their destiny. Here, because the commentators did not fully understand the meaning of Verse 172 of Surah A'râf and opened the Verse incorrectly, they continued to make these mistakes, that is, they continued to attribute shortcomings to Allah (swt).

When we come to Verse 172 of Surah A'râf, we will explain this verse, which was opened incorrectly, in more detail.

What is said in the video

people who do not bring it about, their covenants are like this. Because the covenant is like that. There are eight of them here. And two are on the back. What does it say? O Children of Israel! That you would not shed one another's blood, that you would not drive one another out of your homes, We had taken a pledge from you. Now when it says here 'We had taken a pledge', they end up going outside this pledge. Of everything, seeing everything, in the end you had accepted these, it says. Seeing everything. Where? In the address 'Am I not your Lord?'. What are we saying here now? We had told you this: do not shed one another's blood, do not drive one another out of their homes, We had said this in the Torah.

We had said it in the Torah. Therefore you too are witnesses to what I said in the past, it says. What does this mean? To what I said in the past, in the address "Elestü bi Rabbiküm", when We said 'I am your Lord', when you made a covenant with Us, you too are witnesses to this. Are we not witnesses too? We are witnesses too. Not only to that, we are witnesses too to what we said. How will we be witnesses? Well, I did not see it, and witnessing comes from seeing. You will see, you will see. When will you see? Idha balaghatil hulqum when the soul reaches the throat, it says. Come on, turn it back then, it says. Gathering his relatives around him, he waits for the soul to leave, it says. Now in this case, when Allah Almighty says, when the soul reaches the throat, that is, the door of repentance is open up to here. Once the soul comes up to here, the door of repentance closes.

Some call this the 'rooster bone'. When the door of repentance closes, He will show you your covenant. He will show His Being too. Do not worry at all. At the moment of death.

And we will witness that covenant of ours.

Now a question like this may come to your mind: Hodja, are there those who witness this before dying? I am a witness, and Allah is my witness. Because there is no one here who could be my witness. Allah is my witness.

All of you will see that place very well. Because this is not a word said only to the Children of Israel. What does it say? We had said it in the Torah; therefore you too are witnesses to what We said in the past, it says. Yes, now they could say this about what is in the book. That is: it is written in the book, we are witnesses that it was written in the book. But look, what does it say here? Therefore you too are witnesses to what I said in the past. Where in the past? How will I be a witness to what He said to those in the past? Right there in the realm of the hereafter, when he made a covenant with Me.

Yes.
