The misinterpretation

(O believers) People of the Book, disbelievers and idolaters do not want any good to be sent down to you from your Lord. However, Allah gives His mercy to whom He wills. Allah is the possessor of great bounties.

The right translation

Infidels and polytheists from the People of the Book do not wish for you to receive benefits from your Lord. However, Allah spreads Allah’s Grace, and those who wish, attain guidance. Allah is the Owner of great graciousness.

Explanation

The place where this verse is wrong is when they say: (Allah gives His mercy to whom He wills). Our Lord does not discriminate between people. If we elaborate on this point, it will be better understood.

Allah (swt) created man as a particle of his soul. He gave man a mind to govern himself, to judge himself with his own will. In this situation, He made a covenant with human beings. Our Lord says in the 172nd verse of Surah A'râf: (172- He made the descendants of the children of Adam to bear witness against themselves, that you may not say on the Day of Resurrection that we were unaware of this, and said: I am your Lord. (They said) yes, we bear witness (to that).

So after man was created in the realm of Lahut, when he made a covenant with Allah (swt), whatever he wanted from our Lord, Allah (swt) gave him what he wanted and wrote his destiny. After that, if Allah (swt) removes His will from man and our Lord exercises His will on man, what does He want from man? If Allah, who has the power and strength, puts whom He wills in Paradise and whom He wills in Hell, if He creates whoever He wills as a disbeliever and whoever He wills as a Muslim, if He gives His mercy to whomever He wills and withholds His mercy from whomever He wills, are we not characterizing our Lord by making Allah (swt) unjust among His servants?

In this case, those who ask Allah will be guided. Those who turn their backs on Allah and do not embrace the religion of Islam, those who rebel against the commands of our Lord, who disregard the laws of Allah, who associate partners with Allah, or who obey the Verses of Allah's Verses that suit them and deny the others, will surely be punished accordingly, and they will enter Hell, the place of torment, which is said to be an evil bed.

This realm is a shadow and a counterpart of the Hereafter. In this world, when people disobey the laws of the state, cheat people, kill people, etc., and commit crimes outside the laws of the state, and are caught and sent to prison for their crimes, did the judge send these people to prison, or did they send themselves to prison for their crimes? Of course, they punished themselves for their crimes.

So when people make a covenant with Allah (swt) in the Elestu bi Rabbikum address, their own desires and wishes become their destiny. Within this destiny, people are either punished or rewarded for the actual deeds they have done with their desires and wishes. They will be rewarded for their own actions. In this case, while people live in the world, they receive rewards and sins for the decisions they make with their own will. Allah (swt) has no will over people. Those who ask Allah will go to heaven and those who ask Allah will go to hell.

This is entirely the result of the actual actions of human beings based on the decisions they make within their own will. Those who ask Allah for guidance will be guided. Those who turn their backs on Allah and do not embrace the religion of Islam, those who rebel against the commands of our Lord, who disregard the laws of Allah, who associate partners with Allah, or who obey the verses of Allah's revelations that suit them and deny the others, will surely be punished accordingly and they will be included in Hell, the place of torment.

What is said in the video

Yes.

Verse 105 of Surah Al-Baqarah.

Why are we trying to explain these mistakes to you now?

Learn your language well.

If you learn it well, you will save your religion from ascribing attributes to Allah Almighty. When someone speaks to the point of ascribing attributes to Allah, you see into that person's heart and grasp with what aim he is telling it.

Is he telling it sincerely, having mortgaged his head to superstition, with no other intention? Or is he really telling it to harm the religion of Islam?

How will we tell, Hodja? He tells it in a mocking way. Some tell it in a sincere way. The followers of superstition. Those who do it for material gain tell it greedily, because they crave the world. He'll make you accept it. He'll write it this way. You'll see these things like this.

Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 105. O believers! Let me check whether it's like that.

Look. 104. Verse 105. Yes. By Allah, there's no "believers" here either.

There's no "believers" here either. Just make it up and say it. O believers! It makes me laugh, honestly, this... how, how have they made Islam like this? Of the People of the Book, the disbelievers and the idolaters too, the idolaters too. I'll read it once more, look, and I'll read the correct one too, and you'll compare the two. O believers! The disbelievers among the People of the Book and the idolaters too do not want any guidance to be sent down to you from your Lord. Whereas Allah gives His mercy to whom He wills. Oh, how nice.

Do you know how many mistakes there are here? Allah sent the Quran down as a mercy to the worlds. It's been given to whom He wills. Allah is the possessor of great grace. Well, if you gave it to whom you willed, you didn't give it to me. Where has this grace of yours gone? Look, words that contradict each other. Yes. Now, there's no "believers" here. We're explaining the correct one. The disbelievers among the People of the Book and the polytheists — there's no "O believers", look. The disbelievers among the People of the Book and the polytheists do not want any good to be sent down to you from your Lord.

These parts are right anyway. The aim is to put the right and the crooked together and confuse your mind. Whereas Allah showers His mercy. Whereas Allah showers down His mercy. How nicely we say it. A verse. Illa rahmatan lil-alamin: if He sent the Prophet as a mercy to the worlds. A mercy to the worlds, isn't it?

Whoever wills attains guidance. Allah is the possessor of great beneficence. Whoever wills attains guidance.

Now come and see: in English, in German, they write about Islam, the Quran, and my heart burns, my heart. My heart burns. Truly my heart is burning. They will write these this way and send them out. They write in English, German, French and send it out. And those people are right; there's superstition in your book, they say.

Yes. They go on television. Talk, talk. Come on, first explain the verses, explain Allah's verse. Let people know Allah's verse. What does Allah want from us? What does our Creator, our Owner, want from us? Explain that to people. Blah blah blah blah blah. Talk on and on. Recently some, um, professor from the Diyanet came on: "Surah As-Saffat", he says. "What is Surah As-Saffat?", he says. "Saffat is plural", he says. "And there is saff", he says. "And saff is singular", he says. He plays around with that. Nothing else.

I was fed up. I switched it off.

It's astonishing.

These people are going to explain Islam. They are going to explain Islam.

These people, appointed in the Republic of Turkey, at the Diyanet, doing their duty, are going to explain Islam. These people are not explaining Islam.

Their intentions may be good. They may be sincere. But that intention, Allah — well, He may forgive him for his intentions perhaps, I don't know of course, Allah will settle the account. His — Allah, who is the owner of justice. These people have a side where they are mistaken. If they have seen the truth, it is essential that they return to the truth at once, to the truth. If he has seen the truth and still keeps going the same way, even though he himself holds to the truth, his way of telling it is this: I wrote the book; if, with its mistakes, all people know it this way, sin goes to him. But Allah: "I made it right, as it truly is. You, there, representing me, in that place you got hold of, you represented me and told it to people this way.

All their punishments are on you too." Is that right? It's right. Because whoever teaches a wrong — the one who does that wrong, the one who does the wrong of the one who taught that wrong, the one who does the wrong of the one who taught that wrong too — until that wrong is cut off, sin goes to that person. Well now, if I know this, and I too interpret it wrongly, am I knowingly putting my hand under the stone of this sin?

That's right, here. If I too make the verses contradict each other, then it means I tell it one way, then another way.

Yes. We say: may Allah reform them.

Oh, my heart burns. By Allah, when I see these things my heart burns.
