Al-Baqarah 189: They ask you about crescents, say: they are measures of time for people and for hajj (pilgrimage). Good behavior is not to enter your houses from the back, but good behavior is (the action of) a person abstaining. Enter houses from their doors; fear Allah so that you will find salvation.

The misinterpretation

They ask you about the crescents, say: They are measures of time for people and for pilgrimage. good behavior; It's never about coming into your homes from behind. But good behavior is the behavior of the protected person. Enter houses through their doors and fear Allah. Hope you find salvation

The right translation

They ask you about crescents, say: they are measures of time for people and for hajj (pilgrimage). Good behavior is not to enter your houses from the back, but good behavior is (the action of) a person abstaining. Enter houses from their doors; fear Allah so that you will find salvation.

Explanation

It is also hoped that in this verse they have used the word "hopefully" to describe our Lord. In Verse 179, its meaning has been explained. It is hoped that from time to time the meaning of this explained Verse will be put under the Verse whose words are used.

What is said in the video

Verse 189 is also a wrongly translated verse. Let's look here too — where is it again? Again there is the word la'alla. What does it say here?

Here too, in the same way, the word la'alla occurs at the end. "Perhaps you will attain salvation," it says. Let's read. "They ask you about the new moons." ...I'm reading the wrong one. "They ask about the new moons. Say: they are measures of time for people and for the hajj." That is, Allah Almighty says this: He placed on the earth — I mean in the sky — the lunar system. The moon system. So they ask about the new moons: Why does it shrink like this? Why does it grow? Why does it happen like this? He placed a calendar in the sky. Their shrinking and growing, sir, like Rajab, Sha'ban, Ramadan, Dhul-Hijjah, Dhul-Qa'dah months, sir, like the ones we count as January, February, March, April; He placed months like those.

Some of them last 29 days, some 30. Sir, with every 29 it counts, it moves 10 days back. Ramadan moves 10 days back. And in this way Allah Almighty, by making the person on earth who fasts long days and the one who fasts short days swap places, represents justice. At the same time, by placing a calendar in the sky, He makes time known. What does it say here now? "They ask you about the new moons. Say: they are measures of time for people and for the hajj." "Righteousness is not at all that you enter your houses from the back," it says. Righteousness. You know, some people secretly, from the back of the house, from here and there, enter. These are not good things.

"But righteousness is the conduct of those who guard themselves. Enter houses through their doors. Fear Allah. Perhaps you will attain salvation," it says. Now here, up to the end. It's probably the same. Let's also read the correct one. "They ask you about the new moons. Say: they are measures of time for people and for the hajj. Righteousness is not at all that you enter your houses from the back. But righteousness is the conduct of the one who guards himself." Yes. "Through their doors" — yes, "enter houses through their doors. Fear Allah so that you attain salvation." Yes. "Fear Allah so that you attain salvation."

Whereas here: "Fear Allah. Perhaps you will attain salvation," it says. Whereas: "Fear Allah so that you attain salvation." Of course, what will he do if he fears Allah? If he knows Allah and fears Allah, if he knows Him as the Owner of the worlds, and if tomorrow at the Great Court, before Him, before Allah Almighty, to Allah Almighty as the Judge we are called to account, surely this fear is enough for us. What do we do? While in this world, we carry out Allah's commands and prohibitions. Yes. That is why we said: fear Allah so that you attain success.
